North Steyne Emporio is a gourmet cafe, market and grocer and a family run business. It has been around for years and considered a Northern Beaches insitution with its great service, deli style breakfasts and lunch and is also a florist and grocer. North Steyne Emporio are also the Northern Beaches flagship store for Vittorio Coffee and also offer Affogoto,Green, Jasmine and Black teas. The homemade pastas can be enjoyed within the cafe or can be taken home also. My stable is the salad sandwiches in mixed grain, fruit salad with yoghurt and of course my skim mocha. I love the reviews of the Emporio as a grocer, though I never think of it as that myself. I guess I just can't get past the sandwich bar. Anyone who has lived overseas will know that there is simply no equivalent to the authentic Aussie sandwich bar - you know, the one where you're faced with a counter of endless little stainless steel tubs of every conceivable sandwich component from which you can pick and choose your own personal combination. Chicken, beetroot and alfalfa? Sure! Ham, mayonnaise, lettuce and preserved lemon? No problem. No butter? Of course. And Emporio does it as well as the best - pick your bread (regular or sour dough; bun, baguette or bagel etc) then go to town. A personal favourite is the chicken schnitzel with mayonnaise and chilli sauce plus whatever salad I'm in the mood for. They don't come cheap, but you won't need dinner. read more

I've been here a few times on the weekend for a morning coffee and it's always a little disappointing. You generally have to line up for ages to order and the staff aren't overly friendly. Plus, it gets really loud and crowded so it's not exactly a relaxing weekend spot. Perhaps weekdays are better. Coffee is ok but not amazing, and the fresh juices seem pretty good, albeit a bit pricey. I'd go back only if if was less crowded and I was desperate! read more

Excellent eggs on toast breakfast with fresh juice. Service excellent and very quickly corrected a change problem even though I had moved away from the till. Good atmosphere but people struggled to get a chair or table. read more
