I have exactly the same experience with this guy. He never returns calls. How does he stay in practice?

Our experience with Mari started out great, but then communication became more and more sparse. We…read morewere SO close to completing paperwork when she simply stopped returning our messages. The last step was for her to send in the completed papers and that was 5 months ago. Very disappointed.

Update: I received…read moreMarizen's private message and her request to edit or remove my review--this request was notably left off her public comment as noted in the screenshot attached. Since the 2 stars (which equates to the "[service] could've been better") were due to the unprofessionalism and inattentiveness shown (not due to her being an LDA), I have no reason to change my rating or delete my review. TL;DR: Marizen is NOT a lawyer. She is a Legal Document Assistant that cannot provide you with legal advice. She is a significantly affordable option for a Living Trust but she is unprofessional and has poor attention to detail-- key characteristics that are paramount to detailing an important document. Details: I left a Living Trust inquiry via her site and Marizen emailed me back within 1 day to "text" her back for a scheduled over-the-phone consult. Upon speaking with Marizen it was clear she did not take the time to review the few questions I had sent her in my initial inquiry as she was confused as to what the consult would primarily be regarding. Her rates were significantly less than what other competing services were offering which raised an orange flag for me. Upon further research, I realized Marizen was NOT a lawyer, but rather a "Legal Document Assistant (LDA)." According to the CA Attorney General, LDAs cannot give legal advice. This was my first encounter with an LDA, which allowed me the opportunity to do the necessary research to make a more educated investment. Had Marizen gotten back to me with the necessary next steps and questionnaire as she had promised (it's been over 1.5 weeks), I may have considered her as a possible option to complete my Living Trust needs. But if you are looking for a more affordable option, perhaps Marizen is a good fit for you.

I found Four lawyers through Yelp. I did a phone consultation with all of them about my case…read more Andrew was the first lawyer to contact me back with a game plan, and his retainer was very reasonable for a Bay Area lawyer. My case was extremely urgent as my wife was moving with our minor child to the East Coast against my will to live with a new guy she met online. She notified me after she bought plane tickets, enrolled our child in a new school, and put a deposit for a rental property. I had exactly 10 days to stop the move before I lose my child. Andrew did an amazing job filing all the forms in a timely manner. He recommended to file for a divorce and an emergency Ex Parte proceeding. He got me in touch with a great legal server who was able to serve my wife immediately. We managed to legally stop the move, two days before their flight, as the State of California assumed legal custody of our minor child until divorce was finalized. It took 10 month until the case was over. By then my wife had broken up with her boyfriend due to all the legal pressure that Andrew was able to create, and she canceled her move. My only daughter is sitting next to me right now, and we both have huge smiley faces. Thank you Mr. Grant!!!! 5/29/2021

Eric Morales is by far one of the kindest, most sincere and genuine human beings. I have ever had…read morethe privilege in honor of meeting. Although we never met in person yet, he took every phone call even the late night ones where I was crying over my mess of a Family law situation that I'm currently in. But the thing that stuck out to me, the most is that in four years of all this domestic violence litigation I'm in the middle of by my ex involving my four-year-old son, of all the attorneys that have been involved throughout the four years, of all the judges that the case has been in front of over the years, And even my own family members who have now become involved, Eric Morales, although barely knowing me at this point, and only having a few phone calls in between us over the course of a week or two - when I texted him late one night saying something to the effect of " Hi, sorry it's so late, but can you talk? I need input on some thing important to me". His response was simple into the point, but had more of an impact on me than any of the previous people that I just mentioned and listed off. His response was "Yes, can you just give me a few minutes and I'll give you a call right back. Are you safe?" and I can honestly say that's the first time someone is asking me that and genuinely meant it and wanted to know the answer in four years I'm dealing with what I'm dealing with right now in terms of litigation domestic violence and family court cases involving the custody of my toddler son. Not even my own family members have asked how I'm doing recently, if at all during all of this, so for somebody who barely knew me and had a handful of phone calls at best with me at that point, for him to ask if I'm safe, made me feel more seen and heard it like I had worth for the first time for as long as I can remember, at least the last four years. That all being said if you need absolutely anything done in regards to legal paperwork, process serving, non-legal advice because he can't technically do that although he alludes to sound solid, good advice or should I say suggestions that sound like "if I were you" lol he's not only the best in the business as. far as professionalism and integrity and reliable in a field or world that is the Judicial system where honesty and good intentions, and just the willingness to want to help people is so rare it's almost unheard of. And his reputation proceeds him, so I heard through multiple people in the legal field, spanning at least three different counties. But if you read nothing else in this post, I hope you hear me when I say that when you're facing one of the most challenging times of your life and people with good, pure, true intentions are so hard to come by. They're almost impossible to find, Eric is without a doubt and absolute amazing and impossibly good, honest and decent human being. And m that fact alone, especially in the world of court litigation, is so rare that when you come across it you hold onto those types of individuals, you must appreciate them, you must wealth-fully and generously compensate them well for helping you in one of the probably worst times of your entire life - and that's dealing with *any* court division in this country. That all being said when I felt so alone for so many years and felt like I was fighting this fight to get my son back with no one having my back, let alone hearing me and understanding where I was coming from or even just listening to me vent about the same thing 2000 times a day lol, Eric changed that for me and in that moment when he asked "are you safe" that was a moment for me in this process. It changed my perspective and it changed my goals and it changed my strategy going forward from now on. Because it reminded me that I am OK that I am safe that I got out alive that I got my son out safe and that I am still here and I will not be silenced no matter who you are to me I didn't survive what I survived to them be silenced by my own family and just that short question brought all of that to the forefront of my mind and it still is there to this day even though that phone call was weeks ago. So thank you Eric and thank you for all that you do for other people and thank you for letting me vent to you prior to me even sending you a cent of my money and thank you for all of the "non-legal advice" you may or may not have slightly alluded to lol As for who we are going to serve or you're going to serve, and you know who exactly that is, if there's any way, I can pay you extra to somehow record their reactions. I will pay whatever dollar amount you tell me because I would give anything to see the blood drain from their face the moment they realize that I am OK that I am safe that I am still here that I'm not going anywhere I'm not gonna be silent and I'm coming for my son.
