I never miss a Sunday and throughly enjoy being there. It took me a while to get comfortable with the large size of the congregation but I can see why so many attend church there. If you are coming from a small church were everyone knows everyone it will be a change, particularly if your church focuses heavily on being social. This church is on a mission to explore the bible and spread the work. I am working on getting more involved in groups with others so I can get to know people and make friends.

My daughter and I moved to Gardiner, Maine, from Austin, Texas, in February of 2024. I anticipated that it might take a year before I really felt part of the something. Boy, was I wrong. If you have stayed away from church because you assumed the atmosphere would be judgy, excluding, "holier than thou", or snobby- I don't see anyone experiencing that here. Do we have rituals honoring God? Yes. Do we sing traditional songs from a hymn book? Yes. Is there a man standing at the front of the room telling us what to believe and the consequences if we don't comply? No, there is a well-educated, compassionate woman who frames the challenges and complexities of a modern world into clearer focus by shining the light of a living and loving God on them. There is good coffee and tasty bits after each service as well as lively conversation. There are many small groups of people working alongside each other in the community to support it and each other. People of every age, from a broad range of backgrounds, of widely varying walks of life, who come from households in several different towns. Whether you are single, married, co-habitating- a student, family of any stripe, or adult seeking a place to find some purpose, you will find an accepting home here.
