On 7/31/26 at approximately 1:54 PM (shortly before 2:00 PM), I attempted to purchase alcohol using a valid ID and a debit card I have used at this store plenty of times. The cashier withheld my shared debit card and demanded to see my ID again to check if the names matched. I explained it was a shared account and Visions Bank DOES NOT provide two debit cards because of their banking policy! Which I didn't need to explain but it felt like she was interrogating me like she was a cop! and, I've come here plenty of times with the same payment method and the same cashier had always checked me out! The cashier kept stating "Well I need to know if this other person is also 21 and over". I asked for my card back then so I could leave if she was gonna refuse service. I left the store after she tried to withhold my own debit card from me. I called the store to reach a manager, hoping it was someone else to talk to. The same employee answered and claimed she was the owner/manager. When I explicitly asked for her name, she refused to identify herself (I later found out this may be Nicole Sabato... how shady and unethical of you, Nikki). Her excuses for her behavior changed constantly, moving from "New York State Law" to "store policy." When asked where this policy was posted and why she wasn't providing her name to me, she stated, "I don't have to give you my name, you should just know the law" I told her the mistreatment was unacceptable and hung up. Nowhere at the actual store or their official website and official Facebook page states this private policy, which is Northgate's fault for not enforcing or being clear about this like Nicole claims she did as she was putting more of the blame on her employees rather than herself as the owner. This is also not part of nor enforced by the New York State ABC law under the same requirements for purchasing alcohol with a valid ID, BTW. So, for right now, I think whatever this policy is, is unethical. I am freely writing this review to bring light onto a corrupted situation and corrupted business that should've been handled more professionally with proper accountability and more transparency to their customers. As previous reviews say, this establishment is rude and unprofessional. Idk how this individual who treated me this way could live with themselves or who hurt them. But, attacking customers to get a social media reaction out of them nowadays is embarrassing and cowardly. But, avoid this business at all costs. JC Wegmans liquor store is much cheaper BTW and provides much nicer service and more variety of alcohol to choose from. It's worth the extra drive. read more

We were recently in town for a road trip, and stopped by Northgate go grab some simple libations for concert tailgating. This liquor store is a decent size in an old shopping plaza with plenty of parking. We weren't looking for anything specific or specialty, just easy and reasonably priced. Luckily Northgate had some canned liquor options that met our needs. I went with a zero-calorie Abosolut raspberry lime canned four-pack. My husband found an interesting mixed white russian canned four-pack he had not seen nor tried before. Those ended up being really tasty, very creamy and sweet. And my Absolut cans got the job done for me. The staff was very friendly, prices were reasonable, and we both found something we liked, so all around a good experience here at Northgate for us. read more

I asked the manager / owner for help finding what I wanted. She had to stop putting wine on a shelf, and stormed across the store. What I wanted wasn't there and she said it wasn't any good anyway and wouldn't be getting any more in. I asked her what she recommended and she waved her hand over the shelf and replied , " any of these", and walked away. I couldn't believe how rude she was and I won't be back again. I was not happy with the way my girlfriend and I were treated. Last time I checked we are the customer , you know the people who keep you in business. The pricing was not that great at all either. I wanted to get a friend a variety of Finger Lake Wines as a gift, and decided to check out Northgate Liquor. They have a large area of the store devoted just to Finger Lake Wines and its seems like the majority of vineyards are represented in their selection. The rest of their wine selection is pretty limited, however. Oddly, the do have a pretty good selection of German wines. Didn't explore the liquor side of the store, but its looks like they have everything a person could want. The store itself is big and packed. So if you're in the area, its a decent place to buy your wine and spirits. Their prices seem decent, and they have a 15% discount on mix and match cases. read more

The rudest people I have ever encountered, there is zero customer service. I spend a lot of money there and will no longer be giving them my money. The chip on my debit card doesn't work so it has to be swiped, I was rudely told she couldn't swipe because of fraud, now mind you I have "see ID" on the back of my card and not once has anyone ever asked for my ID or looked at the back of my card. read more

I was in the store earlier today and I can tell you I won't be going back. I overheard the boss talking to one of her employees regarding a health issue and the manager was rude as hell. The sound of the boss's voice and how she responded by laughing at the employee when she was told she had to be taken out of work for a little bit, seriously? I was shocked by how she reacted and I felt bad for the girl and the look on her parent's face. I went up to the parent and voiced my opinion. I have been in that store many, many times and I'm just stunned what I heard. She should be ashamed of herself and I really hope karma comes back to bite her HARD. I went as far as putting my stuff back on shelf and walked out in disbelief. I hope many people see this and think how they treat their employees before you go in and spend your money on ungreatful people. Yes, their prices are cheaper but I would rather spend the extra money at C&D Liquors down the road than to suffer another encounter at this place. The manager is an absolute nightmare of a woman. When I was having a problem purchasing due to my partner not having acceptable ID (he had two forms but I guess that's not enough if you're a minority) despite us both clearly being of age, I asked to speak to management. Before I could even get a word in, she began screaming at my partner and I saying "I don't have time for this" and "if you don't like our policies, you can go down the road for all I care". All I wanted to do was to see if there was some way I could purchase since I had driven all the way there and the liquor was already packaged to go. She is a horrible woman and before I could even respond, she WALKED AWAY. What kind of manager walks away in the middle of a conversation?! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. It was my partner's first time at the store and he was absolutely disgusted with her behavior. Horrible management. I hope they get shut down. No one deserves to be treated so poorly for making a simple inquiry. read more
