First off I would like to write this review in the least offensive way possible. I support NYPD 110% and as a nurse I work hand in hand with them all the time in the emergency room. I thank all officers for there support and contribution to our society. This review is based solely on the disorganization of this Precint. Now, this Precint is a DISASTER. One hand does not speak to the other. The sergeants at the desk always look miserable. The officers that work here are not consistent with directions and one officer will give you directions to pick up an accident report, you'll listen only to hear different directions from a different officer. The Lady with the short black hair that works there at night, so so rude. I mean if you see her just go hit your head against a light pole as it would be less painful than dealing with her attitude. I don't think I've ever come across such a bitter woman. She doesn't want to help you and to get to speak with an officer about an accident report she made me wait over 2 hrs because she said she wouldn't call him into the station until his "tour" was over. So I sat there with two family members while over 20 officers passed me and maybe one in the 20 tried to go out of the way to help me after I was told that I could come in at any time to speak with the officer. If you have an issue go to your car and talk to your steering wheel and, you will most likely get more feedback. We don't get to choose a Precint most of the time when things happen but this is just a Precint I wish I never had to come to. I've been to the Precint over 4 times and my issue still remains open, mostly based on the fact that they utilize the perfect example of poor communication! A living unprofessional nightmare. My neighborhood is filled with screaming vendors and I called 311 everyday last year literally everyday to tell them to shut the fuck up so that everyone including me can finally get some peace and quiet. Guess what? Everytime they reported that the fixed the problem or the "evidence" isn't there. (There's plenty of daytime evidence! ) then the screaming just continues the next day.. it's like they don't even care!!!!!! I wonder why 68 still exists since they are good for nothing! My bag was robbed from car. Everything was open and we were on our way to a party. So we cleaned up the car. The cops said that hinder the investigation and they couldn't do anything. The items stolen were valued at 500$+ There are TWO cameras in front of the building. No help at all from them. They are the worst, most horrible precinct, and lazy. Was issued a parking violation ticket in 2020 by an unknown Officer of the 68th, name of officer not legible on the ticket however the Tax Reg No. 914351 CMD: K510 or S10 on a vehicle we sold back in 2017!! The ticket was hand written and is a fraudulent re-write! Check your tickets if written by this precinct! Very scrupulous practice of copying information from previous tickets and re-issuing. I wonder what repercussions I could get for writing a truthful review-but a log is good. FIRST AND FOREMOST HAD I READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE I WOULD NOT HAVE ASKED THE 68th PRECINT FOR HELP. I UNDERSTAND NOW. ONLY GO HERE IF YOU WANT THE FOCUS TO BE ON YOU. I placed a bike outside a store (that's on me it was broad daylight but this is Brooklyn So I get it Now) and it was stolen right away. I have the gentleman who stole the bike on video, and I immediately calld 911, probably 15-20 minutes after the crime took place. Silly Me I thought I should report a crime when it happened. DO NOT REPORT A CRIME if it happens. The police officers, two young Rookie officers (minority females - just to be descriptive) came. Upon approach I shared with them the description of the perp and asked them to find the bike. They wanted to validate my claim. After seeing the video they took MY Id and Said "wait here we will look for him" less than 5 minutes later they came back with MY ID Said they had an important call and they would be back. I then took my Dog and ran with him to the police station to file a police report. BIG BIG MISTAKE. DO NOT FILE A POLICE REPORT! After asking for the desk Sergeant, a Plain cloths officer took charge and shared to the Uniform Officers that that wasn't necessary and they could help me right now. To their defense, I was under the impression that if I gave the officer's a description, and they can validate my claim which they did they would "solve the crime". I didn't know a stolen bike was so far on the totem pole that it didn't warrant the officers to un-slouch themselves from their chairs. I respect all NYPD officers, and what they do for the community. I am an honorably discharged Marine Corps Veteran, and asking them to file a police report was not in my best interest. Since then I have had detectives calling me wanting to ask again what had happened. It's on the police report but I understand they want to hear it again. Today the detective called me and he definitely questioned me like I was the subject of the investigation. Its understandable, I guess when a Police report is filed everyone is now under investigation. What got me though is that he was doing his detective work and was surprised to hear that a video existed. Do the Patrol Sergeants even communicate to the detectives. Please communicate guys. At this point I understand the Bike is gone and it shouldnt have been reported. I can only pray this doesnt cause me more inconveniences. Had I read the reviews I would not have filed a Police Report, and would have continued on my day. I respect the POLICE and everything they do for our communities, but this incident was a little off. Had the sheer displeasure of encountering officer Carson. I had just parked on 5th ave, got out and was at the meter to pay and before I know it, she's standing at my car giving me a ticket. I was shouting ma'am and she was looking only slightly side to side which gave me the impression she was ignoring me. I walked away from the meter to tell her I had parked just seconds ago and was paying. She already was printing a ticket and told me it was my problem now and that I didn't have a parking receipt in my hand. I explained to her the only reason I didn't finish my payment was to approach her and stop her from giving someone a ticket who only parked less than 30 seconds ago. For how fast she printed my ticket, she had to have seen me get out of my car and walk to the meter and just wanted to ticket me anyway. Thankfully, a man who works for a phone company was nearby and saw everything and came to my defense and she was even more rude to him, questioning why he was even addressing her. I told her multiple times I had parked just seconds ago and she didn't believe me. Even though there was a witness to defend me, she wouldn't take back the ticket and now I have to waste hours of my life disputing it. Cops wonder why society believes they're the bad guys? It's minuscule and petty situations that are blown out of proportion like mine that show us that they ARE the bad guys. One of the most twisted and backwards things about society are how cops treat civilians. They attack us instead of protecting us and have no respect or honor. Three robbers were finally caught by 4 outstanding detectives from this 68th precinct! These three crooks had been robbing houses all over Brooklyn targeting Chinese residents for years. I honestly do not know where to start... My mother was in a car accident about two weeks ago and the officer whose name is on the report is of the 68th Precinct. Not long after the incident, our insurance company noticed a flaw in the police report and requested it to be changed; they believed that the opposing party may be using this flaw to their advantage. We called this precinct multiple times every day since this discovery but they only answered a handful of times; we also visited the precinct on multiple occasions. Finally, we managed to catch this officer during his shift and we told him what we needed (mind you, my mother and I had no idea what the police report codes meant and assumed that police officers should know since it's in their job description). And these are a few things that I noticed during this encounter: (1) the officer seemed to have received no formal training in dealing with these scenarios (2) he did not communicate what the changes were and he was mumbling to himself (3) the officers colleagues walked around ignoring all concerns that weren't their own All in all, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Alright, everything else seems to be good right? The changes were reported to the responsible officer and we will receive the amended report in 48 hours. Nope, we were wrong in this wishful thinking. We called back 48 hours later and asked if the changes were made. Apparently, the box that says "Amended Report" was checked BUT when we inquired about what changes were made, none were. I personally went online and searched up these police codes to see what they signify (which I highly recommend because even officers are incompetent). I proceeded to write out a detailed sheet with the changes needed; it was both color coded and I had the important bits highlighted. We visited the precinct again and I had them staple my sheet to a copy of the police report (because the responsible officer was yet again absent, surprise surprise). I even ascertained that the present officers understood what I meant on my sheet. I called back in every day to check on the status of the amended report and whether or not the responsible officer was available. And every time, the response would be: "I see the 'Amended Report' box is checked but the changes you are asking about are not here" and "Officer -------- is not available right now. You can call back around 4pm to see if he's here for the later shift." It has been more than two weeks since the accident and this is what I now know: (1) NO changes have been made. Not even the ones that Officer -------- submitted, whatever they were. (2) Two days ago, I was told that Officer -------- was on leave and will not be back for a while. To me, this seems to be important information that I should have been told about in advance, either by the officer himself or his colleagues. ESPECIALLY since this one officer is the ONLY one who can make changes. (3) The opposing party's insurance company has declared that they are covering zero liability; in other words, they are pinning the fault on us even though their client is the one who crossed a double-solid yellow lane divider and hit our vehicle. We explained the urgency of the matter to the precinct and they ignored us. (4) I was given another department's [Highway Safety] phone number to call because they could make changes in the responsible officer's absence. But they, too, never pick up. I've left several voice messages to no avail. Most people who suggest that we visit the precinct in person; visits seemed to produce more progress than a phone call. I agree, however, my mother and I currently do not have a car to use because it's in an auto shop undergoing the insurance companies' inspections. The times we did go the precinct, we had to call in favors with several friends. IN CONCLUSION: I had a great deal of respect for the officers that serve our city and our nation. I know some individuals will really put their lives on the line to save others. But the officers at the 68th Precinct have caused me to lower the respect I had. We count on these "knights clad in navy blue" to uphold rightness and deal justice where it's due. However, their ignorance in basic matters, lack of communication, and overall laziness is suffocating. It aggravates me that I am in a zip code within their jurisdiction. read more

I've been to several in my life. I went here a few years ago to obtain federal finger prints for a job abroad, and they were very kind to me. However, back when I lived in their neighborhood, I was being sexually, physically and verbally harassed daily by my neighbors. They laughed at me when I went in and asked for a restraining order. I also asked to be escorted home once when I had death threat voice mails on my phone (which I shared with them), and they also refused. Isnt that what the police are for? Finally, the people harassing me threw a brick in my window, broke my husband's nose, and sprained my hand as I was trying to defend myself from being hit with weapons. I called 911. Despite the 16 months of reports and attempts and literally begging them for help and safety, they decide to arrest not only the kids harassing me (with warrants for felonies) but also myself and my husband, both hard working citizens with no legal record. The treatment I received at the hands of the cops who wrongfully arrested me was terrible. They were so physically rough with me and gave me no explanation as to the arrest, which shocked and baffled me. When they did finally "explain", it was by screaming insults and condescension at me. I was freezing and denied a blanket (they confiscated my coat). They were disrespectful and demeaning and called me a spoiled princess when I complained about the cold. I'm not a veteran of being arrested, so I found this treatment entirely inhumane, especially when I was the victim calling 911 in the first place, and after months and months of other 911 calls regarding the same perpetrators. Of course, they fingerprinted me and interrogated me about my scars and distinguishing characteristics and further treated me like a criminal, not a victim. Then, my case was thrown out of court. (to artificially keep crime levels down!!). However, in court I had problems because the arresting officer got my birthday wrong on the paperwork. His fuck up - my problem - took a lot of phone calls and paperwork to fix this cruel cop's mistake. I went back to the precinct to obtain paperwork, as I had a lawyer looking over the case and its mishandling before my court date. I was refused two times, very rudely. Not only by their desk worker, even when I asked to speak to an officer, he dismissed me rudely. These typical power-corrupted brooklyn cops fit the stereotype for NYC police and are sure to inspire rap songs. Thank god I don't live in their jurisdiction anymore. They were useless, allowed me to be harassed constantly. Allowed me to live in fear of my life, my sexual freedom, the the safety of my husband and family. They allowed my family to be seriously injured (with weapons) multiple times and they allowed my property to be damaged (which I couldnt file a claim against because this precinct lost my paperwork!!!) They allowed wanted felons with warrants to harass me until I had to move away. They do not respond to 311 calls or anonymous tips. they claim to be too busy. my car was stolen in 2014, they were useless. My home was broken into in 2009, they were useless. My RV was stolen in 1998, they were useless. I cant remember a time they were actually helpful in stopping or solving crime. Theyre just good at scaring innocent victims and allowing crime to continue. Theyre good at messing up paperwork and depriving people of justice. Theyre good at making assumptions about people based on the way they look, instead of their criminal record and job history, etc. No one really has a choice when it comes to neighborhood locations where crime occurs, but if you DO have a choice, DON'T GO HERE! They don't care. This is not a precinct of compassion or respect for justice. I see them at the bagel store every morning being loud annoying entitled cops. Theyre walking stereotypes. Hopefully they have to wear cameras soon so I could have proven my mistreatment at their hands. read more

Well, my experience there from beginning to end with every police officer that I encountered was professional, polite, helpful, kind, patient...I could go on and on. These brave woman and men at The 68th Precinct, especially Officer Drozd treated me with kindness, dignity and respect. Something I was dreading turned out to be the best part of my day. WOW. I had gone today and the lady at the desk has kindly helped me although everyone there had ignored me. They asked why I was there, and I was there to give information I had received on my incident. There were 3 victims, 2 friends and I and the officers at the time had told us to call a number on a paper they had handed to us to get out report number. We were informed there was 1 report number. However, I went today, told them our report number and the lady on the computer had glared at me and had claimed I wasn't in the incident, although my other two friends were in there. I had also done the paperwork, reported the incident and went to the station to give them what they wanted, but all I had earned was glares and the only one who could use the computer was unwilling to help. I left the station empty handed and my friend who had gotten the report number cannot go to the station and yet the officers are forcing me to bring her to the station. I had plenty of proof to show I was involved in the incident and yet they were very unwilling to help.(Phone number, Date of Incident, Stolen Items, Victim phone numbers, Time of crime, Proof of robbery, even the paper the officers handed me that recorded the information on the report) I had even double checked by calling the station for my report number and they had told me to ask my friend for the report number. The officers took my information and didn't bother checking to see if they had made a mistake in claiming I wasn't in the case. They hadn't cared that I needed this solved and for them to do their job properly. The lady at the computer had such a great time laughing with the other officers as I am standing here, needing my incident solved soon, since they are laughing while I could be finding the items that were stolen from my friends and I. I see a kid cannot go to the police station to report anything if the officers are willing to treat us unfairly. A man had walked in minutes after I had and he was helped gladly and was treated as if he was a CEO of a famous company and yet I am forced to bring my friend to the station and I was not treated nicely at all. Please improve on your social skills and treat everyone kindly. I am not very happy about coming back here and I would prefer if everyone reporting their incident was treated nicely and fairly. read more
