I am so disappointed in this company. I trusted the person (Scott) who sold me the fence two years ago. In fact, their bid was higher than others but I had such confidence in the company that I accepted it. Four posts have broken off at the base and I am waiting for information on when they will be fixed. My warranty is for 5 years; I have 3 more years left. Are they trying to wait me out? read more

Requested a quote , guy came out took measurements and left promising me a quote within 24hrs. I called them twice , leaving messages both times asking where my quote was still no response. Lack of business communication and filled with lies. Go elsewhere and don't get them your business they apparently don't want it. read more

Northeast Ohio fence and deck put up a 6 ft high white vinyl fence and it turned out and looks beautiful. They were very helpful and very easy to work with and Bob the sales representative explained everything perfectly to me and the workers that put up the fence did an excellent job. This is really a tale of 2 fence companies. So, my story starts with asking for a quote in February at the home show in Cleveland (you know, before the world stopped). We have a fairly straightforward yard and our fence was falling down (because it was improperly installed prior to buying my home). We also wanted to finance this, as it is a large purchase and I just prefer to pay for things this way. They are the only company I found that finances. I got other quotes and this one was lower, but they were still comparable. The sales rep also made it seem like this would be a fairly simple fence and that there wouldn't need to be any big things I would need to do to prepare for them. So, we decided to go with the company. I will admit, we did wait for 3-4 weeks between getting other quotes and you know, COVID starting with daily changes in life. So I told them I wanted to sign paperwork and was told that I needed a survey paper that I didn't have. It was told to me that I needed it for the permit. So, instead of helping me, I tracked down the code officer (which keep in mind many parts of the local government were closed). He told me this was necessary and told me to print out the online map (where I live is really a box that is fairly obvious). So, I sent this information and didn't hear back for quite awhile. I would call repeatedly and was blown off a bit. I got other quotes in this time, but everyone else had extremely long wait times. I then contacted the office and was pretty forceful and was told that they didn't even have my paperwork. So then I was told that the quote is now higher as the price of materials went up. After going back and forth, I did sign the contract. At this point, it is September. I will say there was intermittent follow up in this time. In December, I got a 1 day notice they were coming and I needed to have my driveway completely cleared (keep in mind this was also the same day as the first large snow storm). I told them no because we had a 6 foot snow drift in from the fence and I wasn't going to be able to clear it. They did accommodate me the next week. The installation went great. I think that the fence looks sturdy and is about what I believed it would be. They were also quick and didn't come too early (to the joy of my husband). So I guess installation is a 4.5, sales is a -1. I also didn't like that they wouldn't honor their original quote after ignoring me for months (which I think is because I was a smaller job). read more

By far the worst contractor that I have ever tried to hire. No communication, possibly even shady practice. TLDR: After sales visit & paid deposit there was no work & no response. Company kept % of deposit on cancelling despite no attempt to communicate or complete the work. I hired this company to put in a back yard fence. The estimate was abt $2500 and I paid an $875 deposit. During the sales visit had asked for layouts on a couple different possibilities and spoke about property line permits etc. The salesman assured me he would be in touch and said that due to lumber shortages and high work volume that there would be a delay. OK, that's reasonable. After that original in-person visit I did not receive any response. At that time I was asking for estimates on work that I was considering adding on. At about the 4 month mark (when work should have been starting) I called the office asking if I needed to pull the permits. The office worker asked me to send my property line information, which I did. Two months (and several unanswered emails) later I still had not heard anything. Total silence. At this point I was becoming very uncomfortable with hiring this company. If they did not communicate during the sales process what would happen if they installed and there was an issue? I reached out several more times and still no response. At this point I just want to cancel. And to reiterate - it has now been months since I gave them $875 and have not heard a peep since. ----When I call to cancel I get a line about shortages and busyness. I get it. I'm not trying to be unreasonable. But I'm not comfortable, I have too many unanswered emails to feel good about this. The office worker says there is a backlog of permits in the City of Cleveland. It is the City's fault, they couldn't get my permit yet. To this I say, 'ok, well just cancel, strike it.' -----I'm put on a long hold. It is hard to judge holds because they all feel long but this was probably like a ten minute hold. The company person comes back and says that if I don't cancel they can be at my house next week. And if I do cancel they will only partially refund me. Um, so I thought there was a log jam at the permit office? This doesn't smell right. No thanks. Reader: I'm out $400 but wasn't willing to throw good money after bad. Maybe they do good work when they get around to doing it, I don't know. Wish I did, I wanted the fence. Instead I got frustration and a real slimly feeling about this entire operation. . Business Owner: I'm not in the habit of giving bad reviews. This one really got under my skin. For me this was a lot of money, a lot of want (for my dog) and a really crappy experience. Delays are expected, that's life. The complete lack of customer service and basic human kindness is what is unforgiveable. I had a great experience with them! We had so many road blocks with city permits, and they did everything they could to save me money and put up my privacy fence. Pricing is comparable to other places but they were willing to help for my budget and take the extra step and my sales rep was great as well. The only thing I would say could improve the experience is if they gave you instructions on care for the fence. BUT they still might I have yet to pay and finalize now that the fence is erected. read more

I had been looking for a company to have a gate for my driveway and also a partial fence in yard, met with Scott from NEO fence, very nice man, told me about the company made me feel like he really cared (that was a joke). Went over the gate chain link fence and wood fence for the yard. Scott told me he would send the contract to my email the next day. Well i am still waiting, I even emailed him, no response. I went with another company Excellent service, great salesman Michael, went over the amount for the gate and fence, called me about the city information, he worked with me. Terrible communication. They said they would call me with quote and I had to constantly call and ask for it. I was made to fell as though don't care. Bad sales rep. When I finally got my quote the materials it had the wrong materials and wasn't for what I asked. Again didn't listen to what type of fence I wanted. So if you want to use a company that could care less about follow up and doesn't listen to you then this is your company otherwise I wouldn't have them do anything for me. read more

We are happy to say, we don't have to deal with NEO again! Save your time, energy and choose anyone but these individuals. First, the labors who put the actual fence in are wonderful. The sales rep, Heather from the office and Mr. Randal (supposedly the owner) do not communicate at all. Through this extremely lengthy process of the sales rep wrong print, to be given a few quotes to be told the previous one was wrong, to Heather communicating to the sales rep that we were going to not pay and the sales rep calling us to confirm, to the head of the labors coming to finish the fence because the order never got to him, to him saying he would be back that day or first thing the next morning to put up the temp fence-which he never did-they dropped the material for my husband and i to put up-the amount of phone calls in one afternoon was 7-from Heather and the sales rep to clarify what the other person said. we felt like we were the recess monitor among these two. When asked if we could speak with Mr.Randall-he has no land line to leave message and his cell phone is his personal and Heather is not allowed to give it out. No business phone but yet an owner. He had no communication with us nor did he reach out regarding the concerns. Was even told I wouldn't hear from him and he won't return any of our messages. We currently have reached out to our Mayor to share our story so no one else has to go through this! And social media is being used as well as legal reviewing this process. The neighbors that have asked who we used-we assure them not to use NEO Fence!!! And have steered them in another direction. We spent over $6000 for our fence but felt like we spent millions with their disrespect, dishonesty and a company that has you feeling degraded!!! read more

My experience with this company can only be described as a bit strange. In an effort to not make this review too long, I will try to summarize by saying that there seemed to be a disconnect between what the salesperson and I agreed to and what the company's products and abilities are. The order was quite clear, the type of wood, the type of gate. The request was actually pretty standard, especially the gate. If you do any research on a residential gate they all have some standard features, and therefore why would someone expect anything different? The wood on the other hand does have a few more variations, however the request was clear on my preference. Again, the request was pretty basic. Not only did I specify what I wanted, but what I didn't want. Unfortunately for me, the salesperson only outlined what I wanted but didn't specify this company's standards. The office was responsive with my concerns, the installers were very accommodating and so the customer service response time for both the initial installation and the follow up was good. The installers had to work around this particular company's products and so I certainly felt bad for them having to get caught in the middle of trying to fix the communication gap. After thinking about where was all the confusion, the conclusion is the salesperson could not have known what this particular company does and does not do. The company rep I spoke with seems to be the type to think that his commercial looking gate that in no way belongs on a residential driveway is the best ever. Their website claims they can customize their fences based on customer request, but I would certainly disagree with that claim. My requests were pretty basic, and yet because it wasn't their normal way of doing it, it was only being done to satisfy me as a customer(yes I was told this). There were a few other items that had to be addressed, but were minor. I can't say whether or not I would recommend them. Unfortunately, because they do things a bit different then what you would expect, it seems a bit risky. I guess the only thing I can suggest is to not leave anything up for interpretation and be sure that the specifics of what you want and don't want are on the proposal. Communication is a transaction and both parties have to be in agreement on their definition of "standards and products." I generally have project proposals done by the actual person who will be doing the work and after this experience of going through a salesman and the communication meltdown that occurred, I think I will go back to what I know works. Again, this experience just seemed strange and so I am a bit perplexed on what occurred. I hope my comments will be of assistance. read more

I love my fence. The workers were professional had proper paperwork dealt with my neighbors, it looks beautiful. Because of this great experience I called them to do my deck, whih turned out not to be a great experience. The floor boards buckled which you may expect with wood, but it was the next day and when Iasked them to come out it was a problem. Then when Iasked why there was no caulking...when they finally caulked it was a mess. Great for fences not for decks. read more
