Having been a frequent visitor to Park Falls for my entire life, I think it's safe to say I've probably stayed in every room. With that information - the rooms have absolutely NOT changed since the 1980's. When this place first opened, it was a big deal. Not only an indoor pool - but a WHIRLPOOL! So yes, it was quite the place. The staff is very friendly and nice. I've never had an issue with noise or problematic neighbors. The only issue you might run into (during the winter months) is hearing the snowmobiles - and in the summer months - the 4 wheelers. That's their clientele, and it suits them just fine, thank you. If, for whatever reason, you find yourself stuck without a car, you are in walking distance to Super One and IGA. Subway and McDonald's are across the street. Overall I can't complain about the NML - I've had better, and I've had worse - but this one is still ok in my book. read more

Being a Park Falls native, the Motor Lodge was always the fanciest place in town because it had a gym and a pool. And it was connected to the bowling alley (the Lanes)! Well, these things are all still true minus the fanciest part. (I'm honestly not sure which hotel would deserve that title...) Having spent the weekend at the Motor Lodge over Flambeau Rama, I was perfectly satisfied. Is the room high class? No. Are the towels super fluffy like unicorn hair? No. Are there flat screen tvs? Nope. But you know what? The Motor Lodge did a fine job. The rooms were clean and reasonably comfy. Amazingly, I barely heard fellow travelers in other rooms. The location is excellent and easy to find. The prices, while higher during Flambeau Rama I'd imagine, were competitive and affordable. Next time I swing through town, I'll stay here again. Oh, and being connected to the Lanes is STILL cool. Don't argue with me on that point! read more

This is the best place in town, it could use an update to the the 21st century but it's 1000% better than every other place in town, everything works, the people are very friendly, and as a bonus there's a pool and whirlpool, the beds are very firm and some people might not like that, I've read the other reviews and this place may be old but you get a lot for your money and I don't believe it's fair to to rate it that low just because it's outdated, especially since it's better than the higher rated places in town that things didn't work in the rooms (toilet & other). read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! If I could leave NO stars I would! They over charged us $115.50! When I called them about it the girl said she would have someone call me the next day. Nobody ever called. I called back and Ginger was rude and told me that they didn't overcharge us. I explained that my bank statement shows different. She told me that Jim, the owner would call me as soon as he came in. He never called. I called back and spoke to Rich, who was VERY rude! He told me to take them to court and that they won't refund our money. Needless to say, we are heading to court, my bank isn't going to lie, unlike them. STAY AWAY! Never have I been talked to so rude by someone at a place of business! And Rich is supposed to be the manager! What a joke! read more

Can't recommend the Northhway Motor Lodge. It seems like nothing has been changed since the... 80s? Maybe earlier? Oh, except the newer flat screen TV. I know that because the holes where a larger TV base was screwed into the dresser are still there. Gouges in the walls from the chairs, which all wobble when you sit in them, polyester quilted floral print bedspreads, curtains don't quite close completely (and I was on the first floor), mattress was a series of lumps and springs, chipped beat up furniture. Oh, and an actual key to open the room, the kind with the plastic diamond key ring. I don't like to complain about free breakfast (they're free!) but this was pretty pathetic, but necessary for the coffee, because no coffee make in the room. Pluses--staff was nice. This place is also a fitness center, so it has a real pool, not the usual hotel wading pool. A lot of fitness equipmment in a strange room, kind of a warehouse/former garage/storage area. But hey, it's cheap! read more
