We needed help getting cabs back to Paris and intuited correctly that this nice hotel might be a good place to get it. We went to the front desk and were immediately assisted by a kind man who asked us if we were guests, then decided to help us even when we admitted we were not. He ordered three taxis for our huge family and we waited in the lobby for them to arrive. They were a long time coming, and I can't say we were especially quiet or civilized, what with our three small, restless children. We took up a lot of space, and my boys were definitely cracking up and running around with their toddler cousin. The lobby was opulent and on theme, with several chandeliers that seemed to echo the Hall of Mirrors. It's probable the Waldorf and its clientele have taken the wrong lessons from Versailles, but I'm grateful to the staff and would look into staying here if I ever needed to spend the night in town.

Elegance, and this place has it, is often inconvenient. To accommodate fire regulations, we had to pass through three fire-doors on our journeys to and from our room. The remodeled bathroom could not find a place for the TP that would not A) get wet (from the curtain-less shower), B) prevent easy access to the throne, and -- most importantly -- C) be within reach. It involved teamwork. The room itself was functional and had the loudest wallpaper in Western Europe: red and yellow, up to a very high ceiling. We did not specifically ask for air conditioning, so we did not get it. We assumed that if the hotel "had" A/C, every room would have it. Not so much. Our room was decorated in the French style, tall ceilings and tall French windows that open. The wallpaper matched the massive drapes. Huge bathroom with huge soaking tub for the weary traveler. No coffee maker or fridge in the room. The bed is pretty hard but the pillows are comfy. Friendly staff and beautiful reception room. Maybe not everyones cup of tea but t's just what I was looking for.

Small bathroom with even smaller shower - they now have the shower head on a vertical bar that it can accommodate my 6'3" height. Shower has a 1/2 wall and causes a lot of water to splash outside onto the counter and floor. Rooms are quiet and have coffee and hot pot. My wife went to use the tub and found noticeable residue. Easily cleaned but will have to tell the management. Number of stars to give? This is the only place in Versailles I have stayed. I have been here 3 times over 3 years. Compared to a Grand Hyatt it is a 3 star. Compared to a Motel 6 it is a 5 star. I would compare to a mid-Level Hilton or Radisson.

The bathroom should be illegal as to how horribly small it was that make it very difficult to use the toilet. It was about 6-12 inches from the wall the sink was located very close to the toilet which made it difficult to maneuver and in front of you stood the door 6-12 inches that almost hit the bed every time you open it, I dreaded using the bathroom and the shower always leaks water on the floor. I would not recommend this place if your big cause it will feel like a prison cell. Have no plans on ever using this hotel chain in the future.

I believe we have assigned to a room with the poorest ventilation. (=mold) What a memorable stay. Poor facility. Broken window. No functioning rotten shower door. Doesn't worth over $250 euro I paid for. Update: I emailed the hotel two weeks ago. No one had followed with me.
