There have been many examples over the years when various symptoms have been relieved with Active Healing's methods. Most recently I was diagnosed with Asthma and prescribed a steroid maintenance inhaler for difficulty breathing and a persistent cough. My lung capacity was at 64%. After I saw Sarge and he put me on the PEMF mat, whole body vibration with oxygen, and suggested breathing exercises to do at home, I no longer required the steroid inhaler and my lung capacity jumped to 82%! I love that Active Healing provides alternative/supplemental care to conventional medicine. Sarge's methods are never invasive, but always helpful! I'm so thankful to have this resource!

I have seen other BCBA's work with my son, and absolutely NONE of them can remotely compare to the BCBA's that are part of compass. all compass staff I have met with and seen are absolutely phenomenal with these special kiddos. My son has shown nothing but progress from compass, and all schools and ABA programs should follow the compass model and all these special kids will do nothing but thrive. Compass provides therapy, parent training and parent clinics and compass has been a part of our life, but it's also been a way of life for us. My son screams when it's time to leave compass and he wants to stay there! I do not believe they do not respond to parents, compass staff and I've spoke with many, always respond to me almost immediately, and not only help you while your child is in therapy but they help you help your child outside of therapy as well. If anything else is said it's hogwash!!! This is the best place for therapy for these special kiddos.

In addition to these amazing strides, they've opened an innovative education center at their Concord Clinic. I recently brought my newly diagnosed son to CARD in Woburn. My son is 2 years, 11 months old…read more Within the first fifteen minutes of our meeting, I was told that my son would need 40 hours a week of ABA and that he should skip preschool and do ABA only. I was told he should do this for three years and then enter kindergarten a year late, at age six. There are a few incidents that I feel upset about. I was told that my son was "the worst ever" seen when it came to changing his diaper. He did cry and try to turn over but I imagine at a center for autism, that there might have been more challenging behaviors observed. Also, the BCBA who was working with my son made comments on how he was one of the worst in not following a direction and using his words. The BCBA grabbed a toy truck from my son and my son said, "Let it go." She gave it back and said that was an appropriate response and then grabbed it from him again. My son lost it and tried to pull it away from her and cried for probably 2 minutes until we asked her to redirect his attention to something else. I was told then that this was "one of the worst she seen" as far as his ability to hold out for something. Finally, the BCBA asked whom my son was close to in the family and I told her that is my father (who has been taking care of my son, while my husband and I work.) She made a comment that, "Oh, it is usually the mother." I felt these incidents show a lack of empathy and care. This experience felt like a sales pitch. I felt like I was being told how awful my son was so I would need to sign up for 40 hours (which was not recommended on his IEP or from his doctor.) I don't feel such a strong recommendation should be made within meeting my child for 15 minutes. . Fortunately, my son has started preschool and is being praised for what he can do while working on his needs. I do not doubt the need and wonderful things ABA does or that 40 hours might be the appropriate thing for my child or another, it was just the method in which this BCBA went about it. I am currently waiting for home services through another agency. There also might be more kind BCBA's at CARD but it felt like I would get the push for 40 hours no matter what my son did. Which by the way, my son is awesome, loveable, and kind and didn't deserve any of these things said about him.

With its insurance based, ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), and Board Certified Behavior Analyst guided programming, the rapid progress it's clients make, is nothing short of miraculous. I should know, my own child is a client there. In the six months that my son has been a client of ABC, I have seen an incredible change in his behavior, his speech, and his social skills. I feel like his 1:1 or behavioral technician, was handpicked or selected especially for him. She's friendly, patient, and knows my son better than anyone else. The same goes for the other technicians at ABC. They are kind, friendly, and well-trained. But the best part of all, is their Saturday social groups. Their age appropriate 8:30-4:30 programming, covers everything from morning meeting, arts n' crafts, outings, play based therapies, and social skills training. My son loves going to ABC every Saturday to "see friends" and to have an exciting and fun filled day. Thank you George Torbay (owner). Thank you for changing our lives. Additionally, as a social worker I found Jamie (sales/outreach) personable, available before, throughout the stay, & to this day as a liaison & ally with a difficult & I can't really come up with the words for 'emotional roller coaster' of having my son struggle, but I'm happy I was in the business to find her & The Ridge when we needed them. Thanks!

PLEASE READ: If I…read morecould give this place 0 stars I would. Hi, I'm a past client from the Ridge. I am 17 years old. I went to the Ridge this past summer and it was the worst experience of my life. I got there, thought it was great, thought I would finally get the support I needed, and it was the complete opposite for me, and for many of the other clients there. I went in there because of issues with my mental health and trouble finding self worth, and I left hating myself and the world around me even more than I did at first. I left a different person. We got handed nicotine vapes, we got verbally abused by STAFF, our feelings were dismissed 24/7, clients were getting PERMISSION to have sex in the woods by STAFF, and so much more. Besides all that trauma that I and MANY OTHERS went through there I have to say that the therapy at this facility LACKS professionalism as well as accountability. I was one of the older clients at the Ridge, and (at the time I was not complaining) throughout the time spent there this past summer, I facilitated almost every single therapy group while I was there. It was kind of them to let me do that in the first place, but let me tell you -- that was taken advantage of VERY quickly. As long as I was there, the therapists just got to SIT BACK and RELAX & GET PAID to watch clients do the job they are supposed to do. Apart from that, the "security" they have there is absolutely terrible. Family visits are supposed to be the best part about being at a treatment center: Seeing your siblings, parents, grandparents, guardians, etc. The joy of that experience FLEW out the window pretty fast due to people from the outside were AND ARE bringing in drugs for their children. I had marijuana while I was there as well as nicotine from the outside because the Ridge FAILED to apply bare minimum guidelines to those family visits. The most disgusting part about all of this is that I went in the Ridge with no substance abuse problems, or drinking problems. I came out of the Ridge with BOTH. I was so traumatized, I drank every single day to drown the pain and suffering I went through at this facility. It got so bad to the point where one night I was drinking while driving, and decided that I wanted to commit suicide. Because of the Ridge. I crashed, totaled my car, got arrested, and was planning on going back to the Ridge a second time. Because I heard about this beforehand, I planned to overdose on my medications before getting there because DYING was better than going back to this place. I survived barely, I had tachycardia in the hospital with intense hallucinations. Thankfully, I got to make the decision to go to the Ridge in Maine. If you are going to send you child to a treatment center, LET IT BE THE ONE IN MAINE. It is the complete opposite of this shit hole and I have become someone that I DREAMED of becoming my whole life because of that facility. I am now sober 6 months, high honor roll, and thriving. My life would not be where it is right now if it weren't for the Ridge in Maine. PLEASE and I mean PLEASE do not send your child to this one. If it is going to have to be one, please make the extra drive to send your children to the best care possible, if you TRULY want your child to get better. Please do not force your children to go to not only this facility, but any facility without talking to them first. AND LOOKING AT REVIEWS. You will start the healing journey WITH your child and you will be able to help them feel seen and heard. Do not treat them like they are some problem to be fixed. The world is a disgusting place and they deserve the life they are meant to live. Your children deserve the best treatment possible and this is absolutely not the place. If you read this far, thank you for taking the time to read and acknowledge mine ( and many others' ) terrible experience at The Ridge New Hampshire. Do not fail your child and send them here, you may lose your child like my parents almost lost me.
