I was seen by the doctors at NSS due to a medical dental emergency. I was seen quickly. I was given information and options. It was determined that an old root canal had cracked leading to a bacterial infection. My tooth was removed and within several hours I started feeling healthier. I called and they really didn't care about any medical problem he was suffering from. They offered an appointment two months later for a consult. Seriously, going to wait with an infected mouth and tooth in for a couple more months? So I had to have my wisdom teeth removed. One was very compacted. For the after care he prescribed me 600mg of Motrin and 5/325 of oxycodone 6 to be exact. By day three one side of my face was so swollen it was the size of a softball! What he gave me for pain did absolutely nothing to help me. I called and he WOULD not prescribe me better pain medicine. He treated me like I wasn't in pain and that I wanted to pop pills! How dare you! I don't know maybe it was because I'm on state insurance. So I was less important then paid insurance. Don't go to there if you have state insurance or need help after surgery for pain. You might as well go to the ER because that's what I had to do. And they were STUNNED with how I looked! BEWARE! I give this place no stars whatsoever! Although the nurses and receptionists are nice they don't seem to care what happens after they pull your teeth. I had a tooth pulled yesterday morning and I've called three times and they keep telling me there is nothing they can do for me except take more ibuprofen and aspirin, which i told them I've already been taking 1500mg extra strength tylenol along with 1 600 mg ibuprofen every three hours but i guess that's not hurting my liver enough. read more

I never noticed a television program that bothered me maybe because Dr. Condry brought me back after waiting about five minutes. I had a bad experience with Dr. James D. Condry at Northeast Surgical Specialists when I went in for a tooth extraction two days ago. I expect that the dental care I received was fine. The problem had to do with the overall office experience. They had a TV in the waiting room tuned in to FOX News, blaring it at full volume. I tried to move as far away from the TV as I could get, but there was no escaping the noise. When the anchor blathered something involving the words "Obama" and "liar" I'd finally had enough. I was already stressed enough about having to have a tooth pulled. Being forced to listen to verifiably propagandistic and incendiary broadcasts, denigrating our president, right before I was about to have oral surgery, was the most unprofessional situation I'd ever found myself in a medical office. In order to try and calm down, I told the receptionist that because of what was on the TV I would wait outside and they could come find me there when they were ready to take me. I had to go sit in my car, in 90 degree heat, for more than five minutes while I waited for them to come get me. Once inside, Dr. Condry came in and cheerfully asked me how I was doing today. I told him I wasn't doing so well and told him why. Then I asked if FOX News represented the position of this practice (Northeast Surgical Specialists). He didn't answer my question but just asked, "What do we have to do to get past this?" I said I didn't know but I was astounded that they would be airing such biased programs in a professional office serving a broad clientele. He responded that he thought it was a "nice neutral program" (exact quote). There was some more back and forth during which he defended his choice to broadcast FOX in his waiting room followed by a contradictory claim that he really didn't know what they had on the TV out there because that was the realm of the front office staff. I seriously thought about walking out, but I just wanted to get the whole thing over with so I toughed it out and let him pull my tooth. When I got home I checked out Dr. Condry's Facebook page. I found the answer to the question I'd asked him - the question he wouldn't answer: Does FOX News represent the position of his practice (Northeast Surgical Specialists)? Based on his Facebook postings I think it's pretty clear the answer is yes. There were posts blatantly denigrating immigrants, Muslims, African Americans, and welfare recipients, just to name a few. I recognize that this was his personal Facebook page, but its views were reflected in the atmosphere created in his waiting room. Though I myself am Caucasian, my family is one of mixed race; as such I feel that we are the targets of the racially charged venom Dr. Condry promotes both personally and in his office. His office was a hostile unsafe atmosphere for me to have to walk into. I would never go there again. We're all entitled to our positions; but when you run a business serving the general public, that public should not have to be subjected to your partisan preaching when they come in seeking your services - especially when the services they're seeking are medical in nature. I think this is outrageous. read more
