I'd like to say as an out of state investor, Parsons came in clutch when the duplex I just bought came up with big plumbing issues. We needed someone to come out quick and be transparent with what needed to be done. I initially went with a different vendor that had the rudest customer service and it was such a turn off. I called and Cindy was responsive and was able to get Allen out there right away. They did great work digging up a pipe and laying out concrete in our basement floor so we can get the duplex ready for rent. Parsons was hired and paid last summer to complete running a gas line from our pool heater to the gas meter. A year later during a safety check the gas co knocked on our door and told us they were shutting off our gas for a safety issue and tampering of their equipment. After calling Parsons to explain the situation they admitted fault and sent out someone to address the issue so that gas co could come back to inspect. However, this mistake cost us $1500 in new equipment from the Gas co, which he refused to pay or even offer to , and actually told me "good luck". do not hire this company, they are the horrible plumbing service out there. a plumber came to my house and took it upon himself to just start ripping apart my outside faucet and removed a 300.00 part that could not be replaced. no consultation, nothing, and he knew it was a part you could not just reinstall. you had to have a new part all together. the company dod not tale responsibility whatsoever and im still without water and diswasher which the dismantled and just left it in pieces. bad news read more

I hired this service to install a dog grooming tub. I also needed my washing machine hose re-routed as it had been emptying into the sink that was already there. I was not given any sort of estimate when I called to make the appointment, but the lady who talked to me was very nice and I really thought she took notes on what I was requesting. When the plumber came, I went down and showed him what I wanted and told him my budget (my fault for that). He told me that the bill would be near my budget, but wouldn't go above that. I told my boyfriend and he was livid, but I kinda just shooed him.... Until I saw on my camera that was in my basement that this plumber was ripping out WAAAAAAY more copper plumbing that he had originally told me. No explanation, no heads up. Just full on hanging onto my copper plumbing and ripping it out when everything was ALREADY THERE. My boyfriend got home and looked at how much was done and was pissed. This plumber did WAY MORE than we had agreed on with the piping....but then, he didn't re-route my washer hose, he just put it in a hole that was already in the side of my tub, four feet high! So, now I have to find a better solution to that. He also didn't put any sort of drain cover back on the floor drain and left his trash EVERYWHERE despite there being a big trash can RIGHT THERE. He told me his boss wanted to charge me almost $400 over my budget, but he never once had mentioned that this would be more work than what we talked about. This plumber made this job 3.5 hrs and was gone for over an hour and a half in total. I'm not sure why plumbers don't have supplies in their vans already, but whatever. The plumber was polite, but I feel like he would've had way more communication with a man than he did with me. At the end, his boss called me and started screaming at me, so I handed the phone to my boyfriend, took my credit card and went out to the plumber in his van. He told me his boss wanted to charge me $1,300, but he brought it down to $900. Whatever. I got the invoice and it wasn't $900, it was $963, so he wasn't even truthful with the final price. When I went back down, my brand new tub had all of these black marks ALL over it that still won't come off; It just smears the more I try to scrub it. I'm really dissatisfied with the communication, the damage to my brand new tub and the trash that was left everywhere. Not to mention what WASN'T done that I had requested. Horrible experience. Basically got dooped for 2k. He was very nice from the start and even replaced the toilet because he thought that was the issue but it was not. He cut open a pipe and realized that it collapsed underneath my driveway. The next time, he was at my house for 3.5 hours and it cost me $1,650. He said there was nothing else he could do and I would need to find someone to take this on. I asked so how do you handle this because I already sent you a check in advance? He basically said his bill was his bill and it is what it is. He snaked my drain and it cost me a chunk of change. Now if he had to bill be for his time / materials, I completely understand. I'm sorry but if I had to do a job and it didn't get done, I would at least refund something to the client rather than just this is what it is. I shouldn't have sent in a check in advance. I never dealt with a plumbing issue so this was a tough lesson. If I could put 0 starts I would have. Be aware Wow, and he commented saying "WE NEVER WORKED FOR THIS PERSON"... unbelievable..... I googled his business then texted / called him. Never was from Facebook. Here are some pics of what he did. Again, he cut out a hole, snaked it and couldn't get through. Then patched it with concrete. Here's the check totaling to $2,045 (what the invoice stated) because my bank account says differently (cut out my bank account #, routing # and street address). Lee came out to repair our hot water tank. He repaired a valve. Seems simple doesn't it, but for $215 our hot water tank still wasn't working . Probably because Lee didn't relight the pilot light to restart the hot water tank! He was too busy trying to sell us another service for $475!! I know for a fact that he didn't try to relight the pilot light because the gas valve to the hot water tank was still closed when Lee left the house...so if you want a salesman for a repairman, call Parsons Plumbing. read more

If a business has only one review and it's a five-star, you might wonder whether the company (and the reviewer) are legit. Yes, this is a good company-- Allen is awful at sales and marketing. Plumbing, he's terrific at. I've used him twice. The first call was when the kitchen sink clogged. I tried plunging it-- and the pipes separated. I started calling vendors with high reviews at 8:30 and left messages. At around 11:30, after nobody responded, I started checking listings I'd passed on. Parsons Plumbing (which didn't have any reviews) also didn't have a website. But it DID have a Facebook page. The latest post was "We just got the logo painted on the truck!", which suggested he was new. He had a couple of videos of work-- they seemed fine. Called the number and heard "Hi, this is Allen." So I got his cell. Told him the problem-- also mentioned I had a sump pump in the basement that wasn't working. "Yeah, I can come out there today. Give me a couple of hours." He was about 20 minutes late. But he was there same day. If you've dealt with plumbers, you know how rare that is. Also, the company is located in Willowick (Lake County) and I live on the southwest corner of Cuyahoga-- five minutes from both Lorain and Medina. Most vendors aren't willing to drive that far. He and Ryan snaked the drain, and then had to figure out how to reconstruct it. (The plumbing, like a lot of things in the house, had been 'improved' by the previous homeowner, who was a contractor). It took some futzing with a Sawzall and some experimentation, but they figured that out. Onto the basement. Decided they needed to replace the check (backflow) valve. They check the truck; turns out they'd used all the ones in the truck and forgotten to restock. Had to go to a store to get one. (While they were gone, I ran the dishwasher on rinse to see if they got the sink right. Yup.) "When was the last time you had the tank pumped?" About three months ago. "OK, this shouldn't be too bad." Visions of my 1,000-gallon septic tank emptying into the basement filled my head, but they needed only two buckets. They charged about what other places would charge for two hours work. Very good, for a two-man, same-day visit. Last week, I tried to take a shower and got cold water. The internet explained it was probably a bad thermocouple-- an easy fix for a homeowner. I decided to call Allen anyway. I called at 3:30. Told him I think me he could be out there the next day at 12:30 and asked me to text him some photos. Next morning he texts me: "I'm gonna be honest. If the tank is 12 years old, you might really want to consider replacing the tank, rather than throw money at it. " My first response was to say "let me think about it." He replied "I'll come out and fix the thermocouple if you really want, but I think you'd be better off replacing the tank." I checked. Turned out 8-12 years is normal lifecycle. He gave me a flat price that was about $200 more than I'd paid in 2008. He had to go buy a model that would fit my home, so it delayed the visit a day. But he was out next afternoon and got it done. Had to 'borrow' a wire hanger to clear a clog in the drain line; the tank was so filled with sediment that it took 35 minutes to drain. Also, he and Ryan had to muscle the tank out, because they forgot to load the dolly on the truck that morning. But he got it done. Because I didn't recognize the brand name of the unit he used, and I noticed their warranty was six years (my old one had been 12), I quizzed Allen about both things. He explained the issues to my satisfaction. I checked the internet after he left-- and it turned out he was correct. I'm going into the details (including the warts) to make it clear that it's a new company, with all that entails. Allen had been working for two large vendors for about a decade before he decided to strike out in 2018 (the year the business was founded is in its gmail address). Yes, an established firm with 10 crews and a warehouse would do things differently. (There would have been a video on why Bradford-White water heaters are best). But those companies don't always return your calls. They often turn jobs down because they're busy. They usually don't get out same-day or next business day. And they don't like to answer questions. Not honestly, at least. When you call Parsons Plumbing, you talk to the owner. He comes out on every job. He doesn't BS-- and he answers dumb questions (electrical and carpentry I know; plumbing I'm still hopeless on) patiently. I've used half a dozen plumbers since I bought this house: some retired, others went under, others ripped me off or were inept. I had a new counter top installed by a different contractor. My sink was on an island. I got a quote from them to modify the vent line and hookup the new faucet, soap dispenser, and garbage disposal. The vent line was abs pipe which I told them when I made the appointment. I made a drawing that showed they would need four abs fittings. His plan was to replace the abs with PVC pipe and use flexible connections to the remaining abs. PVC pipe cannot be cemented to abs. This drove up the costs and I didn't want flexible connectors. The only reason I could see for switching to PVC was he didn't have abs on his truck or he didn't know how to work with abs. The verbal quote for the rest of the job was also very high.
