I then tried to call a few times to get things figured out and each time the office staff would put me on hold, it became so annoying to get answers or contact them that I just quit attempting, then got a call back and set an appointment, they never got back to me about insurance, so I didn't go I figured I'm not going to something I have no details about. They I received a call , the office lady told me that I should've called, which she's right but I got no help from you guys so not giving help by calling and letting you know I wouldn't be there. Very bad experience with reception. Called to get information about a DOT physical for medical card. First the lady told me the office only takes current patients for DOT tests. Then she asked all my personal information to look me up in the database only to confirm I am not a current patient. She stated the office cant do the DOT because Im not a current patient, When I questioned her she put me on a long hold only to come back and confirm that obviously the office does take new patients. Then I asked the price, and she replied.. it depends it could be 100 or up to 130. When I replied "Mam, you sound like you don't know what you're talking about", and gave her the reasons why.. she says oh yeah and hung up the phone read more

I have went to Orchard Medical for several years. Primarily Dr Soifer but Ive seen Dr Aiken, Dr Abderholden, and Dr Delaney. They are all such knowledgeable, professional, caring doctors. Good care is hard to find these days especially from an entire practice. They have always found a way to squeeze me in their busy schedule with any last minute needs. I was answered by their "answering service" who didn't tell me that she didn't work for the office and when I tried to ask a question she became extremely rude. When I told her I just had a question and she didn't need to be rude, she then explained that she couldn't help me at all. I was able to get an appt for today to test for strep. Got the appt for 9:40 just to do the test in the parking lot. After the test was told I have a 12:40 televisit call. It's now 2:30 not a peep. I called the ofc they're at lunch. I finally texted back to the number that the drs ofc texted from and told them thanks but no thanks and that there better not be a charge. I'm calling my insurance company to make sure they can't charge. Talk about poor service. They said he's running behind...really..bs!! When I was there for the strep test there were only 3 cars in the lot. I've been going to this drs ofc for over 40 years and service here is sucking more and more. Ive always had a great experience with my doctor here. Dr. Soifer is the best!!! The receptionists however are awful. They're always rude and have a bad attitude, they call mid day and never ever leave voicemails. I can't pick up personal calls while at work, why can't anyone leave a simple voicemail? They are condescending when you ask questions and they sit and talk to each other (work related or not) without even acknowledging you when you come up to the window. Incredibly unprofessional. If it wasn't for Dr. Soifer, I would never go to this place again. read more

Did you know? Orchard Medical Center, SC (OMC) in Antioch is now charging a surprise (in most cases) $20 Technology Fee to all patients age 18 and older. I had to find this out from my son that needed the same day appointment due to a severe illness. My son called for an appointment and was able to get one later that morning; there was no mention of the new Technology Fee on that phone conversation. OMC did send an email to my son to pre-register for his appointment (which he did) but the new Technology Fee was not mentioned in the email. When my son arrived for his appointment at OMC the receptionist seemingly was instructed to demand the $20 Technology Fee before letting him see a Physician. My son asked if the Technology Fee could be billed to his insurance and he was told the Technology Fee was not insurance billable. Then he asked if they could send him the bill and he was again told the Technology Fee had to be paid before he was permitted to see a Physician. OMC could notify patients of their new Technology Fee in advance by phone, email, or their internet portal if they wanted to, but choose not to for what seems to me, obvious reasons. This Technology Fee and the way it is being administered is totally unethical to me and I wonder if it's even legal, it seems more like extortion. My family has been going to OMC for more than 40 years and this new Technology Fee is making me want to look elsewhere for an Ethical Personal Physician. Some other OMC things too think about: OMC added a TV to their waiting room this past year, I wonder why OMC doesn't look for an infomercials company that would sponsor their Technology Fee? OMC also added tablets for patients to sign in/ register with instead of using paper forms. Isn't this saving OMC money by not needing an office person to update the patient's records? Why doesn't the medical staff learn how to use their computerized system? They still ask questions like when did you last get a tetanus shot and what and when were your past surgeries even though they have that information on file already. Will OMC demand a fee from their patients to pay for re-surfacing the OMC parking lot next? Orchard Medical Center, S C is estimated to generate more than $5.4 million in annual revenues (before charging the Technology Fee), and employs approximately 40 people at this single location. Since OMC is treating (sticking it to) their patients this way how is OMC going to treat the regular office employees? I feel sorry for the OMC employees that had nothing to do with creating the new Technology Fee but get the backlash from it. I understand that there is a need for good medical staff employees; I hope they find reputable employment. I could go on and on about this but the last thing I want everyone to think about is this question does your doctor spend more time keeping up with the advancements in medicine or the advancements in their bank account? read more

My wife sees doctor Soifer and is very pleased with her so I decided to switch practices. I called to make an appointment for a physical. Can't do it, you need to fill out a form and send it in before you can do that. I print the form on their website and mail it in. A week later I get it back with another form to be filled out. This one states you have to pay $75 deposit at the time of scheduling of which $20 is a technology fee. By the time I get an appointment I'll be dead. I've never seen a doctors office make it so hard to become a patient. Not worth the hassle, I'm staying with my current doctor even if I have to drive an hour to get there. Think twice before you call them. read more

Horrible staff/receptionists. They lose faxes or just plain out forget to fax (important, stat documents) out in any kind of timely manner. They're rude and lazy. The doctors aren't half bad here, however working with the ladies behind the desk isn't worth the headache. read more

I've been going to this Medical Center for over 9 years now . I have to admit that it has been more frustrating than beneficial overall . To start with the main thing that I go there is for my birth control shot which is once every 3 months. I am very diligent about my appointment, and my scheduling making sure that I create my next appointment before I leave the current appointment. On multiple occasions the nurses do not know or give me a date range for me to schedule the next one. Unless I ask to see the date sheet( in which they do have) for me to schedule my next appointment. Is just my personal opinion that I would rather not get pregnant unplanned when that is the reason which I am there. Nor would I would like to go off a hunch or asumption which I have gotten from nurses before which they would ballpark the date instead of checking the sheet itself and yes if I did not check myself it would have been off by a week. I have gotten to the point now to where I take photos of the date sheet myself so I do not have to bother with the mistakes of the nurses they are not all bad but these are just my instances. Which leads me into the front desk they seem to be cold if not rude if you catch them at the wrong time. Not to mention issues with creating or setting up the next appointment. I have had many times were my appointment was not set up ,when I specifically chose a date and time and received a card as a reminder but yet it was not filed into the computer or schedule properly. I have also had it where the date was not the same date and time in which I had specified .where they had told me that I was late ,or did not show up to an appointment and which I did not set up. I don't know if this is a disconnect from the time of scheduling to when it is put into the computer ,or what but these things especially with my personal matter are time sensitive and could really have harming effects that could be life changing. Honestly I only go here because it is the closest medical center to me and I do love doctors . Dr. Soifer is one of the best doctors I've ever had. read more
