Health insurance change forced me to change doctors and I was assigned here to Jennifer Samson. I was happy to see a naturopath but she immediately seemed uncomfortable with me. I just needed my prescriptions that I've continually been prescribed for 20 years refilled and she told me she would. I never received an update from the pharmacy so I called the clinic. Then, after two return phone calls, I was told that Jennifer had a problem with my BMI (a racist/sexist/proven to be unscientific scale) and she wouldn't refill them without my jumping through hoops. From my first call to the clinic I informed them of the extreme physical withdrawal that occurs without medication(generic celexa). The mental withdrawal is even worse. I have so much more to say about avoiding this place. I cannot though, as I am going through withdrawal from meditation vital to my health all because of going here for help. read more

When we moved from Colorado, we had a lot of concerns about finding a good doctor. If I'm honest, we were expecting a lot of crunchy granola talk going to a naturopath. But Dr Megan sat with me for almost an hour. She asked me about everything I was doing, my sleep, my diet, where I hurt. Before I left, she pointed out a handful of things I could do to help with my gut issues, and she recommended some over the counter things I could take. One was a dropper which I don't take anymore. But she also got me started on galutathine which I still take everyday. We talked about prescriptions. She seemed fine with writing me one but recommended I start with supplements because supplements are cheaper and have less side effects. I'm highly satisfied. read more

I first met with Dr. McLendon in February of this year. Before 2022, my experience with healthcare left me feeling unheard and so I spent years unaware of what was actually happening in my body. There have been a multitude of times a PCP has put me down and ignored clear signs of illnesses I didn't know I had while Dr. McLendon has masterfully picked them out. NWIM was actually recommended to me and at first I was skeptical. I thought I would be treated the same as my previous PCP but it's been quite the opposite. I arrive and am told I have to reschedule since my paperwork has not been filled out. Called multiple time attempting to get said paperwork sent to me. I have been a patient of this clinic for over a year now, and they are absolutely incredible! I must say that a one star review that Sim left made me really angry. I really like Gina, the receptionist. She has a super sweet and soft voice and has always been so delightful to talk to. I have a sensory integration disorder and can't process it when someone talks fast and I feel very comfortable communicating with Gina. It angers me that someone can leave 52 negative reviews on Yelp and hurt so many businesses without being stopped. Sim even left a one star review to Beaverton Goodwill for not having black hoodies. Hah??? As to my experience with Northwest Integrative medicine - they have been nothing but helpful and supportive of me and my family. I am very sensitive to energy, and can't stand traditional doctors for many reasons. I had horrible experiences with traditional doctors, from misdiagnosing me and prescribing medications that I didn't need at all to acting as if they know my body better than I do. When I met dr Meghan, I was amazed by both, her approach and personality. I am so grateful to find a reliable and trustworthy doctor that treats the whole being! She is humble, warm, friendly and approachable. My experience is that dr. Meghan knows about the body way more than the "best" medical professors that I visited in past, who could not properly diagnose my concerns. The results of her work with me are very tangible and evident to me. I feel that I made a huge progress with my issue since I have been treated by Dr Meghan. Surfed 'the net for a holistic doctor to do a phone consultation for 10-15. This place seemed to fit the bill. I call and just blah blah blah blah blah - oh wait - you're a person? The receptionist, who I later learned was "Gina" spoke so incredibly fast I could not understand anything she said. I felt like a telemarketer was on the other end. Gina spoke in acronyms and scripts and clinic jargon as opposed to layman's terms. I quickly got off the phone, because I could not get past the script and very 'corporate' aura of this place. I have been coming here since shortly after they opened, and Dr. Meghan is my PCP. What a world of difference it is to be seen and heard and treated from a whole person perspective. Not rushed through visits yet charged twice as much with only suggestions of what prescription drugs one might take. When I consistently follow Dr. Meghan's care plan, I experience better sleep, increased energy, elevated moods, and just balance that I had been lacking for years and that I feel lacking when I do not follow her recommendations. And when I slack off and come in and let her know, I'm never judged. I continue to receive her care and support and in one visit, she had a better overview of me than my previous PCP did in years of seeing her. I also appreciate how she explains the scientific side of things, including drawing diagrams when i'm kind of like "huh?" I recently saw another Dr. in the practice, Dr. Oni, for a small procedure. She is warm and also takes the time to explain every step and to made sure I was comfortable and I especially appreciated very detailed after care instructions, instead of a print out that just says go to urgent care if you have problems. They often have informative Facebook lives on topics that impact many people daily and they are always done in a way that is engaging and I always take something beneficial away when I watch. I love that I can swing by to restock my supplements or use their online platform and have them delivered- and they have an office dog so already just that alone = winning. I'm thankful that a friend introduced me to this practice and that I know I have a partner in my healthcare. I finally have a healthcare/medical HOME. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Maeghan! My husband had a heart attack this year - unfortunately there is a family history of high cholesterol and heart attacks. We went to see Dr. Maeghan in April and she ran a Cardio IQ blood test and all his numbers were in the red and off the charts! Our goal was to avoid using statins as much as possible. Dr. Maeghan explained to us how different foods affected the body and how to change his diet. She recommended several supplements as well. We changed our eating habits (he did have to go on a low dose of statins) and he took his supplements religiously. Three months later my husband went in after another blood test and his cholesterol had gone from 291 down to 169! His cholesterol level has never been below 185. Most of his other numbers had dropped down to an optimum level as well. The ones that didn't - she was able to tell us what to do to improve them. Dr. Maeghan is knowledgeable, friendly, very accessible (I left messages in the patient portal and received quick responses) and encouraging. Our insurance doesn't cover Naturopaths but it was so worth the extra cost. Best decision we ever made. Thank you Dr. Maeghan! read more

Dr. Maeghan and her team have done amazing things for me and my family. My wife has suffered for chronic pain for years and now is seeing improvements that traditional doctors couldn't create. I've dealt with certain ailments that, again, have simply been treated by a pill in the past. I've seen Dr. Stephanie Culver at this clinic for over 6 years and I saw her for multiple years prior at other clinics. I've never felt like I not only had a doctor, but a friend that looked out for me. I thought I was getting somewhere with the practitioners here, when all of the reviews here came true. The front desk doesn't return calls! They don't keep up with appointments/paperwork. The lab did not even start processing my test for weeks because the clinic wouldn't send the paperwork needed - I wouldn't have known unless I called the lab myself directly. I've tried for two months to get in touch with my doctor for a follow up without luck. While Dr Jameson is good at what she does, I need a doctor I can get in touch with when the meds make me allergic to everything. After 5 years of fighting health issues with no help, this place managed to raise my hopes and crush them like no other. I do not recommend working with them. read more

I was searching for a clinic who took my insurance and made an appointment with Dr. Stephanie Culver. My first appointment was just a general intake with some blood work. She made an effort to get get to know me and my health goals. At my follow up, we went over my blood work results. Her recommendations for my treatment plan were things that I actually want to do to better myself and my health. I love having naturopathic choices in addition to traditional medicine. I've been chronically ill for 35 years and been to countless doctors. I never felt that any of them really cared about me and my health UNTIL I started seeing Dr. Maeghan a few years ago. I am very unhappy with this doctor's office. So much so that I've decided never to come back. I was told I would be given a call about pregnancy test results and never received it. I was also prescribed a medication and never told why. When I called to get answers I was told I would receive a call back. Again, never got that call. I've had amazing care for the last 3 years until recently. I was 7 min late to check in for my in person appointment and was told I had to reschedule. No accommodations were offered, I was out of luck to see my provider that day. I drive from Hillsboro to Tualatin for my appts. I rescheduled for a teleconference appointment for the next week. Not exactly proficient in Zoom, I logged in 6 min after the start of my appointment. Again I was told to reschedule. Anything over 5 min is not acceptable to them. I was so upset. This was the second time I left work to make time for the appt and was denied access to my provider. How is a 25 min appt THAT much different than a 24 min appt? Again, no options were offered such as a shorter appt or try to work me in later in the day. Nope, I had to reschedule AGAIN!! I was very upset and let them know how I felt about their gatekeeping tactics and inflexible policy. All I wanted was the results of my lab tests. So I wait a week for my 3rd appointment and they call me about 30 minutes b4 the appointment to notify that I had been discharged from their practice! I was stunned. I told them how I felt about them valuing policies over patient care, and was rewarded with the door slammed in my face. Again, no accommodations were offered, I was told to kick sand for being literally one minute past their cutoff. I might expect that from a big medical facility with overbooked appointments, but not a small, thoughtful practice as they portend to be. Think about if you will never be more than 5 minutes late ever b4 you make an appointment. read more

Upon receiving the referral to go to Northwest integrative medicine I was excited to finally find a natural path office especially with the words integrative which itself means serving or intending to unify separate things. Well I went there to accomplish just that. Instead I ended up with an incompetent physician who is unaware of how things tight together and due to the incompetence instead of referring me to another physician in the office they deemed to be out of their scope of practice and with Drew their will to be my primary care clinic. I am very disappointed at the service and the willingness to care about peoples health. The few labs I was able to get done clearly stated that I had some underlining issues going on and you guys failed to want to pursue and intending to unify the separate things and find the overall cause which goes against your healthcare label in general "Integrative" this is the third office I've been sent away from being that the ones prior were Western medicine offices I figured that I might have more hope at one that was more holistic and presentation but in the end they ended up treating me just like a Western medicine office. One that does not what to go beyond what's noticeable in approach and recent further dis-ease in a patient! read more

Been going here for a year; fantastic practice that seems to genuinely care about the issues I come in for. Went to so many doctors prior to these folks who would be dismissive right away or run one test then be dismissive. From the first time I saw Dr. True she really seemed to care. She ran a number of tests that other doctor's didn't/wouldn't and found some underlying issues that I've been able to correct. The front office are just as nice and considerate as well. I have referred many people to Northwest Integrative Medicine, everyone has an amazing experience. They all come back with the same thing.... Dr. Maeghan Culver is wonderful. She was my doctor years ago when I was living in Seattle and I feel so lucky to have found her in Portland. She has helped me tremendously with figuring out some complex health problems that I had been dealing with for years and years. Just a few months under her care and I feel so much better!
