I cannot begin to express my gratitude to everyone at Northpoint Recovery. Everyone, and I mean everyone was excellent. The doctors, nurses, techs, counselors, housekeepers, and even the catering staff (the food is good too) are all so caring and compassionate. I never felt like I was a bad person because of my addiction. I was never looked down upon for my mistakes during my addiction. I only received positive energy and excellent education and counseling. The curriculum and structure is rigid, but not oppressive. There is a wide variety of settings for the best learning and group processing. Because the facility is small, it is easy to get to know everyone and you really connect quickly to your fellow peers. This is really important, and I felt really comfortable sharing and being vulnerable in group settings with my peers and I never felt judged. This was my first (and last, God willing) rehab treatment, and while I have nothing to compare it to, I cannot imagine a better program in Idaho, and probably the Pacific NW and beyond. Today, I feel fantastic. I feel well prepared and equipped with the tools necessary to take my recovery to the next step, go to NA/AA meetings, find a sponsor and sober support systems, and attend Outpatient counseling to ensure lifelong sobriety. Thank you, Northpoint, from the bottom of my heart. I truly believe you saved my life! My only criticism, is that I feel there needs to be more involvement of the families (or primary support people) so that they are better prepared and know what to expect when their loved one comes home. I think there needs to be some individual counseling and more addiction education at least offered to the primary supports so they can prepare the home environment and themselves for the return of their sober loved one after 28 days. It was kind of a chaotic transition from rehab to home for me, and particularly for my partner, which caused a lot of stress the first several days of my coming home. This could have easily been a trigger for me to use, and I'm grateful I didn't, but the thought entered my mind, so just an idea so the rehab to home transition is smoother. read more

When I took my first tenuous steps onto the path of recovery, setting foot on the grounds of NorthPoint Recovery, I was fearful, confused, and thoroughly exhausted with the life I'd been living. But I surrendered when I walked through those doors. I knew I needed to make some major life changes, but I never dreamed it would become as life changing as it has. My program of recovery began there at NorthPoint, learning acceptance, finding a place of peace within myself, and embracing a radiant new spiritual path of compassion and gratitude. My process of recovery took a lot of perseverance and hard work, not to mention trial and error. It's now become my life's work - the work of a lifetime - and it's led me to carry the message of hope to others pursuing this transformative journey. Now, in a role as the house manager of an amazing, newly opened sober living house (one of the best in the valley, I might add) I'm a leader in working recovery, helping other men pursue a healthier, more honest way of living. I've seen relationships restored, family trust rebuilt, and brotherhoods formed. There's something powerful in the life I'm realizing now as I work together with others to build stronger recovery community and stronger lives in recovery. I am eternally grateful to all of the amazing staff and friends I made there at NorthPoint. If you or somebody you know has a drug or alcohol addiction, this facility is hands down where you want to go in order to live a clean and happy life. The facility itself is brand new, clean, offers yoga, gym 3 days a week, and also has TVs, which is rare for inpatient treatment centers. It addresses the underlying issues to addiction, provides education regarding addiction, assists with the transition back into society, and provides guidance for continuing care after the 28 day program. The staff is amazing. Knowledgeable, respectful, kind, and even funny and playful (when appropriate). If you are anything like me I thought rehab was a joke. I thought I could stop whenever I wanted, but that I just didn't want to, or to get heat off my back to get my way. In my case my parents. Never would I of imagined enjoying my experience there, Never would I of thought I'd ever be able to be happy without the use of drugs/alcohol. And I sure as hell never imagined endorsing a treatment facility upon completment! But if you are anything like myself, you will enter the program feeling hopeless, worthless, guilty/shameful, inadequate, low self esteem, or even suicidal. I would challenge anyone to come try the program and give it a shot. Come in being open, willing, and honest, and the miracle will happen! I promise you! my only regret in my life is that i did not find this facility a long time ago of course theyve only been open a short while. npr has been a life changing experience for me. from the first phone call with james to my last day there. i didnt want to leave. upon arrival i was greated with a smile and treated very special but not singled out made to feel different i actually felt better about myself, it was like i was bein thanked by people i didnt even know for taking the first step in changing my life for ever. i recieved 24/7 care by a qualified nursing staff and councelors as well as the techs. to me it was more of a break from the bad part of the world where i was free to take care of me and learn about my addiction and why i had let it get a grip on me. this education was worth more than any college degree i could have ever recieved i only wish i knew about it years ago and had the desire to seek help then. i will never be able to thank these great people enough for the sincere help. love, and sense of hope they ve given me, the self respect ive gained back, the trust and love from my wife and family. npr know that you are all in my prayers, that you can touch someone elses life like youve touched mine, also my hat is off to a very special man at mecca gym, ill never forget you jason and the impact you made in my life words are not enough brett harris read more

I was at Northpoint in June-July of 2015. Even though they were very new and had a few bugs to work through, the staff was amazing. Many of them were recovering addicts themselves. Big shout out to Mike our driver/pysch tech. You were treated with dignity and respect and they made a great effort to have a diverse program, with Yoga, mindfulness and other alternative treatments. The one weakness was the programming for the women. The counselor was very young and although she was nice she didn't offer much in the way of real assistance for the problems we would be facing when we left. Overall I felt it was a real haven during a troubled time for me. I'm now 9 months sober and it is due in part to the treatment I received at Northpoint. Also, very important to me as an atheist, I was allowed to have my own non-belief in god even though AA was a central focus of the program. It was never demanded that we "believe" in a higher power in order to get and stay sober. The other residents were great and the program was small so we really got to know each other. The rooms were clean and comfortable with one roommate. I've never been in treatment before, but I heard a lot of stories from other residents and this seems like one of the best centers in Idaho. read more

NorthPoint Recovery is the place to be for detox and rehab in Boise! From your first phone call with the admissions department you are welcomed with open arms, even if NorthPoint isn't the best fit for you or your loved one's situation, they work tirelessly to provide you with options that are. The beautiful and renovated facility is always extremely clean and provides a homey environment for those recovering. Their catered meals are full of nutrition but do not lack in taste or quantity for the recovering body. NorthPoint's treatment method is phenomenal and has proven effective in sobriety after discharge. The staff is by far the best thing about NorthPoint. Each of the nurses, techs, administrators, and counselors have direct or indirect experience with drug/alcohol addiction which gives them keen insight into what the patients and their families are going through and what they will face in their days after discharge. NorthPoint Recovery should win an award for best rehab center on Earth. The staff are incredible and genuinly care about their patients every day. They share their own stories of recovery and inspire us all to want what they have; sobriety. The days are perfectly structured with "classes" on our diseases, "processing" things we're battling, exercise, yoga, tai chi, 3 square meals cooked to perfection and amenities that are appropriate to our recovery. Their program is mindblowingly awesome and really works! I've seen many of my peers "graduate" from this facility and they can honestly say they are still sober. I went to NorthPoint april/may 2016. I have never met a more dedicated, compassionate and caring staff. The education was enlightening, the counselors were amazing..the nurses..awesome...the chaperones...I couldn't have gotten through it with out them. I have recommended Northpoint to others that have been struggling and they have had a great experience there as well. I was able talk to my family daily on the and see them on Sundays...even my children, which other rehab centers don't allow. I didn't know what to expect when I came into treatment, my whole life I haven't even really heard a whole lot about treatment facilities. I honestly thought it was going to be a mad house but Northpoint has completely changed my view on treatment centers. The staff is kind and they actually care, they want you to achieve this goal of recovery. This was was extremely important to me, especially since it was my first time in treatment. NorthPoint was amazing. They gave the keys to successful treatment plan. I now have multiple years living in recovery and didn't do this alone. From the get go the the staff reached out to me multiple times a day when needed to hold me in my window of willingness. Through the help of NorthPoint I was ready boarded a plane and was terrified. North point was great for me I was scared when I first went in i didn't know what to expect but I left feeling very at easy not as much as I was in control of my addiction but to the point where I now that I have a chance if I use all the tools at my disposal. Will have bad days but north pint makes u very aware of coping skills that I can use and always use a sponsor and aa meetings food was great to me I gained 16lbs. I spent years trying to get sober on my own. Nothing seemed to work. Every time something bad happened I would relapse. I had to get help. I have done several different levels of treatment through various providers across the Treasure Valley and this was by far the greatest care I have received. I cannot describe how incredible NorthPoint Recovery is. . The staff are amazingly supportive, share their stories about how they began their journey of recovery and just all around incredible. North Point recovery showed compassion, caring, understanding and outstanding nurse to patient ratio. I received excellent medical treatment and the patient detox program worked for me. I will always hold dear the 28 days I spent at NorthPoint. My alcohol addiction had taken over my life. The staff was friendly and extremely efficient.
