They have a true passion for music, keeping this genre alive and thriving, and believing in every student who walks in their doors! And then informed me that the program I'm looking to be in is only offered in the spring so since I was a semester behind I was actually an entire year behind and wouldn't be able to join the program until the next year. So instead of getting my associates in 2 years I'd be getting it in 3. But I was told as long as I take all of the winter and fall classes I needed I should be able to get into the program the following spring. He told me I just need to make sure I get a spot in the safety class they're going to offer in the fall for my program. Because if I have to take it in the winter I might not get a seat in the program because it's very competitive. So now it's fall registration time and they aren't even offering the class in the fall. So now i just have to wait and see how winter registration for next year goes if ill even get into the program next year or not. Which would have me at this school for 4 years. How stupid that I go to this school for an associates and it's going to take me the same time as if I just went to a university and got a bachelor's. And it would've looked better coming from a university as well. These counselors are a joke and will make you think they're helping you when really they're setting you back monumentally.

Most of the classes entail…read morebuying a textbook system that teaches and grades the course for the professors, and they are very hands off for all of the courses. I was working towards my Master's in finance but opted to switch to another school. I even had a prof that made you request to see the grades results of your tests. Why would you need to attempt to conceal your grading if you are not being dishonest. When I requested to see my graded exam, for the feedback on some of the questions he simply wrote "incorrect". Given this was a math class it should be very easy to provide feedback as to what was incorrect. I didn't have a single professor who came anywhere near justifying the amount of money I was shelling out for tuition. When I withdrew from the course and the school owed me a partial refund of my tuition it was like pulling teeth to get my money back. I had to call and email three times and each time I was told it takes a week for them to process refunds from the time there is a positive balance and asked to wait another week (this was several weeks after the positive balance occurred). I had to pester them to actually have them request for the appropriate department to process the refund.

I just received my degree in English in December…read moreof 2025 and my experience with the professors and Chair of the English department could only be described as dreadful. A full third of my professors had no business teaching reading to second graders let alone being a professor at the University level. Disorganized, poor to non-existent teaching skills, gross ignorance and a propensity to teach Gender, Sexuality, and women's studies class instead of an English class. Furthermore, I was told by the Chair of the English Department, Jaime Goodrich, that it was acceptable for a Wayne State professor to ascribe to flat earth ideology as long as they weren't teaching science. Overall, the quality of the English Department is subpar and a disgrace to the entire concept of education.
