Moved into a rental home a couple of months ago. The landlord was up-front about a master-bed closet lighting issue...appeared to have a short and wouldn't light for the vast majority of the time. The adjacent hall light and the attic light above the closet all were affected. The landlord indicated that a similar wiring issue was experienced with neighbors with similar layouts. Called Mike, who gave a very reasonable quote to troubleshoot the issue, stating that the total would go against the cost of repairs. Mike turned out to be very personable and knowledgable and proved to be an excellent communicator in explaining things to me in layman's terms. It wasn't long before he traced all issues back to a faulty neutral wire back in the hall switch rats-nest of wiring. He re-wired that, replaced a switch that looked questionable to him and everything works like a charm now. He then moved on to solve a second electrical issue in a neighboring bathroom. In the end, he charged me the cost of the troubleshooting. I appreciate Mike's honesty, friendliness, and competence and highly recommend him to anyone who has electrical issues. We had 3 so called "electricians" unsuccessfully attempt to find our electrical problems. MHN diligently found and repaired the problem. I was particularly impressed that he explained the problem to me in layman's terms before starting the repair. He also made it a point to show me the problems upon finding them and what needed to be done to fix them. Most of the wires going into my breakers were corroded and exposed. It was already causing shorts and could have caused great danger. He rewired, changed breakers & whatever else it took to properly make the repair. He did quite a bit of trouble shooting and rewiring. Their pricing is competitive & they are honest. The wife said we should get rid of the nasty lighting in the garage so I started doing the research. She decided she wanted to tile it up to to spruce up the man cave. Step one was electrical. We wanted to get rid of the old lights and all the wiring strewn about the garage. We also wanted to drop the sockets down lower as they were half way up the wall. Everything to code of course. I hadn't had much electrical work done in my homes over the years so I went to Yelp for help. My quote request was sent to 5 different companies. Two of them couldn't come out for two weeks, one didn't respond, and the 4th asked how serious I was about my project and only gave me a phone quote. The there was MHN Lighting. Mike from MHN Lighting responded in a timely fashion and asked if he can come out to give me a quote after he finished another job that same day. This was a Saturday. He came out and gave me what seemed to me to be a good price, so i scheduled it for that coming week. They came out on a Wednesday and were done by Thursday. It was a good amount of work. Mike kept me posted throughout and adjusted to little requests I had here and there. He salvaged as much of my drywall as he could so my drywall guys can easily put some of it back. When my drywall guys came out they asked how much MHN charged me for the electrical work. I told them and they said I got a really good deal.
