No Big Gulps, but otherwise this place and all of the other Autogrills beat 7-11 hands down in terms of sheer variety. The deli/restaurant actually makes really good quality food. Now, just fix that restroom thing so it's more efficient, and I'll really be a fan of these road stops.

This Esselunga is located within a mall, which I have to say is a new one for me, but the location was good for us to walk to and from our apartment and they had a nice variety of items available for purchase. Staff was nonexistent but we were able to find most of what we wanted without any assistance.

Our Airbnb was directly across from it, and we could see the lines at all hours with mostly locals, which was a good sign. I got the prosciutto and truffle sandwich, and it was dreamy truffle bliss. It is amazing that something as simple as bread, prosciutto, and truffle spread can taste so good. My husband got a salami and pecorino sandwich which was more his speed. He really enjoyed his sandwich and finished it in no time. Prices are cheap enough that we could've split another sandwich if we had had the room, but there was no need. The only downside to this place is the lack of seating. The seating in front of the sandwich shop actually belongs to the bar next door so we weren't able to sit there. We were able to find a public bench on the street to enjoy our sandwiches, but be prepared if you're carrying a lot of luggage around with you like we were.
