Rediculious, Rude, Snooty, Condesending Old ladies, who work there. Sick of going in there. LOVE the items, HATE the staff -_-. Everytime i get to Front to check out there is some issue. They always "price check" things even tho they are clearly "Tagged". Insinuating i change labels? Which i find highly Offensive especially since i was buying a 160$ piece of Furniture. Pshh. Really? They think they can get more for items once ur interested and at front and try to "price check and say oh sticker looks weird spot" and give higher prices... Went in another time few days ago. SIGN CLEARLY STATES "SALE" ... "PURPLE 75%" OFF. .. It says Purple Right? Meaning any tag in store that is PURPLE. .. NOo apparently it doesnt. They dont have a Digital reader So you Cant keep track of what they are ringing up, and when they ring sale items up they arent communicating "like Every other store ive ever been at" if its a sale item they say aloud how much item was and what it goes down to before they ring it up. I had a whole cart full of things so she just wrang everything up i had no clue what she charged me... i get home to see 4 items overcharged 5.99$ when they clearly had PURPLE TAGs -_-. I was interested at 1.50$ ..nothing F ' in 6$ each for a pair of socks and small boot warmer thats worth about 1$ .. anyways. I wasnt told sale applied to certian tags, wasnt told any prices she charged me, i asked hey is sale tags coming off oh yeah!... Nothing was stated on thier Dumb sign that said "new items wernt included" so pulling some shit last minute at register is pretty Low i must say. They operate under misleading assumptions and overcharge people . So when i get home i see my reciept is over charged. I go back to get store credit... they sale oh "SALE PRICE ONLY APPLY TO USED TAGS" .. SAYS WHEREEE???? Nothing was specified on the Sign it said Purple. Period. And i should of been Refunded. Due to thier lack of clarity and confusion. Customer is always right..... they said oh thats "New" its from a Vendor. I said and?? Yeah i saw they were different tags but what about it? Its purple... The sign says Purple tags, doesnt say "not new" "doesnt apply to new items" ... so i said. I was under impression they were on sale i Did Not want to Pay that much for this crap.. they just basically said "oh sorry" we cant do ne thing. Its a vendor we cant return.. so i said same thing, How am i suppose to KNOW that?? Its not stated anywhere on any Signs,...u didnt tell me what u charged me i looked at reciept at home and noticed it was wrong so i came back to get it credited back. Your F in kidding me right? Your lieing, your being misleading, your being shady, not telling me what ur ringing up. Dishonest and disgusting.. They should of made it right. I have been a long time shopper at The Christian Thrift Store. Their prices were always fair, being you can't try on and you can't return. Recently New management came in and prices are several dollars more, and the selection has gone way down. I never thought I would say this but Goodwill actually has better prices and selection. Plus they have dressing rooms, exchange policy and if you're about to mess your pants they have bathrooms to use. read more

Northwest Christian Thrift Store - No public restrooms No fitting rooms No returns No exchanges - Thrift Stores Near Me - Spokane, Washington

It's a mystery how this went from being the best thrift store in Spokane to being the absolute worst. Their "policy" changes are driving customers away in droves. When you donate you are now required to tell the staff member exactly what you are donating. In my case, it was the hottest day of the summer and I had to stand there trying to remember what was in the boxes. When I asked the lady why she needed to know she got extremely rude, insinuating that I was donating junk. I wasn't. She pawed through the boxes, accepted the donations, and didn't even bother to thank me. And don't even get me started on the new prices. It's almost a joke. I was shopping for holiday decorations and many items that are currently on the shelves at Dollar Tree were priced as much as four times as much as Dollar Tree has them. Check it out for yourself. And all this on top of the fact that they have no dressing rooms, no public restrooms, an unbelievably restrictive return policy, and bare shelves. read more

We've been shopping at this store for over 30 years and ever since Covid their policies have gotten ridiculous. First, they take away the bathrooms and the changing rooms. Now, after shopping there recently, we were approached by an employee and told that our regular, every day purses were too big and we wouldn't be able to shop there. We left and will not be returning. There are more affordable thrift stores near by that allow you to use the bathrooms, try on clothing before you buy and not switch to mini purses! Store has some major issues they need to figure out for their customers, but apparently we aren't important enough for basic accommodations. Wish I could give negative stars for how they made me feel at our last visit. This is sad for me to write because over the years we've had fun shopping here, but their policies are unacceptable and ridiculous and now and I'm done with it! read more

Today we experienced discrimination at this store. I was there to buy a walker for my disabled parents. While paying, I asked if they could receive the senior discount. The cashier, a Black woman, asked me who was paying. I explained that I would be paying on their behalf since they do not know how to handle payments. She then called her supervisor, who repeated the same demand. I asked if I were to go back home, return with cash, and have my parents physically hand the money to the cashier, would that be acceptable? Shockingly, she said yes. What kind of rule is this? Instead of showing compassion to seniors and the disabled, they insisted on an unreasonable process that humiliated my parents. If this is how the senior discount program is enforced, it would be better to eliminate it altogether. I strongly urge you to investigate this matter and provide your staff with proper training on how to treat disabled and immigrant families with dignity. No one should have to go through what my parents and I went through Today, I will be praying to God that let thei discriminating heart will be changed with love and kindness to the customer specially when disabled people need help. read more

Been shopping here for years. With a full cart, I went to cashier for restroom key as I have in several previous visits. Was told it's locked. Left my cart. Will never go back. People need restrooms when they're shopping. Hope a clean bathroom is worth the $100's of dollars a year I spend there. read more

I am going through a very emotional time in my personal life and wanted to get out of my house and do one of my favorite things, thrifting. So I hadn't been to NWC since Covid and decided to go there. I take my time because you must flip through racks of clothing to find the good stuff. I also do a lot of crafting, so I see things that I can repurpose. There stores a fairly large warehouse size and it was nowhere near closing time, so I had no worries. After some time I was finally on my last couple of aisles when I was approached by an employee and she said "I'm going to have to ask that you take your purchases up front and leave the store, because you've been here almost 2 hrs." I said "what, why?' I was so shocked and confused. She repeated herself and said that it was a private business and they could kick me out if they wanted to and if I didn't leave right now that she would have me trespassed from there. I had a cart full of things I was going to purchase and I kept my head down and didn't even talk to anyone else in the store, the whole time I was there. I started to cry because of my already fragile emotional state. It was extremely embarrassing and I have never been treated like this in my entire life. During Covid, they took away the dressing rooms. Here we are three years later, and they still do not have dressing rooms available, nor do they allow for returns or exchanges! This is such poor poor customer service. You've got to allow for some flexibility. Absolutely ridiculous! read more

If I could give no stars I would a couple of weeks ago I had surgery on my foot when I got out of the hospital I needed a wheel chair and called this business and they had one left it was a very good price but they would not bring it out to me so I could pay them they wanted me to crawl on my hands and knees to get it and I even double checked and asked you want me to crawl in to pay for the chair but to my luck a gentleman walking by over herd my conversation and said he would get it for me I will never go back to Northwest christen School thrift store in 5 mike ever again read more

Lately I have constantly had worse and worse experiences here with the same female employee. She's tall with short brown hair. The last visit did it for me. I bought a few clothing items and a lamp. I asked about the return policy and she said 7 days with a receipt. I even wrote that on my receipt once I got to the car because it's shorter than other thrift stores. This is probably the best thrift store in Spokane. They have a fabulous area of antiques, Vintage, new and used furniture and display items. All monies go to Nw Christian Schools. Which I love. I had to wonder if I should leave this review it's my hidden gem. read more
