I could write in detail the weekly negative experiences I had at this Day Facility, but when I dared mention it to the supervisor he used it against me and our family and called us whingers. For the record, sent our kids to other daycare's nearby and elsewhere and never complained as never had any issues. I start by questioning whether the early learning professionals can actually speak English and whether they have Australian accreditation. Lets say they do, when I speak to them I have no confidence this is the case. Lets focus on one incident, when I picked up my child he was soaking wet and though this happens, the lack of explanation was the worse part and including Montessori making excuses about how my child peed on themselves (though they didn't bother to change him) or it was my fault when I washed his hands? Accidents happen, but playing the blame game wrongly is the worse part and this was 'endless' including when my child came home with a bruise or had to tell me he was hit by another child, its the lack of explanation or knowing when it happens is the most concerning. Your child and your money, but I couldn't pull my child out fast enough and so glad I did!!! Loads of better choices nearby and well worth the wait.

Though it is a…read morechurch group there's no pressure to be a 'believer', in fact I don't think I ever had a religious conversation in the whole time I went there but if you have strong views against Christianity then be warned there are bible related songs and stories towards the end of the group. It's around $5 per child and for that they get heaps of toys to play with, outdoor equipment, craft and a seriously substantial morning tea, as well as tea and biscuits for the adults. The morning tea is catered for by the group individually and whilst there's no pressure to volunteer your services, I did after attending for a while, as you really get into the spirit of the co-operation that's so natural here. Families there are just lovely, very welcoming and not at all cliquey. It's perfect for babies and toddlers though pre-schoolers might be a bit bored unless there are other big kids around. It's a great place to meet people and there's a real mix of folk there: different nationalities, different income levels - a great big melting pot.

Early last year I was lucky enough to do the 'Australian Cheese and Wine Experience' on Fort Denison, in Sydney. Meeting at Circular Quay for the ferry to Fort Denison, we were greeted by Claudia and given a general overview of how things work and what her job involves. Upon arriving, we were greeted with a glass of bubbles and a quick talk by the park rangers about Fort Denison, before sitting down inside at a large table with everyone else in the group. The afternoon consists of trying a variety (we had 10) different australian (and some international) cheeses, from blue, to brie, camembert, cheddar and more. Claudia explains a little about each cheese, it's history and the process of making each cheese. It's very interesting how each cheese is made, and how much the process does actually differ between cheeses. A few glasses of different wine and beer are also supplied, along with some chocolate. You're invited to experiment, while also given a few recommendations on what to try with each cheese. It's quite amazing how the textures and tastes of different cheeses change, after a sip of red, white, dessert wine or even beer. And you definitely can't go wrong with chocolate! It goes great with cheese, and you get to find out just what works best. There's ferries semi-reguarly between Fort Denison and Circular Quay, so there's enough time for a (very quick!) tour of the 'island' too before you head back after you're finished with cheese. Overall I absolutely loved the experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone; cheese lovers, or those that haven't had much experience and would love to try something new and rather different. I've come away with a much greater appreciation of cheese, with hopefully a better knowledge of what goes best with what, and what cheeses I absolutely love and adore.

We went over to Fr. Denison from Circular Quay on a ferry, then stood outside and had sparkling wine and hors d'oeuvres as a ranger explained the history of the island. Then down into a small historic room in the fort where Claudia put on her show. What a show it was. She really knows her stuff. Delightful presentation, well paced, well projected. Nice wines to match the cheeses, and the focus was the cheeses. She put in a few European cheeses for comparison, like the real Camembert to compare with the Victorian Camembert. The cheese and wine part took a bit over an hour and was delicious - over and over again as we worked our way through the different style cheeses. It was an absolutely delightful experience. If you're not into cheeses and their differences, I'm not sure I'd recommend it. But if you have any interest in understanding the differences in cheeses and their tastes, this is a great excursion.

"Spaceport America Cup" is the world's largest intercollegiate rocketry competition made up of students from all over the world who now travel to Las Cruces New Mexico in the USA to showcase their engineering skills. COMPETITION TARGET OBJECTIVE Achieving as close to 30,000 FT without overshooting the target while carrying a Dynamic Payload designed by the Team to be handled mid-flight, the recording of all Video & Telemetry Data of the Flight and its Cargo/Payload, and finally returning ALL Stages of the Rocket safely back to Earth. Team USYD, during flight the rocket, developed a robot arm that engaged and retrieved a piece of "Space Junk" simulated by securing it as a pendulum (payload) inside Bluewren, to simulate live space conditions. With computer vision for tracking and monitored by the team's telemetry capabilities, both the booster rocket and the main rocket were safely parachuted back to Earth and retrieved. USYD were winners in the 30,000 Feet Category for Technical Recording and Handling of their Space Payload. 'Bluewren' also achieved a height of 29,933 FT on a Target of 30,000 FT. Lars, our instructor, was knowledgeable, super friendly and patient in helping us learn to surf and move to tackling larger waves along with giving us important information about rips and surf safety. Our two hour class had 4 people at differing levels so got a lot of time enjoying personal instruction. This course really got me excited about surfing and confident in handling waves up to 3-4 footers. Was a super enjoyable time. The lets go surfing Maroubra location also has changing rooms and storage for your kit/gear while your out in the water.
