Can you believe that! not to mention the principal at the time was very rude to myself and to other staff including parents! and I had to get my attorney involved! she than quickly shut-up and ignored me. But I think what I want to review the most is that other teachers are still scared to speak up about things. I was an rsed teacher at 3 of their San Jose schools, now I am a public school district employee and I belong to cta (california teachers association) and the benefits from my public school district are for more superior than anything that i had while working as a rocketship teacher. and by unionizing you can have more rights as public employees, because we all want the best. And the biggest benefit of belonging to a union is *tenure and job security. Just remember you cannot be fired for wanting to unionize. And this school and other San Jose RSED schools were threatening my freedom to speak and voice my concerns. anyhow while i was a teacher for rsed we were all sent an email from our ceo! about how *"unionizing prevents being able to accomplish our rocketship mission statement". i know now thats not true! what i was really being told was that the higher-ups didnt want me having a middle-man to protect me. its as simple as that. please know that i support what rocketship does for our children and their families! teaching at rsed were some of the best years of my teaching career. I fully support education but we are only human and we are all teachers who deserve protection, we all have the same goal and want only the best. but at the same time its important to think about our rights as public employees.

For educational purposes, please check other resources I have had young relatives attend this school with good teachers/ experiences Once I came about 10 minutes late to pick up my niece (miscommunication between 220pm versus 230pm ). They call the mom and me ; they had my niece wait by the office with staff and I had to sign in my info in order to take her home. It does show that they care a lot of their students safety. There's multiple playgrounds here for various ages, including the toddlers. My nieces love to play there and it's decently well kept (newer swings, no trash). Also has Large grassy areas too. I walk my dog here on leash so she can run around and play for a bit There's also a back area where there are tables and grill stations to host a picnic by the playgrounds on weekends. Some teachers don't know even 5th grade Math well enough to the point where they visibly get frustrated while teaching it and steer AWAY from Math..OMG. You'd be intrigued to interact with Mister Sweeney - the principal. It is like talking with a politician - every bit of it. I am saving a million words and wring just a few purely for the benefit of current and prospective parents. Advice 1) You are required to leave items (lunch, homework etc) for your child in the OFFICE and hope your child will pick them up. Even when you're a background checked parent, you can't wear that visitor badge readily flashing on the front desk of office and handover item directly to your kid - even during recess. (May be we can reason out that this is fair. But...) You'd then think the office staff will page your child / teacher in time and then hope teacher/child will remember to pick up item. But, according to Mr Sweeney, (and now me), you're advised to keep calling the office to check if they did do their *stated duty* as an adult and did deliver food or homework to your child *in time*. THEY MAY NOT. In short, don't presume the office staff members are responsible adults, but keep checking on them just like you do on your kids, by calling them repeatedly - as per school's suggestion. School provide Freckle or RAZ kids as extension reading practice. Teachers contact parents for kids behaviors. Social worker and psychologist are also onsite to support kids mental needs. PTA organizes some events each year, all family can join. We have some school clubs too. I would recommend this school to other parents.

We just sat and stared up at the sky which is what I never do. It was nice, I guess but it was nicer when we talked about the Spartan race. This school is an automatic chill place when there is no lunch, dinner, or anything else involved - just good conversations. This is a very safe neighborhood. Good school district. The school does not do any field trips because they do not want to go through with the hassle of renting school buses and cost ( I do not know where the money that has been made through fundraisers go, they raised around $10,000). They do not do kindergarten ceremonies or parties or anything special for them. The homework is not challenging or fun. They barely do any art activities. The curriculum is not engaging. Recently looked into every grade section in the open house and each class was so small and cluttered, they need a whole renovation. One third grade class looked like a man cave, not organized or professional. A school should not only be rated by their SATS or grades only, in needs to be the best experience in every aspect from the classrooms to the teachers to the playground.

Across the street is Francis' daycare / afterschool care. The school knows and recommends this place. My daughter was dropped off here before school and was picked up by Francis afterschool. The school provided a very good and safe atmosphere for the kids and so did Francis. I wish my daughter still attends this school; her best friend Ally still attends and her Mom is active in the PTA. It would have been nice to join the PTA knowing a friendly face. I just don't get that good vibe at my daughter's current school now. Parking is horrible in the morning therefore I would use Francis in the mornings, haha.

We took them out after a slur of bullying and not thriving in crammed packed classes of 30 + kids. I drive them to a private Christian school now and I don't have to worry about the experimental covid vaccine being pushed on them like this school or the pressure to have my kids tested weekly for a study program for covid, or the crappy critical race theory junk pushed on them. My kids are learning at a higher level, reading better, handling math better, etc, now that we got away from government pushed common core standards. I know many people in my neighborhood and surrounding love this school but they don't understand the benefits of a private Christian school or how much it would benefit their children. This school is junk. My boys had better teachers who got paid less, in AZ, before we moved here. I wouldn't expect much from a California school though.
