What was going to be a one day fix ended up taking two days of work as we discovered the old problems,and fixed them, but he was hard at work the entire time. Saw him work for hours with a spade clearing dirt around the abandoned gas line when the bucket digger would have been too risky. He wasn't cheap. But he was prompt, professional, and solved a problem that had existed on again off again for years that ultimately ended up arising because last time the line was worked on, they went cheap instead. He called and the first thing he said was "I'm not going over THAT bridge!" He has never been to my property, to my knowledge, and when I asked why, he refused to answer me, just kept repeating the same thing. I told him I possibly had a blockage and needed my tank pumped, so did he have any suggestions for me. He told me to "call everyone in the phone book" and hung up on me! I have a small concrete bridge that leads to my house and a large truck may have a problem coming across this bridge. I was told by other companies that this person had a smaller truck and would be able to make it across the bridge. My husband asked if he had a single-axle truck and he said he did, but he wasn't coming across the bridge! No reason, just that he wasn't doing it! He was rude and condescending, and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone that wants to have their septic tank pumped! Fast forward to today. He called me and thanked me, sarcastically, for my Google review (1 star) and said that because I told him I had sewage in my backyard he was going to do me a favor and call the Health Department for me! Keep in mind that he has never been to my home, nor has he seen my yard nor did I tell him I had sewage in my yard. I pleasantly thanked him and hung up on him! There is no value in receiving service from any business that refuses to respond to phone calls if they don't want your business. They should, at the very least, let you know they are not interested. And then they should treat you with some level of respect when they know you have a need for their service. This business does neither! I also did a review on Google which Jeff responded to initially, then stated it is a fictitious complaint because I an not a customer. Started the project last Aug and by Nov after countless phone calls and Lies on top of Lies nothing was done. I stop by the Shop he met me at the door, I asked when he was going to finish are problem, Lied to again! Next time i went to visit him at the shop i ask the Police to go with me, as the last meeting did not go well, They said they could not it was a civil case. Went to the Shop, once again meet at the door, telling me he was not comfortable with my hand in my hoodie. We had words about him not doing what was written and promised. He told me to leave because he was a MMA fighter and he was going to kick my Ass. i drove down the road a bit and Nolan called me threading me if i ever came back. Then the little Man (Nolan) called the Conneaut Police on me saying i threaten to shoot him!! All Lies. He then called my wife giving her some sob story, and that him or none of his crew could come back because of getting Shot. All Lies from start to finish. When I decided to sell my house, I hired Cole's to inspect my septic system so I could get thigs…read morefixed so it could pass inspection. They said my septic tanks were fine but the water level in the distribution boxes was too high. They said that the crumbling D-boxes were letting ground water enter the leach fields. They recommended I replace all 5 D-boxes and get the lines hydro-jetted. I paid them $5000 for that work but noticed that the water level was still too high. They came back out and recommended I get a TerraLift process for another $1600. While I was waiting for them to do that, the buyer hired an inspector, and he found that the tanks were crumbling, and the leach field was too old (48 years) and unable to absorb enough water. Since the septic system failed inspection, the buyer is making me replace the entire system. I researched the TerraLift process that Cole's recommended and found a lot of bad press on it. It's banned in many townships because it could allow sewer water to enter the water table. Other articles said that it's, at best, a temporary solution. Cole's is the only septic service company I could find that offers this service. Every other company I called said it's a waste of money (and potentially illegal). So, Cole's inspection didn't catch the fact that the tanks were in bad shape, and had me pay $5000 for work that didn't bring the system up to spec. They also recommended a questionable service to fix the problem.
