This place sucks just the same as any other social security office. If you want to get something…read moredone here, MAKE SURE you have the following: 1. An APPOINTMENT. No matter what they say I'd make sure you have an appointment, because at any time they can decide they're not taking walk ins and your time is wasted. Don't take the chance. 2. ALL the paperwork or CERTIFIED paperwork you need. If it's a name change or anything like that, make sure you have your CERTIFIED copies. This means the copies you usually pay for at the clerks office with a stamp. 3. Patience. Try not to go in here on a bad day, although I know it doesn't always work out like this. This is a government office running on the lowest bar and can get very frustrating very quick. It's not worth losing your patience. Bless all who read this and hope your social security appointment goes smoothly the first time.

It would be much easier if you could go to a calendar and pick an opening like Quest and sign up for the slot available. I went in to get a simple 1099. The office became full of Spanish speaking people filing for SS Numbers. They had a person coordinating the crew and he seemed to have a contact inside the office. Then the Guard told me that there was a special window for 1099's and after 2 hours, that window never came available. They need a Speed Line for simple items.

We needed a signature for our package she wrote on the back she would be back tomorrow, which was yesterday. She never came back. It's taking me an hour and a half because the tracking number was wrong on the piece of paper. It was correct because when I spoke to them at the one 800 number they gave that to me and told me to call the post office at 8:30 well I called and of course nobody can answer. I called the 800 number again. I said they said you can go pick it up. I said what if she took it with her today it is gonna drop it off. We have no idea and you cannot communicate. We're at this that has to be signed or does this make any common sense? it is the worst Post Office we've ever dealt with. We've had so many issues when we lived on the West End. There was the worst Lady ever and now we live somewhere else and it's still terrible. It took an hour and a half for me to get Reel Liver not till Saturday for something that should've been here Tuesday. By the way she never rang the bell. Let me know if she was here. I am over this place. I would fire every single person. No one seems to know anything the UPS is rank. That's what it is. It's disgusting. Can you tell I'm livid.

This is the South and they love their Confederate War history here. The marker is in great shape and from here, there is a great view of the water. Near this site on March 20, 1863, Confederate soldiers commanded by Captain Walter J. Robinson repelled a landing by Union sailors led by Acting Master James Folger of the blockading vessel U.S.S. Roebuck. The 11-man scouting party of Union sailors was seeking to locate a southern civilian vessel near the "Old Town" spring, when they were reportedly ordered to surrender by Captain Robinson. During the ensuing skirmish, several Union sailors were killed and wounded as they fled to their launch boat. Quarter, or safe passage, was requested by the remaining Union sailors to retrieve their dead and wounded. Total Union casualties were six dead and three wounded. Union sailors buried four of the deceased on nearby Hurricane Island, and a fifth sailor was interred by the Confederate soldiers. No casualties were recorded by the Confederate unit, which later became Company A of the 11th Florida Infantry Regiment. After the conclusion of the Civil War, the remains of the Union sailors were removed to the national cemetery at Fort Barrancas.
