Community Affairs department might as well not exist - they don't do anything. Why is this being funded if they don't do anything for their community? This department exists to build trust and solve neighborhood problems, but they literally don't do anything (as you can see from the frustrated community themselves leaving reviews below). I'm actually stunned to have caught them in multiple lies stating they "came to check out" a problem that the community has been complaining about over and over - but they blatantly lied and never did and continue to ignore it, despite there being a very serious and obviously illegal problem going on. They'll even ignore you no matter how many times you follow up. This is how bad things happen - through careless actions of NYPD officers such as the ones at this precinct. It's really sad that this is what we're supporting, when they can't even support or help their own community that they're employed to do, when they're in need. I really wish there were actually officers at this precinct that took pride in their jobs, and put effort into making the areas they cover a better place.

I've had a couple of bad experiences down this way in Sheepshead Bay with cops that were thinking they're above their station, and they're not very honest and they always think they're right and sometimes I suspect they know that they're not right but still act as though they're right and it's just a broken system and the word finest is misplaced and that's the nicest I can be about it. This neighborhood is relatively quiet, but complaints at night are NEVER resolved, simply because there's only a couple of officers on duty at night. If you have a "quality of life" complaint like a loud party or drunken guys being loud and obnoxious, forget about the police coming to help. A few weeks ago some guy's car alarm started going off at 8pm. I called the police. So did both my neighbors and probably everyone else on the block. None of us got sleep. The alarm was still going at midnight, 3am, 6am, and then finally at 9am the owner came and turned the alarm off. In other words, despite the fact that everyone on the block called the cops, they never showed up. Same thing tonight. A neighbor is having a noisy party at 1am and the 70th Precinct switchboard operator says there are over 20 "jobs" ahead of this. I asked him how long would it take for the cops to come and shut the party down. The guy said "don't hold your breath; probably won't come at all". Utterly useless. Precinct 70, you suck!

They are useless in helping you locate your missed deliveries and will ask you if you understand what that even means?! Huh? That didn't make sense huh? Well, that's the same energy, same vibe this office gives off. Tread VERY carefully, neighbors. Not even your kindness could cleanse the accumulated distress this environment is filled with. Swimming is strongly discouraged and downright dangerous. One can easily view the Quester 1 located in the middle of Coney Island Creek from Kaiser Park or Calvert Vaux Park. The Quester 1 makes for great photos for photographers and a well known site for drone operators to snap pics. Great landmark for kayakers to get up and personal as well. It's history is amazing considering it was all home built. More information on this can be found at the Coney Island History Project's webpage. For decades it has been Coney Island's very own"Roadside attraction", with very few even knowing of it's existence. It's free and the hours are 24/7 for viewing. Pet friendly.

I've only been here once as I do prefer to bring my child to the Bay Ridge Location because of the set up. But my impressions are that the staff is very accommodating and are ready to help when necessary. It seems to be much quieter than the BR Location so, if you do need a quiet space for study, this would be the right location.
