I took him to Lake Forest Hospital ER and the staff there was amazing. They tried their hardest to get us out in time to still see his sister graduate but his appendix did not cooperate and he ended up having to have an appendectomy. The staff there were awesome in helping us get him transferred to the main hospital and get him in to surgery. The ER doctor was really nice and the nursing staff was too along with the CT tech there that Friday the 19th of June. Kudos to your ER staff for helping these out-of-towners out!!! I met Doctor Hoffman while I was in the Hospital. He was requested to do a Pulmonology consultation…read moreon me for my Asthma issues. Since my issues continued after being released from the Hospital, I continued with him since he'd become familiar with my case. It appears he's both a Pulmonologist and Sleep specialist. I'm not sure if there are any other doctors at his office, or if it's just him. So just an FYI that this review is specific to him and his office (and not any other doctors, if there are any). His office is beautiful. He's definitely put care and attention into making the office a high-class area. When you first walk in, you are at the Main desk (granite countertops). Off to the right is the waiting area, complete with nice little coffee/tea/snack area as well as Sirius radio playing in the background. Off to the left is the patient rooms. Doctor Hoffman seems to really know what he's talking about. I feel like I can trust what he's saying. Although I haven't been seeing him long, I already have a confidence in his abilities, knowledge, and bedside manner. He's definitely very straight-forward and honest and is looking out for the patient's best interest. I look forward to continuing with him. The only thing I would suggest for Dr. Hoffman's office is to add a Guest WiFi. It's pretty much the standard now wherever you go, especially in Doctor's offices where folks end up sitting in waiting rooms. Please add Wifi! :) UPDATE 11/4/14: I'm very sad to report that I've left 5-6 messages at Dr. Hoffman's office and have not received one return call. I was initially calling for an emergency script for a vacation i was going on, and then the remainder of the calls were to schedule an appointment. So out of my 5 (possibly 6?) voicemails that I've left, I have never heard back. This has been over a couple month period. At this point I've already made an appointment with another Pulmonologist, because I'm not sure what to do - I need to see a Doctor. I'm not sure if for some reason they're just not particular calling ME back, or if Dr Hoffman has no clue that his office is being mis-managed. Either way i'm really disappointed because I REALLY liked him. But I'm not sure what's going on, and it's not ok to just ignore someones continued voicemails.
