What a scam these people are running! Their taxes (public info, I highly encourage you to see for…read moreyourself) show they bring in almost $2million per year, and only work 5 hours a week each. They put very little time and money towards the animals and always claim to be "out of room" or "full". If they make so much, why are they not expanding? Oh wait, they are! A direct quote from a Q and A to them recently: "How much have you expanded since 2020?" Their direct quote answer: "4." 4?? 4!! In 2 years, with almost $2million a year, and they've only expanded by 4!? Are you kidding me?! Their direct quote as an answer to that: "well, it's hard to get contractors to do it," ect. Blah, blah, blah. So you mean to tell me that out of all the contractors in Jonesboro, Paragould, and allllll the other surrounding areas, NONE will allow themselves to be hired for your organization? If that doesn't speak for itself than I don't know what does! Guess what else I've learned by looking at their taxes - the organization works for themselves. They call themselves "employees", not "volunteers", which confirms further what their taxes report - they're cutting themselves a paycheck out of what is donated to the animals! Hundreds of thousands in salaries in fact! Non-profit my ass! It's as bad as getting a check from the government for the child you adopted and giving yourself a manicure with the money instead of using it for the child! If they wanted a career with it, don't claim it's non-profit, and spend more time with the animals or with the organization! They need love, care, bonding, and socialization! What does 5 hours per week per person provide enough time for with 60 animals? If I were to guess, it's only enough time to feed and water and clean up after them. Talk about animal inprisonment! They're like inmates, here's your food, water, a place to crap, and a roof over your head. See ya on the other side once someone bails you out! Pathetic! How about using the money to do what it's donated for? Like expanding, better, upgraded facilities, animal food pantry, donating to animals in need and other organizations or to people who need help with vet fees. Speaking of vet fees, lower your adoption fees! Everyone knows that vets help organizations with vaccination, spay, and neuter fees, by reduced fees and sometimes not even charging anything at all depending on the vet, so stop claiming the adoption fees are to cover vet fees. By the way, their backup reason doesn't work either (another direct quote): "If people can't afford a $160 dog then they can't afford to take care of it." What a slap in the face to those with pets who are poor or in poverty! And also, so not true! Name a time someone spent $160 on a trip to get dog/cat food for their dogs/cats. Most people have 1-3 dogs or cats per household. Look it up. And I highly doubt 1-3 dogs/cats can even eat $160 worth of dog/cat food bags per week. This whole organization is based on lies and scams. I've only discussed the most obvious in this review. To go over the rest would take days. And by the way, I WANT A REFUND FOR ALL MY DONATIONS I'VE MADE TO YOUR ORGANIZATION, and i think you should all resign and let someone else take over who puts the animals and organization first!

Deeply Disappointing and Negative Experience with Second Chance Rescue of Hardy, Arkansas…read more We are writing to formally express our extreme disappointment and serious concerns about our adoption experience with Second Chance Rescue of Hardy, Arkansas (SCoH), an organization affiliated with Petfinder. We adopted a dog listed on Petfinder. Kimberly Solimine was our sole point of contact. After paying the $700 adoption fee (which included promised transportation), communication dropped entirely. Emails and texts went unanswered. We waited more than six weeks for transport. When told it would be delayed another two weeks, we drove seven hours ourselves to pick her up out of concern. No transportation refund was offered. Upon arriving home, we took her straight to our veterinarian. We were shocked to discover multiple undisclosed health issues: - Confirmed heartworm disease (requiring immediate and ongoing treatment - Severe bilateral ear infections - Two hot spots (one classified as severe) - Dental problems, including a broken tooth and others that may need extraction - Active fleas - Extremely filthy coat with a strong ammonia smell, as if she had been kept in urine-soaked conditions - Two unregistered microchips (neither disclosed nor registered) The Petfinder profile described the dog as being in "great health," up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, receiving regular vet check-ups, well-behaved, affectionate, loving walks, and great with people. In our experience, almost none of that matched: she arrived in poor condition, shows fear of strangers (shaking), panics on a leash, and appears to have had very little positive human interaction or exercise. The rescue's own website states that all animals receive "complete medical care, microchips, flea/tick preventative, vaccines, spay/neuter, worming, and health checks." Our dog's condition upon arrival does not align with that claim. Additional issues we encountered: - No physical rabies tag -- only a photo of paperwork showing an expired date (02/09/16). - No detailed medical records, vaccination history - No adoption interview or home check -- we were never asked any questions about our suitability. - No transparency about the facility (no visits allowed, no photos posted). We strongly believe Petfinder should review its partnership with this organization. Adopters deserve transparency, accurate descriptions, and animals that have received the care they are advertised as having received. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Second Chance Rescue of Hardy. Proceed with extreme caution if you are considering adopting from them.
