Love Swells! Their food is so good and the service is even better. 4 types of pizza crust (Detroit style my fav so far) and a delicious list of sandwiches. You usually get served by multiple waiters so someone checks on you frequently. As a Detroit pizza aficionado (not really) I had to try Swell's pizza after seeing a photo of it on social media, and it did not disappoint! Swell's lives up to its name as a dive bar with a cozy wood paneled interior decorated with beer advertisements and colorful lights. We ordered a bunch of pizzas and apps. We used the online ordering which makes life so much easier. We ordered 7 pizzas so was a big order. Everything came just as ordered. We got a mix of the thin crust and hand tossed. Both styles of pizza were great. It was not greasy and had a good amount of toppings and cheese. We all said we want to go in the place and give more food a try. I highly suggest if you are looking for pizza and am looking forward to trying it for more food. This place ROCKS! It really is a local dive bar. The whole staff was amazing. There are so many TV's, you can watch such a variety of sports. The music was like old school 80's. There was great atmosphere. Now for the food - My friend got the Meatball Patty Melt and it was on spot. I shared a sausage and pepperoni hand tossed pizza with a friend. I tell you what. The pepperoni was the small crispy pepperoni-yum!! The sausage had a great spice to it. I freaking loved it! Great atmosphere, home town feel and overall a great place. Joined friends for dinner and we all ordered our own pizzas. My husband and I ordered the deep dish. Our friend's pizzas came out and ours didn't because it takes longer. They were all done eating and we still didn't have ours. We asked 3 different times when our pizza would be out. This was our first time ordering dinner from Swells. It was fantastic! Easy ordering online for pickup, and it was ready fast on a Saturday night - even though they had a packed house. The pizzas were great - we tried pan pizza and tavern style. Meatball sub was also a hit. The vibe in the bar (21+ only) was warm and friendly. They have a pool table and a mix of tables and booths. This was a wildly unexpected pizza, one of the best I've had in Michigan. I ordered online and picked it up, which was easy and efficient. The ambiance seems great and the staff were friendly. My only complaint is with the cost, I ordered a single large 3 topping thin crust pizza and it was $25. Now the description said it would feed 2-3 people, so you can probably imagine my surprise when I grabbed the box and had to question if there was actually anything in it. It would definitely NOT feed 3 people and 2 is a stretch, I finished the whole thing myself without any trouble and I'm a pretty small guy. Sunday afternoon bartender was super friendly and attentive to regulars, not so much to someone new just coming in for a drink. Light crowd, yet she still didn't really check back in. After a while, I had to flag her down for a food menu. 20 minutes after that, she still hadn't come back to take an order, so eventually I settled up and left. I had concerns about a bar that says in their name that they're a "dive bar", and those concerns turned out to be well-founded. An actual dive bar gives better service. read more

First of all, let me state that the food was very good. Everything we got was delicious. Our problem was with the attitude of the server and. The extra charge for asking to not put mushrooms and green pepper on half of a pizza. They considered that a build your own pizza instead of a house, special pizza and charge seven dollars more for less ingredients. Three of the four entrées came out, incorrect as ordered. Whether it was the waitress or the kitchen staff 75% of the entrées were wrong. We were charged more money for less ingredients on two of our pizzas. When the waitress came to pick up our bill with our payment, she did not say a word. She just pointed a finger at each one of us to hand her the bill. read more

Very friendly staff, opened early for a fundraiser and the Bears game. The food was delicious. Bar was very clean
