This may not be the biggest of playgrounds but it does have a good blend of equipment for different ages....and it's new! As far as a quiet neighbourhood playground goes, this is great. I couldn't see if there was a drinking fountain but the norm for Mitcham Council is that there wouldn't be one. If you're a local, this may not be a big deal but it's something that I like to see at playgrounds. There isn't a lot of shade apart from that cast by the gorgeous trees but that falls mostly on the lawn area and not the playground. The whole area is fully fenced and while that usually means (for Mitcham Council at least) that dogs aren't allowed, I didn't see any signs saying that.

Hidden gem for parents…read more My employer held its family Christmas BBQ here last year. The highlight was watching a small kid try to operate a big water fountain. To reach the spout he had to let go of the button. He was pretty quick! ...but not quick enough for a drink. Solid entertainment, until mum came to the rescue and held the button. Lots of positives: Being out front of the Aquatic Centre ensures adequate parking, clean toilets and added safety. Soft mats or sand surround all equipment, with a fence around the lot to keep 'em caged in. Outside of the fencing are two BBQ's, and of course there's the Aquatic Centre kiosk for treats. Don't forget hats and sunscreen, as the equipment's not shaded; however, there is a gazebo. Slides, forts, a small flying fox, a wheel chair swing (requires key from Aquatic Centre during opening hours) a four way swing and a maze. Your kids will love it. The little shits won't want to leave.

This is an awesome place for Primary School aged children as well as younger children. There's a lot of rubber flooring, drinking fountain and toilets aren't too far away. There wasn't a great deal of shade over the playground or for those of us parents who sat on the lawn. There is a sheltered seating area closer to the playground (not that anything is too far from anything else) but with the number of families that come through this playground in a day, you would need to get in early for a table. The whole playground is fenced and there are BBQs and table/chairs under the pine trees just outside the fence also. There is just SO much here for children to play on. The playground is sparkly new! And it's Shaded!…read more This is a great kid friendly park. The play equipment is bright and up to date. My only concern is its on a lake so the little kids need constant supervision as the playground is missing a gate, but the plus of this is the duckies, swans and other native birds. With toilets, bbq, plenty of picnic tables it's a great relaxing free destination.

What this area is lacking is some shade. My goodness I felt hot and uncomfortable just looking at the place. I would recommend adults to check the equipment before little ones get their hands onto equipment that is too hot. This is one of those parks that brings back an awful lot of memories from my childhood, namely…read morebecause whenever we went down to Brighton on of the Adelaide's many nice summer days, we would end up setting up camp here, namely because there was plenty of facilities for a large group of people. It is pretty convenient in that it is just across the road from the beach, and there are facilities here that one can use to change, or wash down. Yeah, it's a pretty nice, and quite handly, place to spend some time.

It was good though, just not what I thought it would be. It is however an Access For All playground so there's a ramp for those children in wheel chairs. This is a park designed for toddlers. I really liked that the toilets are close by but wish there was more (or anything!) in the way of shade. There's a BBQ and a sheltered table/chair area just in front of the toilets. There are trees around the perimeter of the reserve which could cast some shade on parts of the playground during certain times of the day. The equipment is suited to Primary School aged children. The reserve isn't fenced and although they aren't particularly busy streets, the playground is relatively close to the road. There is a table/chair for the spectators or a picnic. I wouldn't say this is the most exciting playground that's suited for all age groups, but the younger children would certainly have fun here. There are many trees in the area so dappled shade at certain times of the day would filter over the playground. There isn't a drinking fountain and I guess this playground would be mostly suited to the locals who could have a leisurely walk with the kiddos. Really unless you lived in the few dead end crescents or courts right near here it would be a very unlikely place to ever visit. It does have shade but not water or toilets at all. It's just a nice little space with a grassed area and small playground with bark chips underneath the equipment. Just be cautious if you go here in winter as there is a little creek that is behind it but it was all dried up when I went there.
