I have mixed reviews about this store. Their clothing items are very cute and I loved several items. However, I found the customer service to be very rude. I am an African American female in my late 20's. I entered the store and despite being the only person besides the worker in the store I was not greeted. The store was silent, with no music on and the worker didn't once come up to me to ask if I needed any help. However, when a white customer walked in the door she was promptly greeted with a hello and asked if she needed any help. I had found an item I wanted to try on and the worker saw me carrying this item and never asked if I wanted to try it on. I then was forced to try to coat on without a fitting room. AFTER fully trying it on and taking it off, the worker comes up and asks me if I want to try it on. I then told her that was no longer necessary. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received. I am not a person to assume my maltreatment is due to race, however the fact that a white customer received immediate treatment does raise suspicion. I would recommend this store address implicit bias as to their customers. read more

I stopped by this store with wife on our second day in Omaha. We were checking out the Old Market area and she was excited when she saw the displays from the outside and forced me to go in to check the store out. We arrived at around 11a.m. when the store was to open, but had to wait a couple of minutes before the friendly lady inside realized she had the doors locked and rushed to open them. I let the wife do the shopping and I was glad there was a sofa by the door where I relaxed as she did what she does best - shop. I was surprised when she finished shopping without purchasing anything. I asked her why and this is what she said: " Cute and convenient boutique located in Old Market. Trendy clothing that lacks in quality. High-priced clothes with no lining and exposed seams. Friendly staff willing to help." I guess that is my review... read more

My friend Cindy knew about this shop. I probably never would of entered inside if not for her. But, after we had a wonderful Dinner on a Saturday we came in here. I love the way it looks inside. Old kind of store but, very hip and cool with the wood floors. I liked how things were laid out and spread out so you could actually get a good look at the items you wanted to buy. The first thing that we found was a very unique Black leather purse. I found it first but, then My friend Nancy seemed to really love it. It was the only one there, so I encouraged her to buy it, and she did! It was really nice. A very unique design all made of a rich Black Leather. It was divine, sorry to say I did not get a photo of it. I found for myself a beautiful Dark Grey winter top, and a gorgeous multi layer Silver Bracelet. I cannot wait till I can wear it. It is way too hot here to wear it yet. The prices are high, but there are a lot of nice and different things to choose from. The staff is a little different here. Not overly friendly I have to say. Cindy found a long Jacket that she loved in Winter White, but not in her size. They just kept trying to push the Black one on her. No, she wants the Winter White. I don't like someone to help me pick out anything or shop with me. But, I think they should of tried to order it in her size for her. Went a second time this holiday season while visiting family. Well.. there is some Meh and Yays to this store. The good news is that we purchased a Free Peoples Sweater on Sale at $79 and it's still $129 at Nordstroms as I type this. They have some cute things but some things are sooooo Overpriced.. Skirst that I would NEVER pay $129 for or some other items for $199.. there are some flashy things as well as Lingerie . some funky gowns that I'm assuming are for prom or some sort of Mascarade ball and they have cute hats and tank tops that will run you at least $50.. They sell other brands such as Velvet and if i'm not mistaken a couple of We The Free however that other stuff hmmm I would beg to differ since this is an oldmarket and they don't have other classier type stores here, my assumption that they can charge like this. Perfecly attentive staff (not too much, not too little) for Goldilocksians like me. I must've lucked out ... I went to Nouvelle Eve when they were having a big sale---30%, 50% and even 75% off tons of stuff in the store. I walked out with four beautiful blouses and a sweater ... all for about $80 total. This was a great boutique! read more

Nouvelle Eve is now open again so I decided to check it out. Store looks beautiful and they have a variety of pieces (although still building inventory) and a wide range of prices. Help was friendly. Be mindful of return policy. I purchased a full price item and changed my mind 4 days later and went to return. I was told a store credit would be issued. I was disappointedly surprised. I can appreciate when all sales are final but not full price merchandise. Make sure you are confident in your purchase as I don't recall being told this policy up front (nor did it cross my mind to ask). I like supporting local businesses when possible but I don't find this policy particularly customer friendly and this experience left me not feeling great about shopping here. read more

Not a great experience at all, think Julia Roberts in Pretty Women. I was looking at a display in the store that was actually very beautiful. It was a dress made out of paper and coffee filers. My nieces were asking about the piece and I touched the skirt of the paper dress to confirm that it was paper. One of the sales associates came over to my party and stared me down. We told her how absolutely beautiful the dress was and all she could say was that I needed to leave the dress alone. Even after it was obvious that I wasn't going to touch it again, she reiterated that I needed to leave it alone. I was incredibly embarrassed. I was going to purchase these cute little bras by the register but I ended up leaving because she was giving me an evil glare whenever I tried to shop in the store. I actually own a successful boutique in another city and love visiting cities' local shops to get ideas and inspiration. I was sadden at the sales associate's attitude. I've had children pull down my displays and shoppers are constantly touching my displays as people are naturally tactile. I was surprised at the curtness, in my own place of business I would be appalled at this behavior. My hopes is that writing a yelp review helps the owner speak to her staff to let them know this behavior toward customers is not okay. Also, though I loved the cute bras, being familiar with the brands that Nouvelle Eve sold, they priced their items well over keystone markup which bothers me as a retailer because it is rude and disrespectful to clients. Just because the majority of their business seems to be tourist in their "old market" area of town doesn't mean that they should take advantage of their shoppers. read more

This place is very inconsiderate. Yes, I think that will be the right word for now. Last year I purchased a coat which immediately tore along the seam on the left arm. Not wishing to go back and deal with the salespeople, who were not very kind, I held on to my coat. Now this year, during their coat drive, I turned in the coat for a $25 gift card to use in the store. Little did I know, this card expires, yes EXPIRES on October 31st. Yesterday after completing my purchase of outrageously priced gloves, I asked the woman at the register if she would honor it. She told me no, of course and then joked about being fired if she allowed me to use it. I tried to reason with her, stating I had donated a coat I purchased here that I could no longer wear. She apologized again and turned it down. I couldn't be more appalled by the cheapness and atrocity that is this store. I will return my gloves and never go back. The last local business I will support is one that takes advantage of its reputation and gouges their patrons wallets. I guess nouvelle eve fits the definition: "a good dead never goes unpunished." They have a lot of cute things, the jewelry is very unique. The sales associate who helped me with my jeans purchase was very nice. I didn't give 5 stars because the woman who rang me up (I'm assuming the owner) didn't even acknowledge me or ask if I found everything ok. She just said "83.95 please." No thank you, nothing. She did spend time chatting with another associate instead and paid the paying customer no attention. I just found this to be quite rude and off-putting. Great window displays do not make for great shopping experience. Like a moth drawn to flame I'm constantly sucked into Nouvelle Eve by the pretty clothes in the window but then the $100 tshirts bring me back to reality. And don't even think of walking near the front door! The theft sensor does not like you my friend; it knows you are cheap. I don't mind paying for quality items that will last a long time but the clothes here are overpriced just because the store exudes a too cool attitude. read more

Just popped in the store expecting fantastic, albeit expensive clothes as the other reviews suggest. I found the clothes to be average and not expensive at all. I am from Seattle, and the prices were cheap in comparison. That being said the clothes were not really hip or for someone who wants to look super stylish and unique. 1. There were about four people working, one person said hello. 2. Proceeded to shop on my own, with no help, there were two other women in there being helped, the employees were calling them by name but ignored me, it was like pulling teeth for me to get help or someone to even pay attention to me. 3. I was recently in town visiting from California over the Memorial Day weekend and visited your store on that Monday. I found many items that I really liked and planned on purchasing a dress and a silver necklace for my mom. I was still shopping around the downtown area and didn't want to carry everything around so I came back at exactly 4:55pm to purchase the items. When I went to the door it was locked, even though the sign said they would be open till 5:00pm on that holiday. There were two sales associates at the register who blatantly ignored me even after repeated knocks at the door. I even called the store and they picked up the phone and then hung it up. I have never received just blatant disrespect and poor customer service in all my life! I am in the retail business and worked at Nordstrom in the past. That type of behavior would be grounds for immediate termination. It was really disappointing that I couldn't purchase my items, due to the staff's poor judgment. I will never return to this store again nor will I recommend it to anyone. I also saw the staff wear a shirt right off the rack and then take it off and put a different shirt on. She then placed the previous shirt right back on a hanger for sale! How unsanitary and disgusting! I just thought the owner should know what sort of people you have running your store so I wrote her a letter.
