I came out 120% more confident, 130% more dedicated to wanting a better lifestyle, 100% knowing more about nutrition and most importantly a better mentality and understanding how food affects my body. After loosing the fat I had accumulated for many years I now look good and at 67 years old , my Knees no longer hurt when I walk... I learned it was about maintaining lean muscle mass and loosing just fat and how protein appropriate /lo carb eating resets and balances all the systems in my body. Affecting blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol , all in a positive way without medication just eating right. I wasn't going to reply but I really can't tolerate anyone inferring I'm a liar...so let me set the record straight. All the Useful, Funny, Cool votes people see, are from my original review, accumulated over this past year and NOT your reply which again, was just received within the past week..... but nice attempt there to try to take credit The money I paid for this program is NOT double-counted, as you have stated, and I still have receipts to prove it. I started NutraWork's Ideal Protein program in July 2013 in preparation for my October 2013 wedding because my weight loss stalled out on Weight Watchers and I wanted to do something to shake things up given my short timeline. I was thrilled with the results! I lost over 35 pounds (was shooting for 20 pounds) by the end of September -- and it was surprisingly easy. A quick reality check, though: the Ideal Protein approach is pretty hardcore, so you've got to be ready to take it seriously. It was by far the most restrictive diet I have every tried but, that said...after the first few days, it also was the easiest and most effective diet I have ever tried. It's been a few months now since I've been back to eating normally and the weight hasn't come back. (I have adjusted my eating habits, though, based on their Phase 4 recommendations. I'm eating much healthier meals now with the occasional free for all.) I really couldn't be happier with the process or the results. In particular, I found that the individual weekly check-ins were hugely helpful towards success on this program. Other nutritions centers offer Ideal Protein and my sense is that there are some minor differences in cost and coaching techniques. So, I can't really speak to Ideal Protein experiences as offered at other centers, but I was very impressed by the folks at NutraWorks. In particular, my coach, Kelly, was fantastic. Yes, it's yet another 5 star review from a very satisfied client! I'd give more stars if it were possible... Initially I was considering dieting on my own and then a Living Social coupon appeared for a deal at NutraWorks. Being very skeptical and scientific minded I did my research and looked into what others were saying about the program and was extremely impressed during the initial consultation session where they step you thru the science of weight loss. I'm into my 4th week now having lost roughly 20 pounds and I found the program to be very comprehensive overall. I need structure and I really like the fact that every meal is pretty much planned out, accompanied with the necessary ideal protein and viatmin/mineral supplements. Scheduling weekly appointments is also great for staying honest and feeling like someone is concerned with your progress. My guide, Kelly, has been amazingly awesome-- she offers recipe ideas, insights into how the body changes and has been highly supportive. They have the most sophisticated BMI type devices as well so you get to see on a weekly basis how your fat vs lean mass composition is changing. This is the first time I've tried dieting under a formal structure and I would highly recommend the program to anyone looking to lose weight. read more

I have been a competitive athlete most of my life (swimming year round, 20 hours a week) so when I no longer was training at that level, it was a hard transition to adjust my body's idea of how much food I should be eating. I went up and down a bit in weight with different diets. After trying Nutraworks, I was surprised at how easy it was to stick to the plan. It was extremely encouraging to keep on track with the plan as I saw immediate results. In 5-6 weeks, I had lost 20 pounds and it showed! I dropped two sizes and was smaller than I was even in high school. The staff at both Posture Works and Nutra Works are very helpful and genuine. The price for the foods for me ended up being between $10-15 a day which is a huge discount from ordering out food and a small price to pay for getting the results you want. There are plenty of food options to find things that you like and the foods are easy to prepare on the go which is a huge factor in sticking with the diet for me. read more

I was originally enrolled in a ideal protein program by another provider in the east bay. Ultimately, they were not a good fit for me. Under the care of Dr M I have have thrived. I have lost over 70 pounds and more importantly feel like I have my life back. Everyone in his office has been helpful and supportive. Only downside is the products are expensive. But, dieting on your own sucks and I feel like I have a caring coach. Also, the simplicity is awesome. Its worth the drive, or bart, if you live in the east bay. read more

I cannot say enough good things about the team at Nutraworks and the Ideal Protein regime. I was inspired to undertake the program by a friend who lost 40 lbs. My primary objective was not weight loss but to reduce my body fat percentage from 38% to the normal range (25-28%) and to learn how to change my eating habits permanently. The program is INCREDIBLY effective! I lost on average 3 lbs a week and was never ever hungry. I hit my goal of 25% body fat in about 11 weeks, and in the process lost 33 lbs. Five weeks into "regular life," I am still at my end-of-program weight and feeling comfortable that I have the tools to manage for the rest of my life. Nevertheless, Nutraworks team is ongoing resource and I get to check in periodically. The aspect of this program that challenged me most was managing the change in daily cycle of energy (my lowest energy point was in the am) that comes along with eating drastically less carbohydrates. Went here because my goals changed from fitness competitions to getting ready for my wedding and I wanted to see what they offered that wasn't as disciplined as a competition diet. I was really excited to be here and Stephanie was nice and did a good job at presenting. I decided not to move forward with this program for several reasons. There were some red flags for me, but I am analytical so I'm all for facts. I really wanted to learn to eat right not be put on a plan with their specific food. That's like what NutriSystem does. They don't teach you how to eat right with everyday food until you hit your goal or come close to hitting your goal. That's not what I was looking for. I don't want to get healthy by eating foods they made and they are processed foods, not fresh. I want to live a clean lifestyle. People need to break away from the processed food. They said I have to buy their supplements and they listed the supplements, which I already take being that I do bodybuilding competitions, but they said nope, we have to take theirs because it goes well with their food. I don't know why their multivitamin is better than my multivitamin that I have to take their word for it and take theirs. They didn't really explain, we just have to take their word for it and that was a reoccurring theme. They also have something that measures your body composition/fat that they said is the leading way to measure your body comp and again, being in fitness, I know that the best way to measure your body fat is hydrostatic testing (getting dunked under water). I do it several times a year so to take their word for it just didn't rub me right. There were other things that didn't sit right with me, but the biggest was that they said you can't really work out. You can, but not too much, no weight training and when I probed, they said, fine, I can do some but very very light weight. To me, any program that does not promote eating clean, but just their foods and does not promote working out unless it's through their machines downstairs does not sit well with me. Maybe it's just me and not my kind of program and if you want to get skinny, but all means, I think you can based on the testimonies. However, I think a program should teach you how to eat clean such as oats, egge whites, white fish, chicken, lean meats, yams, brown rice AND encourage you to do a healthy amount of cardio/strength training. It doesn't sound right to give you processed, boxed food. That's just like Nutrisystem. And then to not promote working out unless it's on their moving plates/TRX I was in the workshop with two other women who had family who did the program and look great. I was happy for them that this is their kind of program and I wished them luck (they did not know I decided not to sign up). It can be for some people. But if you look at my before/after, I did it the right way through good old fashioned working out (not hard, but some elliptical and weight training) and just eating clean, non-processed food, which is how humans were supposed to live. I had supplements as well like multivitamin and fish oil and vitamin C. I lost 40 lbs in 2 months, 3 weeks but not only that, I felt the best ever because I didn't have processed food in me. I was looking for a program that promotes great overall health, but not as disciplined as my competition diet. In the end, I decided to stick to my clean food but just not be as strict so it's more maintainable for everyday life (like eating 4x a day instead of 6x a day when I was competing). Congrats to all those who did well on this program and I'd say go for it if you're just trying to lose weight. The staff is nice so customer service is not an issue for me. I was at a point of my life where I was beating up on myself all the time and thought that it wasn't worth it to try and look good. Luckily, one of my coworkers went to Nutraworks and told me about how much weight he lost. I got inspired and booked a consultation with Dr. Miller. I want to first preface this review with a few things: I'm not a yo-yo dieter, I have never done a crazy "cleanse", I work out more often than not, I love dessert and finally, I love pasta. Sooooo why did I try Ideal Protein? Despite a cardio heavy workout routine 4-5 days a week, coupled with healthy eating, I couldn't shake those last 5-10 pounds. I watched a few friends (in similar situations) try this and enjoy quick, long lasting results. This is certainly not a quick, gimmicky diet however. I was at the highest weight I had ever been at and I was reaching the point where if I didn't do something now, I wasn't sure I would ever be able to lose the weight. This is a great place to lose weight. I first joined in 2012 after 2 back surgeries and limited mobility caused me to gain weight. It really works and it works quickly. I'm reading some reviews on here about how you have to eat their foods, etc but let me say that I lost fat weight very fast. After the first 4-7 days (which is hell, not gonna lie, craving carbs, low energy, headaches,etc), I felt so much better. Your energy levels remain high all day long. You don't get that sluggish feeling after lunch. The great part is the coaching and the accountability. When you reach your weight loss goals, they do teach you how to eat healthy, regular foods for the rest of your life. So it's not like "here, eat our food to lose weight then bye". After 5 years and life happening, I went back on and loved it. I think the food now is better than it was in 2012. read more

I am new to Nutraworks and can say it works. What's more, the people are nice, informative, and helpful. However, unlike some other reviewers here, I do not think their food is delicious. If you are used to whole, organic, and locally sourced foods, you will agree that a packet of powder mixed with water to make an omelet is not appetizing. I am also finding the food pricing to be unreal and am already looking for alternatives. I know it's a diet, and Nutraworks makes food that helps people lose weight, but $25 for a box of five chicken bouillon servings? I would rather pay Nutraworks more upfront for their coaching and then dish out a somewhat reasonable amount (think Whole Foods) for their products. read more

This place WILL drastically change the quality of your life! There are not enough great things that I can say about NutraWorks, Dr. Miller, Stephanie and Jenn. They are so kind and encouraging. They make you feel comfortable during your visits and wonderful about your progress. They will answer any questions that you have and if they don't know the answers, they will do research until they find them for you. After looking in the mirror one morning, I just couldn't stand it anymore. I had to get the weight off! I want to tell Adrienne G. that: I BEG TO DIFFER! After all those weeks on the program, I learned to eat healthier. My friend and I are both amazed and impressed that our energies were and are high. I did not experience mood swings, as a matter of fact, I projected and still am projecting my happiness. This place is great! The program has really worked for me. It really is about time and commitment...and yes money, too. I've tried all the fads. I've yo-yo dieted throughout my life and that was not fun. I needed to change and do something different. The first part of this program is probably the hardest but if you stick with it and start seeing results, it will motivate you to get to the maintenance phase. I have made mistakes (I'm human, aren't i?!) in this program but the way I've overcome them is having a good attitude and with the help of my coach, Elise. I'm in maintenance now and there are still challenges but I have a better understanding of what food is to me and continuing my journey towards optimal health. Hi All! If you are looking to lose weight, then this is the diet to be on! My sister-in-law introduced me to Ideal Protein. I have been struggling with losing weight from the birth of my twin boys, and considered going on this diet. I contacted Dr. Miller and Dr. Levin's office and signed up for the informational seminar to learn more on the theory of the Ideal Protein diet. Everything made sense and I decided to give it a try. Long story short, I lost 25 pounds in 3 months! While the weight loss sounds amazing, it truly was just the "icing on the cake" so to speak. The true value of being on this diet was the lessons I've learned on how and what to eat, and how it relates to the different functions of my body. This place is a blessing sent to me. My life is completely changed since I started with NutraWorks. I started NutraWorks in June of 2015. A decade ago , I had gestational diabetes with my 2nd pregnancy and was on insulin. Luckily the diabetes was resolved after I had the baby. Having said this , my family have a significant history of diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I have a lot of health concerns for the last 2 years. I had been pre diabetic , elevated cholesterol, BP is starting to get out of control ,lots of aches and pains everyday from excess weight and putting so much stress on my knees and back , living with 1600mg of Ibuprofen to get me through the day. My PCP had been convincing me start on medicines for my blood sugar and cholesterol since I have not been able to lose weight nor exercise. So I have to make an important decision , take meds or lose weight and stay healthy. I decided to take charge of myself and opted to stay healthy and lose weight. I knew for sure based from my previous experience that I will fail this goal if I don't seek a professional help when it comes to this regard. I will find every excuse to rationalize my weaknesses. I knew a friend who had gone to Nutraworks and had an amazing results. So I decided to go and find out what this place can offer me to achieve my goals. I attended the introductory meeting which covers how the program works and what to expect. It was very informative and relaxing meeting. Stephanie is the program manager who is so knowledgeable and very accommodating to us . And I said to myself , I can do this program because it's goals is lifelong health maintenance not just for the purpose of losing weight at present. It basically teaches you to manage your health and make smart food choices to ensure your well being for the rest of your life. They don't put any pressure on you signing up on the spot. I like the fact that I meet up with my coach every week because it makes me feel accountable and I get advise on what I can do better next time to achieve my goals. They do a body mass analysis every time you meet up with your coach and you both can discuss what you needed to do for the next week's plan . Not even 3 months into the program, I had my labs drawn to do my annual physical with my PCP, all my labs came back normal. No more diabetes, cholesterol are all within normal limits as well as my BP. I am pain free as well and no more pain medicines for me. Yehey!!! This means no medicines for me. My PCP was so thrilled to see me looking in shape and healthy. I achieved my weight loss but most importantly being healthy. I learned a lot of important tools/info from NutraWorks to maintain how I can continue to live healthy. I hike 15 miles a week, have more energy and feels good about myself!!! I have inspired friends and family that they can also do it , if I was able to do it. I had set a good example to my children and family . And all of this is because NutraWorks had helped me to be where I am now. NutraWorks, I can't thank you enough for the support and care that you continue to give me.
