My partner, mother and I stumbled across this pub on a rainy Sunday. It was the sign out the front proclaiming 'Free-range chicken' that really pulled me in, it's flipping hard to get free-range meat in restaurants still.
We each had the Sunday roast for only £4 each, and since they'd run out of yorkshire puddings they topped us up with extra roast potatoes instead. My partner wasn't impressed with the roast pork, but the chicken was delicious and very moist. I've always struggled to eat cooked veg, but the (obviously) fresh broccoli and beans were really tasty when I dipped them in the lashings of gravy on my plate.
The menu was really impressive with pub meals starting from only £2.50, a kids menu, smaller portion option and some unique desserts. The menu also listed the origin (butcher or farm) of ALL of the meat and eggs.
I don't know if I'll ever visit Tewkesbury again, but I would recommend this pub to anyone who does. read more
