I called during their regular office hours. Have you ever called a doctor's office and gotten the menu to push numerous suggestions of buttons to push for your problem to be solved? That's what I was hearing. I left my message of not renewing my policy. After all the years of being with this local agency, having never met the owner, I think it was his voice going through the menu options. I called the DeSmet Agency on a Sunday afternoon, knowing they weren't open, but wanting a quote to see if I could do better with the exact same coverage. I left my message. The next morning, Monday, I received a call from Mr. Tim DeSmet, and we discussed my options. In less than an hour later, Mr. DeSmet called back with a quote. It's a good thing I was sitting down. With his diligence, Mr. DeSmet's quote would be saving me $538.40 a year!!! When I came into his office to start my policy with my new company, Mr. Tim DeSmet personally greeted me and shook my hand. Before this day, I was ignorant of knowing about DeSmet Agency because I blindly trusted an agency I thought was doing the best for me.
