I followed my psychiatrist when he switched to Pacific Phoenix as I really enjoyed working with…read morehim. He led to me being diagnosed and medicated, which has greatly improved my life. I have been on the same medication, with one increase in dose, for 1 year and 3 months. He is currently on leave, and I have not had an appointment in some time. I submitted a routine refill 2 days ago and was informed today that Pacific Phoenix would not authorize my medication without a new appointment, with a new provider. I learned on the phone that I need to make an appointment every 9 months for authorization on my medication, and they waited until my prescription was almost out to bottle neck and prevent me from refilling. This was NEVER communicated prior. This is a medication that gives withdrawal when not taken, as a physiatrist office should be well aware of. If this process had been communicated and given ample notice in advance, that would have been fine, but now my health is jeopardized, and I will likely have to take time off work to deal with an oncoming preventable illness. It feels like an act of greed, and that they do not care about the wellbeing of their patients. Would NOT recommend.
