Please read these reviews carefully before bringing your camera here for repair. You'll notice a surprising number of people who've had similar experiences: they bring their cameras in, weeks and months go by without any progress or communication, and in the end, their cameras are picked up without ever having been repaired. It's an infuriating experience. You should carefully consider if you want the same experience, because it will happen again, possibly to you, as it has to me. Although, my experience has been even worse. I dropped my camera off near the end of 2023. It worked fine, but the touch-sensitive articulating screen no longer responded to touch. Months went by without progress. Phone calls and emails went unanswered. Finally, by the end of the winter (2024), I was told that my camera had been misplaced but it was found and going to be repaired. Two weeks later I picked it up, and paid in full for the repair. A few days later I went to use the camera and discovered that not only was the articulating screen not repaired, the image on the screen was inverted, making the camera entirely unusable. I called and was told to drop it off at the drop off location in New Hope, which I did near the end of April, 2024. Near the end of June 2024, I started calling for a progress update. Even though I called during business hours and left my phone number, my calls were never answered or returned. That brings us to the middle of September, 2024. I still do not have my camera. Remember, I paid in full for the repair. I'm at a loss. My only choice is to drive all the way to Lindstrom, just to find out what has happened to my camera. It's been nearly a year... They have my money AND my camera and will not call me back. Do you really want to take the chance that this won't happen to you? Read the reviews that are like mine and you'll see my experience is not unusual. My next step is to report the camera as stolen and see if the Lindstrom Police can't get an answer for me. don't bring your camera here, dropped it off in July 2024, called 4-5 times over the next few months. "It'll be ready in a couple days etc etc". Just blatant lies. Finally went to pick it up because it had been like 7 months and it wasn't repaired. northwest is amazing! i had an issue with my sinar p 8x10 and was so concerned i would not be able to get it fixed, there was no one in my area (California) that could fix it. I found northwest online and called and spoke with Gus. Gus was wonderful, he spent a lot of time on the phone with me, i ended up shipping him my camera back the next day, in no time i had my camera returned, perfect as could be in super fast time. highly recommend this store! cant say enough good things. knowledgable, friendly and awesome! read more

I was impressed with the skill and pricing in repairing on older Sony camera. The repair gave it new life.

I wanted a sensor cleaning and shipped my camera to NW Camera but the option to leave it at a drop-off point was a great option which I initially planned on doing. It's great to have the resource available in the area/region where I live and I believe NW Camera provides a wonderful resource for those with photo and video equipment. I have all intention of using NW Camera again in the future as needed. read more

Northwest was able to fix my Minolta X700 from the mid 1980's. Pricing was reasonable.

The store was recommended by someone who said that they had good service. Dropped off DSLR camera to have looked at. Week 1 no contact or update regarding status of the camera and what the problem was. Week 2 call store to see if looked at camera to diagnose the issue, had not looked at camera, spoke with Gus, who said get right on it. Week 3 stop in store to see about update of any kind. Was told it was next in line to be looked at in next couple of days. Took the camera back at that time and said enough. 3 weeks wasted and still have a camera not working. I could see if there had been some kind of progress, but to never even look at the camera in those 3 weeks. Better off going else where. read more

In November 2017 I sent my Sony DSC-WX350 digital camera to NW Camera to have the selector knob repaired. After not hearing anything for several weeks I called and the guy first said he couldn't find the camera and when he did he said he was having trouble finding the parts to repair it. He said he'd call me back in a few days. He didn't. So a month or two later I called again and he again had some excuse why it wasn't fixed yet. He said he'd call be back in a couple of days but he did not. It is now July of 2018 and I still do not have my camera back nor any indication that I ever will. The last time I called about three weeks ago he said he'd call me back that same week, but I'm still waiting. The moral of the story is that if you want your camera repaired do not send it to Northwest Camera in Lindstrom, MN. I'm out a camera and about nine months of camera usage time. Jim W read more

I was really frustrated by their services. My Rollei SL66 was broken and I heard from West Photo that Northwest Camera might be able to repair it, so I drove up there and dropped off my camera in mid March. The owner told me he knew a guy who could repair Rollei, but was having a hand surgery so probably gonna take 8 weeks for that guy to recover. He's gonna get back to me about if the guy could fix my camera and how much it would be in the next two weeks. So I waited for two weeks, heard nothing, called the owner and was told he was too busy and hadn't checked with the Rollei guy yet. He said he's gonna call me back by the end of the week, but again I waited and heard nothing. Such pattern happened for 4 or 5 times. The owner kept telling me he was too busy that week, gonna check my camera soon and see what he could do, and would call me back by the end of the week. I never got a quote, never got a call-back, never knew if they were able to fix my camera or not for two months. I eventually drove up there again and the owner told me he couldn't fix my camera. I would be okay if he had told me one month ago that neither his Rollei guy nor him knew how to fix a SL66 and I should look somewhere else. I wouldn't even be so frustrated if they ever kept me updated and just called and let me know as they promised. I waited and wasted two months for nothing. To be fair, when I just got there for the first time, I was also bringing two Pentax cameras and he helped me fix a minor problem, clean the body maybe, and got one of them checked out to be functioning. If that were my only experience with them then I would be happy to recommend this place to others. However, with my Rollei stuck there for two months with no update and nothing solved, I recommend shipping your film camera to some other states for repair and it might still be faster and at least you get your camera fixed. read more

Dropped off camera for repair. Told it would take 3 weeks or repair. Camera was not looked at in 4 weeks. Told the camera would be looked at the next day. This was not done. He had trouble finding the camera. Don't know when he would look at camera then would need to order parts. Not going back. If you drop off a camera don't depend on his time estimate. Buy a camera for the waiting time. read more
