It is spacious and quiet with nice ambiance. It was a little too warm for us the evening we were there (I haven't found much a/c in Vienna). The food was quite tasty, with nice sized portions and served nicely. We ordered Weiner Schnitzel (when in Wein, what else would one order?) which was a very large portion, cooked and served nicely. For dessert we had the apple strudel (when in Wein, what else would one order?) which was delectable. Large portion, we shared it. All in all, a nice place to eat. Would certainly go again.

The restaurant is a very small family run kosher pizza "joint". There is enough seating for only about a dozen people. That said the quality of the food is basic but fairly decent. Fortunately, the menu includes items other than pizza. Spaghetti with a small selection of sauces, a couple of basic salads, a few appetizers and soft drinks. Not a huge selection of items, but what they do have is very filling, and includes different sauces to spice it up, if you like. The drinks menu, though, is pretty extensive. (I was overjoyed to find that they had Malibu.) Tasty selection of Israeli wine, as well as a fantastic hot chocolate with rum for cold days. Downsides: There's little room to sit inside, which discourages big groups. Not a problem in summer, though, since they set up tables on the sidewalk. The service is another story. The servers tend to push by without apology and can be unfriendly and impatient. But I go to Maschu for the food, not to chat up the waiter, so this doesn't bother me. This is only the servers - the two guys who cook and work behind the counter (one also sometimes serves) are always friendly and quick to laugh. I DO go to chat with them. :) Also, watch the prices: The menu items on the Neubaugasse site can sometimes be a few more euros than the same items at the Schwedenplatz location.

I've never experienced this before in my life. Plain and simply, it's thievery. Very unprofessional and I worked as a waiter and restaurant manager for 5+ years. I can't imagine doing this to patrons of my business. Edit after the owner's response: No, not just one star reviews. People, just look at the attitude of this reply, and then wonder if I'm lying about terrible service. There's not one incorrect word in my statement here. I even asked if they'd pay the difference in the check to charity and I was told flat out, "no." I'm absolutely ashamed to call these people my Jewish brothers.
