North Valley Dental is awesome, I'm always in such great care with Dr Hop Pham and his team. I felt compelled to write this review today because I had an awesome experience with my cavity filling. I'm absolutely terrified of needles and especially have such bad PTSD with any sort of oral operation. Thankfully Dr Pham and his team made me feel less anxious throughout the entire procedure, and it definitely went better than expected. Aside from the great care, I feel like its worth mentioning that Dr Pham is so knowledgeable and I definitely feel like he is an expert in the field. From the moment I walked in to North Valley Dental I knew that this was a gem the front office girl (I believe her name was Janet) was so friendly and made me feel right at home. Dr Christine was the first dentist that has made me feel comfortable since moving to the area. They said they won't take me in cuz i'm 3 mins after the 15 mins they gave me . One thing about North Valley that makes them so great is unlike most dental offices, they do not double book so you don't have to wait - so for some reviewers to admit they are late to the appointment and then get mad and give 1 star because they cannot be seen, just shows how self-centered and narcissistic some people are - the world does not revolve around you. My first time to visit this dental office. The overall environment is really neat and organized, and there's separate room for each patient for more privacy which is really great. As soon as I walked in the clinic, the front desk and dentist assistant girl, Brity?, was welcoming and explaining to me form etc with detail and patience even though she's busy with calling other patients to confirm their appointments. Also helping me with the X-ray and setup etc. And then Dr. Pham came to check my teeth see if any other concerns or new cavities, also checked the bone loss indicator?? on my gums to ensure I don't have this issue, and explained details and with patience, which kinda calm people down during the treatment. And then later he introduced me a dental hygienist, Isabel (? I may remember her name wrong), to clean my teeth. Isabel is very patient during the whole cleaning process too, especially during Covid-19, she had to manually clean my teeth one-by-one, and later taught me how to correctly brush teeth. Manually cleaning is honestly a long process, I thought it might not be as clean as equipment, but the result is great, she's doing her job really well. After the visit, I immediately schedule the next appointment and routinely half year checkup. Over experience is really great. I was a patient to this office, but I have to cancel all future appointments due to poor system of appointments reminders. Example. Few days ago, an email sent today for appointment at 10:00 today. I called on the day to confirm then office clerks said: sorry they forgot.. ignore... These clerks want to charge $50 for 30 minutes late appointments. Should I charge them to waist my time? The Dentist is professional but office clerks need better appointments handling especially reminders to help patient in busy schedule. I experience many other Medical office very professional in 3 reminders system: 1- confirm appointment 2- 1 reminder 3- 4 hours reminders. By real person. Good luck to your business. read more

Best dental office! I love how friendly they are from the moment you walk through the doors. They are the only place I know that greet you with a warm welcome. They are personable, organized, and thorough. Each time I come in the service was great! The dental hygienists do a great job cleaning my teeth and they take their time. Dr. Pham is incredible as well. I have been to many dentists over the years! I have a very "complicated" mouth full of teeth because of a motor bike accident years ago. (Lots of metal in there!). About 2 years ago I started going to Dr Pham based on a friends recommendation. I was very impressed with his knowledge. Unlike many others he recommended simple procedures to some issues (such as filling up a broken tooth with cement instead of a crown or implant). I go there now every 3 months for teeth cleaning. Again excellent work by his staff. As you can see I don't normally write Yelp Reviews (I'm too busy) but in this case I felt I need to pass my observations on to others. read more

Today was my first time at North Valley Dental for my annual checkup​ and teeth cleaning. From my past dental experience​s, this place is BY FAR the BEST experience I've had. Seriously! I had a welcoming experience from Angela, who works at the front desk, and made sure I wasn't lost and helped me registered into the system. Britzy who made sure my concerns were heard and answered​. She did an awesome job polishing my teeth. Of course, Dr. Pham, who made sure my needs attended for and were​ extremely descriptive with his process. He made sure to take time to address my questions and was very cool about it as well. He did a fantastic​ job of​ removing tartar​ and plaque from my teeth, No pain, all gain. On top of all this, they have advanced​ equipment. If you feel hesitant​ about North Valley Dental, don't be. I honestly wish I had found this practice sooner. I had an appointment at 9 AM and i got to the facility parking lot at 8:58AM and received a call from the staff stating that my appointment is cancelled due to my dentist is not coming in today. I would feel more appreciate if I get the notice in advanced so I don't have to waste my time driving to the office. I also requested 2 hours from work for this appointment. If I receive some form of notification for even 30" before the appointment, I wouldn't have wasting all my time. Updated: From 1 star to 4 stars because of the response i got back from the Dentist. I do understand that this situation is out of control. It would be great if this situation can be avoided for future patients. As for me I will not going to reschedule my appointment. During my whole life in the bay area, I have always dreaded going to the dentist. The dentists that I always ended up with as a kid/teenager/adult were always aloof and cold. They would always claim that my filling would not require anesthesia. I even had one who claimed my root canal did not need anesthesia, since the tooth was "dead" already. Well as it turns out, it was alive and within seconds of drilling I was already tearing up from the pain. With 15+ years of scarred experiences, I completely stopped going for over a year.   I thank my lucky stars I found North Valley Dental. The dentist here, Dr Pham, is amazing. He explained everything he was doing, why he was doing it, and what the procedure felt like. He contradicted every garbage dentist I ever had in the past. When I shared with him all the things my past dentists used to say, he would shake his head and apologize I had to go through such horrid dentists. I guess this explains why this office has 5 stars and the other offices are sitting at 2.5 stars.   Pretty amazing that I now am unafraid to go the dentist now. I've been too busy (or maybe too lazy) to write reviews lately, but North Valley Dental inspired me to snap my review dry spell. Dr. Pham was really friendly and highly professional, as was the assistant Kristina and the front office manager. They didn't make me get an X-ray (I requested not to) and then Dr. Pham explained everything he was doing, including how and what he was doing when taking measurements of my gums. I know most people probably don't care about those kind of details, but whenever I go to the dentist/dr/mechanic and overhear jargon being thrown around, I have to learn exactly what it means! Dr. Pham was happy to indulge, patiently explaining everything he was doing and giving me all kinds of oral health tips. I left the dentist with an enlightened mind and smile, in addition to a goody bag with toothpaste and a travel brush. And the prices were really, really good too (I don't have dental insurance). Not to mention the fact that I missed my prior appointment with a really poor excuse and they were really cool about it. It's hard to imagine how a dentist's office can get much better than this. read more

Dr. Pham takes the time to explain what he is going to do before he does it as well as the reasons why he does something. He pays attention to the small details because I'm certain he is aware of people and their fear of the dentist. With that in mind, you can arrive to the conclusion that he is on top of the dental game and knows how to handle the more complicated nuances of dentistry. He is also familiar with his regulars and will remember you and any details you mention to him prior. His staff is also just as friendly and accommodating to your schedule. Since he is also fairly young, you can expect many more years of service. Dr. Pham also takes most forms of insurance and was accommodating to my PPO plan, charging me in network prices, despite not yet being a part of my network. read more

I went here because my co-worker recommended here. I called to make an appointment and was helped by Britsy* (Probably spelling that wrong). Britsy is the front desk receptionist and the dental assistant- Shes great! When I came in I told them about my previous over priced cleaning experience and how I felt the need to switch providers. Dr. Hopp Pham emphasized with me and did not charge me for an x-ray (The one my previous provider gave me was not clear). My previous provider told me I needed 6 fillings. Dr. Hopp Pham said that only 2 were necessary. What a relief! At this point I knew I went to the right place. He had my best interest and believed in my abilities to maintain my teeth - using a preventative method instead of going forward and drilling a bunch of holes in my teeth. When I came back for my fillings, he was very verbal throughout the entire process so I knew exactly what was going on. What was super interesting was that he numbed a nerve in my mouth.. and not just the section where the teeth was. In my previous experiences they would just numb around my teeth- maybe its been that long since I have had a filling, but I thought that was a great advantage to just numb the nerve so I couldn't feel anything. Because of this, I felt insured that it wouldn't hurt and it didn't! Britsy coordinated well and was very accommodating- I was surprised she did so much and had a significant role. She communicated with my insurance well and billed for me. Everything went smoothly and I walked out happy. The numbness went away after 40 mins and the fillings look camouflage to my teeth. Overall, easy parking, beautiful building, beautiful people (Dr. Hopp Pham is really handsome hahah), fair priced, great experience! Would definitely recommend. I am really glad to have found this place and Dr. Hopp Pham is the best dental provider I have experienced, hands down. read more

*MUST GO HERE* Alright, I think I've been on a dental tour as long as I've been on my nail salon tour. A couple were "okay," but that was as good as one ever got. I'm apparently very particular about my nails and teeth. I have yet to find one dentist that I actually like and feel comfortable going to in all aspects...until I found this place. Actually, I only went because another dentist introduced me...go figure right? Ratings (out of 10) Ambiance = 9 It's not flashy or anything like that, but very comfy and cozy. The chair is super comfy. Although, their selection of reading material in the waiting area is um...not what I'm use to. But, I guess that's okay since I was on time and so were they. Dental Care/Treatment = 10 Surprisingly...FANTASTIC! The dentist (Dr. Pham) was very thorough and gentle. You wouldn't think for such a tall man with not-so-girly hands. Seriously, how does he work on those little teeth with those little tools? Oh, but this is the coolest thing ever! It was all about me! He didn't leave me to go work on another patient like every dentist I've been to has. To tell you the truth, that's one of the main reasons why I don't like going to the dentist. I don't like being left alone with the spit sucker hanging in my mouth staring at the lights wondering what the dentist will do next or when he will come back...I think that's why dental offices have things to distract you like movies. I actually like being told what's going on, so I hope this place doesn't start doing that. Staff = 10 Christina the assistant is awesome, friendly and super nice, and so is Dr. Pham. Oh, I didn't really understand something about the procedure and he drew it for me. How cool is that! One more thing for the ladies though...I'd have to say, Dr. Pham doesn't look like your "typical dentist." You'll have to go and see for yourself ;) Overall = 9.5 It would have been a 10 if I didn't keep passing the building. Not my fault, theirs. I mapquested it ;) The building needs a sign or something, but I made sure I know where it is because I am definitely coming back because I finally found a great dentist...thank goodness. read more

If you're a friend, than you know my standards for a dentist. I've seen it all - crazy ones, stupid ones, and just plain dumb ones (yes, there is a difference between stupid and dumb). And then there are great ones - Dr. Pham at North Valley Dental. Van B was a first time patient here yesterday/Friday morning. Because his insurance was going to expired, he looked for someone on Yelp and stumbled upon North Valley Dental. They were super professional, nice, and did not try to up-sale or talk him into getting something unnecessary done. They were straight with him. The cleaning is super, doesn't hurt, and the whole experience is worth it. I'm planning I going to visit Dr. Pham myself now that I've heard Van B brag. I'm a new patient to Dr. Pham but I could not be more impressed with my care! The front desk staffs were incredibly friendly and helpful during my visit, as well as on the phone when I call. I came here for a teeth cleaning and to follow up on some pain I've been having. Dr. Pham was very thorough, and took some x-rays to determine the health status of my teeth (last dentist visit was over 5 years ago). He informed me of everything he was doing without pushing any unneeded service. Also liked the fact that he did not discourage my coffee/tea obsession, but instead gave me tips on how to prevent teeth staining when I do fancy a cup. I really like Dr. Pham and the staff in this dental office. They are really nice and gentle - it's particularly important because we are all so used to horror dental office visits. They are very professional and have great customer service. One time, I actually forgot about an appointment! They were so nice about it - they just said we'll reschedule you. No questions asked. I've been seeing Dr. Pham for 2 years now and I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. He's extremely knowledgeable and you can tell he really cares about his patients. Their well-being is his top priority. He takes the time to answer questions (and I always have many!) and fully explain all options. My mom doesn't have dental insurance and usually gets all her work done in China. She was in town when her temporary crown fell out. I took her to see Dr. Pham and not only did he recommend the most cost-effective action (which was to wait to see her Dentist in China for a permanent solution), he even put in a temporary filling in another tooth for free! I've been a patient for 2 years and I couldn't be happier. This office is conveniently located off 680 and Montague and is in a beautiful medical office complex with plenty of parking. The office is always spotless and staff always greets me by first name when I come in. Angela at the front desk is very attentive and will call you a few weeks out to remind you of your appointment, as well as the day before. Angles the dental hygienist is a godsend, she is so gentle with my teeth and explains everything.
