The portal notes are empty and they won't answer messages there. Calling only gets you their "network team" who won't transfer you directly to the dr's office front desk. I tried THREE TIMES! I only wanted to discuss my previous care and get pricing for shockwave therapy (something we discussed). They said I had to schedule an appt. I shouldn't have to spend time, gas, and a co-pay to get simple questions answered. Finding care elsewhere now.

I called on Lake Washington Foot and Ankle on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and was told each day they couldn't find the referral but would call me back later that day. (They did not call back). Finally, on Thursday I did got a call from their office that they had found the referral but were NOT taking any new patients. It sure would have been nice if I had been told when I called that first day on Monday that they had told me that they were NOT taken new patients as that would have caused me a lot less pain and suffering because of the now delayed treatment!

I have permanent, complex structural deformities of the foot and ankle, caused by neurological disorders and previous trauma. I went to Everett Bone & Joint where I saw the Foot & Ankle Surgeon declined working on my foot, citing it was too complicated and did not think the outcome would be favorable. He wished me well and that was the end. My family suggested going to the UW and that was how I was introduced to Dr Prakash . He admitted me and created a treatment plan that had some of the most time-intensive and technically challenging work ahead. My foot was infected to the bone and was on IV treatment at the hospital. I hit the lottery with Dr Prakash who had assessed me and set a surgery/treatment in motion. Many of my CMT or Charcot Marie Tooth (what a name!) deformities are a result from a combination of muscular, anatomical and neurological dysfunction and just wreak havoc on your neuro-muscular foot structure . I had surgery November 2023 and as of today (March 2034) and I have finally healed with a "normal looking foot" something I had not experienced looking foot in over 5 years. Without touching it and barely, I mean barely looking at it and no xray, he diagnosed me with a torn Achilles unwanted me to stay off my foot for an undetermined amount of time. When I returned for my 2nd visit without much change, he raised his voice and called me the worst patient he's ever had. WHAT? Never went back. After seeing another specialist, I was diagnosed with tendinitis of the achilles after an xray. Some PT and a little time and I'm good. Wouldn't send my worst enemy to this jerk.

I have a stiff big toe, hallux limitus, if you will. Which just means stiff toe. It's been developing for the last 14 years now, and had been developing for 8 years at the time of my appointment with this doctor. He barely looked at my foot. He didn't lay a finger on it. He didn't request an x-ray. What he did tell me, and I quote, was this, "Mrs. Benson, your problem is that you don't want to get old." Really, doctor who claims to love mountaineering on his website? That's my problem? I was 32 years old, fit, a newly wed and I couldn't even walk a few miles -much less mountaineer - because I was in so much pain. He told me there was nothing I could do beyond fusing the joint and that only an orthotic would help (it didn't). I left his office crying, he was such a jerk. 6 more years and my hip, pelvic floor, and knee completely out of whack because of my condition, I steeled myself to the mission of finding a foot doctor who would at the very least x-ray my foot and give me an opinion that was something more than "You are getting old". My new doctor, the first one I saw, ordered x-rays immediately, took one look, and said I should've had surgery years ago. I am one week out from having the spur on my joint removed, and my toe already has more mobility than it has in YEARS. I am so excited to be able to walk more than a mile again after I heal more. I just can't believe I took this Dr. Grant's word for that long and did nothing but damage the cartilage a little further. Don't make the same mistake I did! See someone else who is truly into preserving the body after an injury so that you can be active for years to come. I would strongly recommend my podiatrist in favor of Dr. Grant, but I've relocated to the Bay Area so she's down here! Good luck in your search for someone who cares and isn't an agist, sexist jerk.
