I'm not a true local but they make you feel like one. For me, Sunday is the best day to go. They have a prime rib special Saturday nights and make sandwiches with the leftovers the next day. The sandwich is delicious. Can't go wrong with the Gouda cheese and horseradish sauce. It's in a beautiful lake community. read more

Went in around 430 Saturday not too busy, waited about 15 minutes to get a server to the table. Table Ordered prime rib, shrimp and soup and salad. Finally got our drinks. Food came much later and it was cold! Server finally came back to check 15 min later. She took food back and we waited ... and waited ... and waited. Finally she brought it back... it must have sat in the kitchen bc it was cold again. I've been to this place a few times and tonight was awful. I hope you like Smoky dive bars with amazing staff. If you're lucky enough to be there on the weekend, get a prime rib dinner before they run out. Great leftover prime rib specials on Sunday. Very friendly staff. The prime rib on Friday and Saturday night must be great as the shaved sandwich and egg rolls we had on Sunday were tasty and really tender. The fries at first were under cooked but the waitress offered to cook more even before we said something. As the photo shows the finished product was great. Hopefully we'll pass through on a Friday or Saturday so we can have the prime rib. read more

Boyfriend smokes, so we were happy to find this place allows it inside. It was his birthday dinner. We ordered drinks, pretzel bites with cheese dip, breaded cauliflower, a slab of ribs and the shrimp entree. the shrimps were a little lame, and i wouldn't order again, but everything else? This place is in the middle of no where... literally. You don't end up here accidentally. The place is a mix of nascar loving locals and during good weather there are quite a few bikers in the bar. This is one of those bars that has been there forever. The only reason I am reviewing this place is because its a great day trip, Its a cool drive in and there is a really nice lake a few blocks away (make sure you use the public beach, not the association one, you know how that goes). The food here is great. I would highly recommend the buffalo burger and a glass of beer from Backroads Brewery. This is the only place I know outside the brewery to get Backroads and its great. There is a buffalo ranch a few miles away which is where I'm pretty sure is where they get their meat from and it is easily the best buffalo burger I have ever had. read more

Local dive with a side fries. Compared to most places in the area, this place is actually really good food wise. Their prices haven't changed in years, which is also a plus. The beer is always cold and Mondays are great for drafts. 5 dollar day if you're a lightweight. Great deal. I've only had a couple issues with that place since I've started going there. There is a large chested woman who must be what some refer to as the "town bike" that I see in there every single time I go. She's loud, has no ass wants to take to everyone. Eat some free popcorn and shut up. Other than that, the cellphone reception really sucks there. The WiFi sucks. But I can always count on dollar draft beers on Mondays, WWE being on the TV. Found this place on a Tuesday evening while doing a photo shoot. It's out in the middle of nowhere, but when you're there you are 'Now here'. We were lucky they still had left overs from Saturday nights prime rib dinner. The prime rib sandwicdh was absolutely the best I ever had, great horseradish sauce, with fried mushrooms and onions. They have these sandwiches until the beef runs out. Makes my mouth water just writing this review. Drinks were average prices, menu prices resonable. Not from the area was just visiting family and they took us here. Was very iffy at first wondering how the heck food was going to be good at this place but to my surprise it was pretty good. I had the prime rib and wife had the fried chicken. Both were good meat came out just a tad over cooked but still was super tender. Overall some of the better prime rib I've had. Couple of clarifications on last review. There is no public state owned access to the local lake. Back road Brewery on tap is available locally at other Bar restaurants. The Tavern was the barn to the local farm. It was moved to it's present location in the 1940's. It has been a local summer getaway lake bar for over 70 years. The owner is renovating and upgrading over time. A great destination for a drive in the country. An eclectic mix of people from all walks of life. read more

I like the Nowhere, but I'm done. My credit card was billed twice for the meal, once for the tab, and once again for the tab & tip. When I spoke with the manager, she claimed that it could not have been done by the bar. She refused to provide a plausible explanation. She did not seem interested in resolving the issue. Excellent food and fun in the middle of Nowhere!! Everyone is nice, quality food and good times. A lot of history here! Well worth the drive, grilled chicken salad and friday perch are excellent. food above average. smokers haven with no ventilation so if smoke bothers you keep driving. good local crowd and rarely a problem except for when the owner is there and has 1 too many...which is most always. ask for the prime rib sandwich which is the best dish but they only serve it after the weekend prime rib dinner and when they run out thats it. $3 for a HUGE stein of beer.
