Broward County is lucky to have such a great library system and the one located at Broward College in Coconut Creek has so much to offer. It has a great kids area with many different scheduled activities throughout the year. There are also teen and adult events and programs. The app is convenient to reserve books online and pick them up when notified via email. There is plenty of parking with 4 5-minute spaces for book returns. Horrible service. Rebbeca was nasty. She doesn't know how to treat people. We drove from Deerfield in a storm to get a library card for my daughter. It's poring rain and my daughter has an upper respiratory infection and they demanded my daughter come out the car in the pouring rain. Employees were super nasty. I was surprised at Rebecca's attitude. They made exceptions for some teenagers getting cards beside us without their parents. She wouldn't make exceptions but made exceptions for them ..... read more

This used to be my library of choice back when I was in college which wasn't all that long ago, 2009 or so I have gotten more use out of this library than my degree LOL, but that's not here nor there. This library is very big, it has two stories. Downstairs you have all the computer labs, children's section, music CDs, movies, while upstairs you have all your nonfiction and fiction books. As well as resource material that cannot be checked out and magazines. I love to browse the shelves, there are so many books in so many different subjects, that I alwsys find something to check out that I didn't know I wanted. I recently started getting a few series on DVD that are not in any of the streaming services and I have been able to get them through the library. This is a wonderful, wonderful benefit that we are very lucky to have available to us. This particular library is great like I said it is very spacious. Everybody is very eager to help you. it is very neat and orderly and overall a great place to spend a couple of hours lost in knowledge. Love it. I love the Broward County Library system and I especially love this library. I am here several times a week and have been for the last twenty years. This library is on the campus of Broward College. The entire library is open to to the general public except for one small study and computer area that is reserved for students only in the back of the first floor. Because this a college library they have more and longer hours than other branches. They are even open all day Saturday and Sunday. The only time they are closed is if it is a national holiday. The programs for children and teens are excellent here. During the summer they even run a sort of free day camp with special programs every day. I brought my daughter to all of the programs for kids here as she was growing up. She joined their book clubs and made countless crafts. Later she joined the teen programs. I credit the library with helping her to be successful in school. The people who work in the children's section, Mr. Richard, Avril, and Rosmei are some of the best people I know. The have become life long friends and even now that my daughter has grown up they still ask about her whenever I see them. Through the library programs my daughter has won contests with prizes, taken free classes to help her with preparation for tests like the SAT as well as gained volunteer hours for graduation. If you kid needs volunteer hours this is a wonderful place for them to go. In addition to all of the fantastic programs for kids they have programs for adults as well. You can join a book club, take a computer class, or watch a movie. They have an auditorium that they hold functions in like events for the college, speakers, and music programs. They also have rotating art displays in their cases as well as upstairs. Sometimes they show the art from the college students in the lobby. The friends of the library have a little booth on the main floor where they sell snacks and gifts to raise funds for the library. A couple of times a year the friends have a fantastic book sale where they sell hundreds of books, some the latest releases for a dollar. Something is always going on. For instance tomorrow is May the 4th or as Star wars fans call it May the Fourth Be With You. They are having fun events for kids and movie screenings to celebrate at different libraries across the county. The best part of the library of course is the ability to check out all of the books, CD's and DVD's you would like for free. When I want something I just order it online and usually in just a day or two it is waiting for me on the hold shelf at checkout. I even get new DVD releases this way. They will give you an entire week with a new movie for free. If actual books are no longer your thing you can even check out e books as well as music and audio books for your android or apple device using Hoopla. Don't have a kindle or nook? No problem you can borrow one. Freegal music allows you to download six songs a week to your device for free. The libraries catalog is endless. I can only think of maybe two times in twenty years that I had to buy what I needed instead of borrowing it. There is so much going on at this library that it is honestly hard to keep track of it all. Fortunately they provide a handy flyer at the entrance that lists all of their events as well as all of the other events at every other library in Broward County for the month. This information can be found online as well. The reference librarian can be found on the second floor to assist you with any need you might have. Computers are available for any adult to use with a library card on the second floor, first floor has computers for kids. The library building itself is lovely. It is two stories with plenty of windows letting in natural light. There are tons of tables and chairs everywhere for people to study, work, and read. They do discourage cell phone use in the library and are quite strict on that. This library is like my home away from home. I truly appreciate how much is available to me through the library system. At least once a day I think of something I need there whether it is a cookbook to provide a new recipe or a book that will teach me about how to get financial aid for my daughter for college. Their resources are endless and this is only one branch! The creation station at the main branch even as 3D printing and virtual reality equipment for patrons to use. If you haven't been to the library recently you are missing out. Our libraries are important cultural institutions and I hope Broward County keeps funding them as such.j read more

A great library at Broward College! It's a two level library with plenty of space to use computers or study. My son comes here once a week for a class and I love going upstairs and having some quiet time. The children's section in this library is the best! There is a large play kitchen area and fun sitting areas shaped like boats and houses. In the back there are large Legos to play with as well! read more

I feel blessed that I found this place. I grew up in Boca Raton where the children experience is amazing in the library. I wasn't seeing that in my area and I was feeling frustrated. Honestly, I never thought to look up libraries on yelp but for some reason I did. I came across a review of a mother that said all of these wonderful things. I was sold and told my husband we were going to go check it out for ourselves that day. When we got their we quickly realized it was part of the campus but not really. You can't really get front row parking it is more to the side. If it's raining or it's dark it might make things uncomfortable but for us we were okay with it and just happy that there was a big lot with room to park in it. My daughter had the best time in the children section. They have a kitchen play area with a baby and a bed and fun stuff for her to play with. The area for books is huge. There is a great selection for kids of all ages. I like that it is very clean and organized. I think it is smart that they have a gift shop For trinkets and candy. I never saw that before at a library. If you have a little one like me they have special books sectioned off for them. They also have computers for school aged girls and boys. They are a little off to the side so they have their own section. Younger kids have access to computers with fun games like Dora and a couple ipads too. They have free wifi so I plan to bring my computer next time and do a little homework while my daughter plays. I even see babies crawling around and having fun because there is a corner with baby toys on the shelf for kids that want to crawl on the rug. I almost forgot there are padded boats and little nooks for kids to grab a book and read in privacy. What an amazing library so happy we found it. read more
