So you'll know where I am going with this review. A neighbour wanted to go here and check out the church. Great! Friendly, kind people. But when the music started, it was too loud. Over 80 dB. I turned my aids off and turned them into ear plugs and went to the foyer. 70 dB was better than 80 dB. I needed to protect my hearing. I sat in the foyer till the end of the service, until my friend returned. We were inured. The people were super, but the sound level was too uncomfortable. We found it odd that the did not have any flyers or bulletins. Sadly, we will not return. Reposted.

That said, my personal experience as a newcomer was disappointing--and concerning. After a service, during a time of fellowship at a restaurant, a wisecrack was made by a man I had never met and who had no idea who I was. It was directed at me for speaking with a married woman who knew I was new and was simply being friendly and welcoming. I found it offensive and inappropriate--especially as a first-time visitor trying to connect. When I brought the wisecrack to leadership's attention, I felt dismissed and that the situation was minimized. That response, in itself, was offensive. Still, I chose to move forward, believing things would improve. Instead, I began to notice a shift. My interactions changed--there was distance, less responsiveness, and I felt as though I was purposely being avoided. I brought that to leadership's attention as well. When I raised this again to leadership via email, there was no response. In essence, my concerns were avoided rather than addressed. I never went back after that. These things cannot go unnoticed. We are called to let our light shine, especially in moments like this--and that didn't happen here. First impressions matter. For someone new, they often determine whether a person feels welcomed or quietly pushed away. For context, I'm a small business owner and naturally approach people with openness, respect, and professionalism. I came in with a genuine desire to connect and be part of the community. In fact, when I first visited, I heard about an upcoming marriage conference and offered to sponsor a couple in need so they could attend, even though I'm single. I was looking for ways to contribute and support others from the start. Unfortunately, I eventually felt misjudged rather than welcomed, and I made the decision to step away. My two-star rating reflects that experience. I do encourage others to visit and form their own opinion--I sincerely hope mine is not the norm. But I also hope this is taken seriously, because how new people are treated matters more than most realize.

Great, moving and meaningful homilies focused on mercy, forgiveness and social justice. However, there is a new, fairly inexperienced parish administrator who is leading the parish. And is easily offended if he questioned or if someone offers a different opinion. He has actually told the congregation during Mass that (paraphased) if you don't like me go somewhere else because I'm here to stay. Moreover, he said that if he wasn't leading our parish, no one else would take his place. (I hardly thing this is true.) He says that, without him, the parish would close! Seriously??? It shows me that he is inexperienced in navigating parish leadership and perhaps this is understandable bc he has only been out of the seminary less than 5 years. It's a huge job for a newbie to parish leadership. Not an easy job. This past Sunday he invited a priest from another state to officiate the mass. Visiting priest Fr. John led a pre Vatican II liturgy-styled mass that was not in keeping with the style of liturgy many of us have valued and sought in our worship practice. Fr. Richard Rivera is trying to take us back to pre-vatican practices. Many of us are not going back to the dark ages. I hope the new Bishop of Tucson can step in and find an experienced pastor to lead our church and keep the passion alive.

I wanted to disclose that before your brain started thinking this is a planted review and you disregard everything I write. I'll rewind the clock and write a portion of this review in light of the reasons we've been here for over 2 years. The first time we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and a sincere "welcome". I had actually visited the church on a Saturday morning when the men were meeting to discuss courageous living as husbands and fathers who follow of Jesus Christ. The morning was very relational and not over programmed and rigid, a quality we hold high as a standard in our ministry to men. My bride and I visited the church not too long before Christmas, I remember because we were being invited to return for the pot luck and talent show the next week. I am typically unsociable until I am comfortable, and it takes me a few weeks to warm up to people...but we decided to invest ourselves and see what would happen. I remember wanting to sit close to the door so we could leave and not be seen. My plan did not work out so well and we sat toward the front in the middle. I remember feeling settled and peaceful while I was surrounded by over 100 strangers. Many faces have come and gone in the 2.5 years we've been there. Some return to visit and others we still keep in touch with through social media or by bumping into them in the community. There have been some changes to the building since we arrived; new carpet, change in the decor (table cloths, food pantry, seating arraignment), and minor changes in the staff and leadership. What has not changed is the commitment to serve one another and our neighbors. We typically teach through entire books of the bible, verse by verse. We are involved in and/or supporting man ministries that provide outreach to the homeless and poor of our city. We hold to the biblical principle that we are to train up leaders and send them out to share Jesus and train up leaders. I am involved with the teaching/preaching team at CrossRoads Church and currently serve as an elder in the leadership of the church. Stop by on a Sunday morning if you're in the area. Services are at 9:00 AM and 10:15 AM.

This Church Family is awesome! Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Pastor Kyle and his wife Jessica are lovely people following Christ. It's a smaller congregation, so a bit more intimate which is really nice.The presence of the Holy Spirit is so strong in this place. It has really great praise and Worship music. Also they do amazing bible teaching. This church is very inclusive no matter what ethnicity, sex, or age. All are welcome. They have two services , one at 9am and one at 10:30 I believe.

I enjoy every service I get to attend. The pastor and his wife are welcoming and happy to have visitors. Pastor Crews teaches the bible and is not afraid to speak the truth. His way of preaching/teaching always sends me away with something learned. I look forward to going to church when I'm able. There are Sunday morning and evening services. A bible study on Wednesday evenings. Nursery and Sunday School for the kids. At this church, you will find the Pastor is concerned for you and your soul. You are not a number. You are a person who matters. My favorite part about going to church is the pastor doesn't talk down to you. He is very personable and you realize how much he cares when you hear him preach.
