I don't think you can properly appreciate how amazing NCAD is until you leave and travel the US.. You'll realize there are not many dance studios like the ones of North SD county. I cannot recommend NCAD highly enough! When you combine the nourishment of the environment (critical to the longevity of any dancer), the level of technical training and affordability it's honestly a no-brainer. When you walk into the lobby it FEELS different. Parents are kind, the staff knows you by name and the teachers LOVE teaching. Although you can participate with their competition team after age 8, they in NO way push students into anything. On the contrary, they are super supportive of creating an environment where a dancers relationship to their craft remains pure, joyful and in tact! This is a review for the new Oceanside location. I feel we have found a true gem of a studio! My three daughters are all dancing here and receiving FANTASTIC instruction for a tuition rate that equals what we were paying for JUST my oldest daughter at our former ballet academy. Not only is NCAD the most affordable studio that I've found in the area, but the level of instruction and variety of genres available allows my girls to really progress and have a blast. I took my daughter in for a beginning ballet trial class and she was the only one in the class. Apparently, they haven't had any retention with the students for this class. The instructor was really nice and my daughter really liked her. So when we got done with the trial class, the receptionist came over to follow up and tell me if I signed up that day I would get half off for the first month and an $8 registration. So I signed her up that same exact day, and I got charged the registration same day and confirmed I was getting half off for the first month to which she responded yes. When it was time to get charged, they charged me the full amount. I called and spoke to the front office on 4 or more different occasions and each time they told me that they would ask someone about it. I never got a response/refund and it seems like no one in the office can get it together. I even texted the number that reached out to me when one of the class was cancelled and no response. Also, the first actual class fell on a holiday so they were closed and the following Monday, the instructor was out sick, so I inquired about a make up class and there's not many opportunities for a make up class. When I initially called to ask about the extra charge, I also asked about make up classes and was also given the option to take another beginner class and also informed that they were going to be opening a new beginning ballet class. I was not interested in putting her in a different beginner class because I didn't sign her up for beginning tap or jazz. So the next time I came into class, I asked the receptionist what were the times for a make up class, she told me she doesn't work at that location and I would have to ask next time I came in. I asked the instructor, she told me she doesn't know because she doesn't teach that class. No one has any initiative to find an answer. Either there's no organization behind that desk and no one has any access to find information about the classes or they just don't care. Why have people answering the phones or working the front when they can't even answer any questions or get anything done. I've reached out numerous times and in different ways, and everyone has been so unhelpful and useless. I've been very understanding and patient each time I reached out and gave them plenty of chances to make it right, but they don't seem to care. read more

I would give this dance studio 10 stars. My daughter was dancing at a different studio prior and we decided to venture out and find a studio that would focus on her skill. These people have become like family. I trust them with my kids and they care and handle every situation with professionalism, dedication and LOVE! The studio seems to offer many types of dance and a competition team, but my daughter only does ballet at the studio and the review focuses on that. Also to put this review into perspective, I've had 3 kids in dance for many many years in many different genres. Really impressed with the quality of ballet instruction here. We have been there for 4-5 months and there has been a noticeable improvement in my daughter's ballet fundamentals in a very short time. The ballet staff has a strong dance background and understands how to teach kids. The studio also puts kids in the proper level according to ability which was very important to us in choosing a ballet studio. It makes sure that all kids have the proper environment to have fun and still be challenged to improve as a dancer. I highly recommend this place for ballet training. read more
