We come down here from time to time to buy glass bottles of pop from their gigantic selection of novelty and small-brand sodas. Though I have learned that things like "black olive" and "enchilada" are not so much appreciated at family gatherings so now I stick mostly to root beers and fruity flavors. There is also SO MUCH hot sauce here, lots of hot-hot stuff. But that is not really appreciated at holiday gatherings with the family, either. I've visited this shop previously and I still walk out thinking about all of the cute goodies I'd love to take home! There are so many sassy, snarky, and sweet items within. My favorite part would be the section of hand towels or the shelf of cow decor. The establishment is set up like a maze and I definitely took a few passes through to make sure I didn't miss anything! Hello omaha .I respect Ashley's place .I do..I had my door pried open twice and it's on cam and my things were taken twice and one of the managers promised locks on my door and never did the locks .there busted .and everyone has deadbolt but me .I text the manager asking over and over again and he lied to me about fixing the already broken handle and lock..it's not secured entry either..thats even pried open.i just want locks and my belongings back and I feel the manager here didn't call the main boss after he saw everything on cam over and over again.jg here 12-20-24. read more

If I could leave a zero star review I definitely would. My friends and I came into the store to shop around while we waited to pickup a food order we had placed prior. As we looked around I realized that my lips were chapped (winter of course) and the bag I had was roughly laptop sized so it was pretty capacious. As I dug in my bag to try to find this I followed behind my friends while they looked at things, then towards the back of the store I noticed the shopkeeper (man, bald, older) came over to look at us. I didn't think anything of it as it's his job... but as I continued to search I noticed he was following us around the store, and as I looked up through the glass case, there he was, arms crossed, STARING at me. It was making me extremely uncomfortable so I put my bag on the ground and then grabbed the Vaseline I was searching for blindly before. I then said to him "I am not stealing if that's what you're thinking" and he replied "Well you keep digging around in your purse so" I'm not sure if I said anything after that but we continued to look around and we realized that he was still following us, and when I said something to the group of friends I was with he stated "it's my job to watch you" and started talking about the fact that they have cameras and are "watching". We then left after this but Long story short, if you are at all young or alternative, DO NOT enter this store as you will literally be immediately profiled as thieves. I am genuinely appalled that I was treated this way, so much so that I am writing an extensive review for such matters. If the shopkeeper reads this, just know, every time you do this, you are losing a paying customer. This is highly disappointing, disrespectful, and weird. read more

This place is amazing. Had to check it out. Never seen so many bottles of sauces. There was plenty more than just hot sauces but that was my main objective going in here. First time in the worker payed no mind. Came back a day later and a different worker was super friendly. She was helpful on choosing out what I ended up bringing home. So I don't usually write these bad reviews, but me and my friends had such a bad experience it almost had me in tears. We went here June 24th, around 8:00-8:30 pm. Employees had a bias against us the second we walked in. The first employee (female, white, brown-white hair, about 50 or 60 years old) immediately yelled at us when we walked in, yelling "You're not allowed in here!" We stopped in confusion and she goes "Anyone who is 16 and under is not allowed without an adult." Is this an actual rule? I think the employees made it up because they didn't want to deal with children (sometimes understandable but still not right since this was not an 18+ store). While it was quite flattering that she assumed we were so young, we are all 20 and the fact that she immediately got defensive and assumed our age made us very concerned. So, we proceeded to walk around the store. There was one moment that my friend showed me a Jason figure, and I grabbed it to examine it. We had to pick it up in order to see the price since the tag was placed on the bottom of the figure. When I realized it was too expensive, I placed it back. This was the only example I can think of where we "messed around" with their products. They didn't yell at us until we were looking at the cool shirts they had. It was in a dark area of the building and the shirts were all black so I brought the shirt into the light to examine it closely. I hear the female employee yell "DON'T TAKE THE SHIRTS OFF THE HANGERS," which confused me because the shirt was still on the hanger, it was just off the rack. When my friend did the same, they got very angry. The male employee (white, bald/short hair) walked up to us saying they were going to kick us out. We were very confused. We asked him how we were supposed to look at the shirts without touching them. He paused and said something non-coherent about "You can tell the price right here," even though that had nothing to do with the conversation. He then proceeds to say that they were watching us on the camera, and we were touching everything and messing their pristine store up with our nasty hands. We were thoroughly confused and I was on the brink tears at this point. I am very confused and hurt that they had something against us because we looked young and dressed like teenagers. I also want to add that they were definitely NOT sober. The male was very sweaty and talked to us incoherently, and was unable to answer any of our questions. The male employee was also extremely sweaty even though it was very cold in the store. I would say either alcohol or speed. Anyways, just letting everyone know that if you go to this store, you have to be over 16 and are not allowed to examine anything. read more

This store is one of my favorite places downtown. It's a lot of fun to look around but a great place to actually buy hot sauce. The owner is super nice and so are all of the staff. They have always been friendly and make this place an undoubted landmark of the old market. read more

It's turning into more of a market and the food and soda selection is awesome! Since those living downtown might not have many food choices for groceries, this place help! How do you review a store that has such a crazy juxtaposition of items? For me, the name "Ashley's Collectibles" conjures up images of jewelry, Precious Moments and those little ceramic village houses that moms like so much, so I used to be hesitant to go inside the store. But then I finally did and was greeted by a freaking dragon. A DRAGON. I sh*t you not, there is a giant mothertruckin', sparkly DRAGON staring you down as soon as you cross into the store. SOLD! The rest of the store is just as kooky. Yes, there's plenty of jewelry in the cases - gold and crystals and such - but it's what's on the shelves that's interesting. Fairies. Mermaids. Plush piggies in a frying pan (beside the bacon gum, bacon bandages and bacon plushies). Glass paperweights with real jellyfish inside. Crypt Keeper-esque statues. Popeye figurines. Zombie pin-up stickers. 37 scents of incense. Steampunk everything. Wizard statues. Lifesized suits of armor. All in a cramped cavern of a store under the street. My sensitive nose was assaulted big-time from all the incense, but I was glad to see this crazy store anyway. Ashley's Collectibles definitely has a gift for everyone. We always stop in here when we make it downtown a great shop to find that little something you didn't know you needed... So you walk into this place in awe, and you see the prices and are like wow, and then you meet the owner and see how he treats his staff and NEVER want to return. He is a horrible person, that picks up quickly on those looking for a "Special Gift" and then orders his staff to do this do that and degrades them in front of you. Here is what I did. I bought something from there-fairly pricey, but not all that bad compared to amazon.com and such, but then saw how he treated one of his staff members? He said, no no no, you pack it in this, that way it doesn't break, you broke ______ some time ago. It was clear to me that he didn't really care what he sold, as long as he made money, and for some reason, I felt like he was a used car sales man from the 60's. I did keep the item, and gave the staff member a $20 tip without him seeing it and told him he did a good job. read more

First off I'd like to say this used to be my favorite store in the Old Market. The hours online state they are open till 9 on Friday and Saturday yet for the past few weeks everytime we stop by the store is constantly closed. I've even stopped by once or twice early evening and the door is locked. Guess I will be shopping more at other stores in the Old Market. Really disappointed. read more

The lady working behind the counter was extremely rude to my (responsible 12 & 14 year old) kids. Almost as soon as we entered the store she demanded that they place their purchases from other stores by her counter with no explanation. They didn't understand and were trying to ask for clarification and she just kept demanding it. Finally the gentleman working there explained that they might knock something over with their bags, which was utterly ridiculous, but at least he politely explained it to them. Needless to say we did not spend our money there and will not be returning. After we left, my kids told me that they thought they were in trouble and didn't understand why. read more

I've been coming here for a while now to get my incense...while they sell lots of knick knacks and stuff, I really dig the quality incense they have...I always go with the big sticks which are 8 for 3 bucks...a single stick burns for over 2+ hours...I've never had a bad experience here and the employees have always been nice and friendly...be careful walking down the steps though if it's snowed or is wet, it can be a bit slippery... read more

I really liked this store!! It doesn't have your typical stuff and that's what makes this store so great! I bought 4 Christmas gifts for 'hard to buy for' people. I know they will love the items I bought! :) I can't speak highly enough of the General Manager, Connor, and clerk, Marayah, who helped me!! They were extremely pleasant and so very helpful!! I will definitely go back when I get to Omaha and have already told many people about this store. I encourage you to check it out for yourself. I was visiting from out of town and decided to spend my last day with friends in downtown Omaha. We walked into this place and had a wonderful time looking around, they have a great selection of incense and many MANY other things to look at. However the lady working was not friendly at all, my friends and I all have a background in retail and my friend had to "greet" the employee that was working after we had already been in the store for 10 minutes and she seemed extremely reluctant to help me when I asked to see an item kept in a glass case. As we continued to shop the employee proceeds to tell us that she'll be needing lunch soon but to go ahead and keep looking.... Are you kidding? You just made this the most awkward shopping experience ever. We quickly made our final decisions and made our way to the register where I hand her my credit card... She turns around like she is going to run it and then hands it back to me and said the machine wasn't working and she could only take cash.... We had been in there for about 30 minutes and she couldn't have said anything sooner??? My friends don't have cash, so they put their items back and we leave. While we sat down for lunch ourselves we decided to find an ATM. After returning about 45 minutes later the lights are still off and the door is closed, we wait in the cold another 15 minutes before she opens the door from the inside to tell us that she has closed for the day, frustrated we walk away with nothing. I hope this lady isn't the owner, however I feel that's the only way that she still has a job there. She had 3 for sure sales and let them all walk away... If she isn't the owner I hope whoever is realizes that this employee may be driving your business away. read more

The products that are actually in the store are nice pieces, but the staff are horrible. This is the stalker store. The staff follow you around as if you are going to steal something. They just follow you around and stare. I went in with my husband and two kids. It wasn't just us. We noticed that the staff was doing this to everyone that was in the store. I have never had this type of shopping experience where the staff just follow you around and stares at you while your trying to shop. We were there for maybe ten minutes before we decided to leave because of the staff. I did not buy a single thing. Having the staff stalk me thru the dissuaded me from wanting to spend any of my hard earned money at this place of business. read more
