Really nice folks. I started out with just their Totally Free Checking and a savings account. I now have multiple accounts, including a car loan, a personal loan and a home equity line of credit. The personal loan came about when one of my credit cards got away from me. The interest rate on the loan was HALF what the credit card company was charging me. I saw some people grumbling about the "shared branching." What's nice is that I have an Alaska Credit Union not far from my house and they're open even on Sundays. And I love the "small town" feel. read more

I have been banking with this credit union for years, but ready to call it quits. Their online banking system was completely down for three days due to a "major system upgrade." When I finally was able to access my account online today, all of my transaction information was gone, and my automatic pension deposit looked like it hadn't gone through. I was unable to reach customer support, probably due to other people having the same issues. For a "major" credit union to force customers to go through this because of an upgrade is inexcusable. read more

I had some issues with this place, so I wrote the CEO about it. He wrote back, saying (to paraphrase) that if I didn't like the way they did business, that I should go elsewhere. Sad. It used to be that if there was a problem that the company would do what they could to "right the wrong". Not anymore. Great way to lose customers! Don't bank here if you expect customer service! I tried to file a dispute on my bank card. Unwilling to go extra mile in assisting & zero compassion for circumstance. I purchased custom-made furniture that had a deliver date outside the 120 day time frame. The company has never delivered product. NW plus is showing they are a small bank with zero power to assist. Went up the chain and same lack of caring or desire to see if they could get visa to work with us. Asked for board of directors names and contact info. They refused to give to me and said they will ask the board if they would like to talk with me. What the heck?!?! As a customer you can't have access to the board? Foolish me for ever banking with them. I suggest anyone reading this not to consider this bank as an option. In response to the banks response*** I have never at any point asked the bank to take a loss on this. How dare they insinuate I have. I have asked the "plastics manager" Sarah Cone to file under codes that others in my situation have had success with. Sarah does not respond to my requests. When I follow up her response is: "Your case is closed and I am unable to pursue any other avenue of resolution." I am not pleased with the level of customer service from this branch. After speaking with Carrie from the Everett Branch on Hewitt, it became clear that our business was not important to her or the institution; from her attitude and overall demeanor. When opening the account the teller was very unorganized and incapable of answering my questions. However, it seems to be a continued failing effort to make excuses for lack of information, not being able to address the customers with respect or decency, then brush you off with snide comments, (like this gem I was given this morning) "Well, you seemed happier at the bigger banks, so it seems like that's where you should be doing business". All in all, the customer service from my local Everett branch is what is making me second guess my choice and look for a different credit union. I'm not sure I want them to handle my money if this is how I am to be treated each time I have a question or need to speak with someone. read more

I really highly do not recommend this credit union. Any ratings above a 2 must be someone who works here that wrote it! There is no convenient atm to deposit your check, pretty much 100% of transactions require human contact (not ideal during covid). Customer service has always been rude. Seriously pay $5 a month banking fee if you have to, it's worth it than have to deal with this place. read more

NW Plus had been recommended to me last year when I was getting ready to purchase a restored '47 Chevy convertible & found out that 99% of banks will not recognize the classic car market/values therefore will not lend on them. Well this is when NW Plus falls into that rare 1% margin. Justin Dalgaard has provided my husband & I with exceptional customer service & we always are last minute & have a short timeframe to work with. We live 1.5hrs away from NW Plus but make the drive every time to do business here. I have read over some of the other reviews & it surprises me since we have had nothing but a positive experience here. Make sure you deal with Justin, he has been terrific! read more

Literally worst service ever experienced in anything. I don't really write reviews ever but these people are completely unprofessional and unhelpful in any regard. They are also stone aged in what they do and things don't come fast enough when they need something from you. I was unaware they didn't know I had insurance on a car I loaned through them and they charged me about 2500 and sent it through mail. They don't do emails and phone calls are nonexistent. Couldn't even change my address on the phone. Hoping to switch my loan to a new bank if possible because they aren't worth the effort of going through. Avoid this bank. read more

I never write reviews but I would like to take the time express my frustration with NW CU. I applied for a personal loan on 1/7 in the amount $5,000 so I can move. Alex at the branch in Everett, WA was the loan processer. My interaction with her was mediocre. She wasn't personable but seemed to know her job. She asked me the routine questions which I answered. At the end she stated she needed someone else to review it and would give me a call once that was complete. She then stated she didn't for see any issues. I then asked her what would the interest rate be, she stated it would 11.5%, I then asked what my monthly payment would be, she stated it would $165. As there were things she didn't bring up. The following day 1/8 I called in to check the status and was informed it was in the process. The gentleman who relayed that information stated "he wasn't sure what that meant". I stated I was working with Alex. He then processed to put me on hold and stated he would try and transfer me. He then came back on the line and stated that Alex said it's being reviewed by Deborah or Debbie. I then received a call from Alex. She asked how much I would be paying towards rent and I stated $600 a month. She stated that's what she assumed. Alex then stated that the underwriter would like a copy of a lease. I was very shocked with this question and asked her to explain on it as I am planning to move and don't have a place yet. She stated that they would like a copy of the lease before they could proceeded with the loan as they didn't feel comfortable handing over $5,000. This was quite offensive as when you apply for a personal loan you shouldn't have to jump through hopes. I then asked Alex how that would work, as I am in process of housing hunting with my roommate. Would I need to ask for a copy of a lease if I decide I like a unit? How long would it take to get the loan? Alex stated she didn't know the answers. I asked if she could find out as I may not be able to proceed with their offer. She then stated that the underwriter is willing to give $1,000 cash. I asked her does that mean I didn't qualify for the $5,000. She again said she didn't know. I explained that I applied for the $5,000 so I can put down a deposit, 1st months' rent, and last month's rent. Also to purchase furniture for my bedroom and my daughters. This can easily be $5,000! I then asked Alex if I did agree to the loan what would be my limit to move, again she didn't have this answer. I asked if she could talk to the underwriter to get those answers for me before I could make a decision. A little background about me. I have been employed with the same company for almost 5 years. I have advanced into one of the top positions in my division. I am currently rebuilding my credit as I filed for bankruptcy almost 2 years. My credit score has increased by at least 150 points in that time frame. I learned from my past mistakes and am rebuilding my credit. I have paid all of my bills on time and plan to do that for the rest of my life. I monitor my credit report and keep my utilization on my credit cards low. Now the way NW CU requested a copy of a lease for me to get a personal loan made me feel belittled and like a child. If I wanted to be questioned and needed to bring proof of what I was doing I would have asked my parents. I currently have an auto loan with NW CU and the interest rate I was given was great, which is why I came back for another loan. But now I am reconsidering having my car loan as the way I have been treated is unfair. If NW CU couldn't offer me the loan then I can accept that, but to be treat someone like a child is unacceptable and derogatory. I feel that there were other options that could have been offered like opening a checking account with direct deposit and/or having automatic payments come out of my checking account none of these were discussed. We have been with NWPlus a few years and have never encountered an issue. Customer service is awesome, always treated with respect, helpful tellers who call us by name. I can't say the same for BOA or Wells Fargo. If you're reading this you may be considering opening an account with NWPlus and I say don't hesitate! Im going to hope that this bank fixes my checking account tomorrow. The teller who was extremely rude, short, and in a hurry, deposited exactly 200$ short into my bank account. crazy how you miss crisp hundred dollar bills when you go to the bank. I even counted it out for her. I hope their customer service doesn't live up to the other reviews of terrible service or ill definitely be pulling my accounts. If they happen to handle in a timely manner, I will update on this. UPDATE---- so after 4 different phone calls and 4 seperate people I finally got a resolution. In the mean time. I was told by Carrie , that the people in the bank come before phone calls. Hmpf, that was great to hear. I got absolutely not one apology from the manager , cherie I believe was her name. Come to find out the teller made a mistake , and they happen. The manager tried to blame me saying I didn't fill out a deposit slip .... Instead of just accepting responsibility. If you do not like fee's and penalty's then stay away from this credit union. And if you try to talk to someone about it they become argumentative, or just pass the buck. The Nordstrom's motto the customer is always right, which made them what they are today NWplus has there own motto, they are always right, or at least Carrie the PR person does. They've always been good to me. Every once in awhile they do something that defies comprehension (like stopping my bank card because they suspected there might be fraud without talking to me). But it's never been more difficult to clear up than a phone call. Meanwhile, they charged me almost nothing. They pay me interest on the money that they hold for me and they've never played any games with my account balance. This is a great deal more than I can say for any bank that I've ever dealt with. I know other people who have had problems with them, but I'm not one of them. read more

I had 2 loans with Northwest Plus Credit Union. I ran into financial difficulty and was unable to pay. I refinanced the auto loan and the credit union closed the signature loan. Part of the agreement was that I made higher than required payments using automatic withdrawal. Everything was fine until I owed less than $100 on the auto loan. Yesterday, the credit union took the full amount of the payment (not just what I owed on the auto loan) causing my bank account to be overdrawn. As soon as I discovered this, I immediately left a message to have it reversed. Instead of contacting me, Nikki in loan servicing decided to pay off the closed signature loan and send me a paper check for the difference. The signature loan was on my debt repayment plan scheduled to be paid off in November. I have other bills (on open accounts) that are a higher priority right now. I have a very tight budget while working on reducing my debt. Instead of working with me, I sat on the phone for my entire lunch break trying to get an answer. Nikki wouldn't answer her phone and my email to her wouldn't go through. I finally talked to Loretta who told me what Nikki had done. Her response: "You should have cancelled the automatic withdrawal. We don't watch the accounts. The system doesn't know to only take out what you owe." read more
