I'm not heavily into the whole Woodstock thing and whatnot, but always up for seeing and trying…read moredifferent things, and when I saw this on the listing of trips from the tour group, it sounded interesting, and I decided to check it out. Now, we only had a 1.5 hours so most of the time I spent was in the musuem, but the grounds are immaculate, and you can see a variety of the sites from the Woodstock festival, including the actual historical site. The grounds could be a little more clearly labeled, but otherwise this is a nice stop.

I wouldn't return to this venue. Got tickets to see Paul Simon. Well first when you buy tickets on…read morethe lawn they make you add on lawn chairs rentals. You can't bring your own, so bring a picnic blanket. Getting in and out is a nightmare. I also suggest if you have lawn tickets to get there early and not sit on the top of the hill. Was actually really enjoying the experience until the concert started. Maybe the pavilion is better, but you have to endure a lot of background noise from venders (there was a loud kettle corn stand right near me) and other guests treating a concert like a picnic in the park where they can speak freely. I had to listen to people's side conversation while I was trying to listen to Paul Simon play. I typically wouldn't blame the venue for inconsiderate guests, but the speakers and sound quality were so soft it was impossible to tune them out. I left early to beat what would have been a nightmare leaving and I wasn't going to be able to hear the music well anyway. The Paul Simon tour was called "A Quiet Celebration" it probably was not the right venue for this kind of show. You could say maybe I should have been earlier and gotten closer or payed more for the pavilion, but the people on the top of the hill deserve a concert experience as well.
