BEWARE of Samantha Laughery!!!! We were referred to Nystrom & Associates by Essentia Health Urgent Care in Baxter. My mother was scheduled with Samantha Laughery which was the worst placement possible. Samantha routinely canceled appointments and often no-showed without notice or communication. We left several voicemails with Samantha which were never returned. My mother broke down yesterday because Samantha didn't show to my mothers appointment for the 6th time in 5 months. I spoke with Samantha Laughery in person and she became defensive, wildly inappropriate and when asked why she is no-showing my mothers appointments she held her hands out saying she "felt attacked". During my conversation with Samantha, she was rude, uncaring, and passive aggressive. She tried blaming these no shows on her secretaries and technology. Samantha is suppose to be teaching accountability and yet doesn't hold herself accountable. I'm appalled that this therapist doesn't recognize it's every client's worst fear to gain the courage to open up about your feelings to find that your therapist is no-showing your appointments without notifying you of cancelations or schedule changes. People turn to psychologist as a last hope, and it's startling to come to the realization that a professional could, in actuality, do more harm than good. Was dropped for making a mistake in a written communication to psychiatrist after he made a medication error which was about the 3rd time he's gotten dosage wrong with me. He then made it so no other psychiatrist in the area would take me during a pandemic when I was already severely struggling. I had to wait 7 months for the appointment and he canceled it because he was literally very emotional over the mistake I made. I did apologize and admit it was a mistake. He did not refer me or give notice like he was supposed to. I was left with no help and only whatever meds I had left including the wrong dosage that I've been forced to take as I had to wait for insurance to cover the correct dosage. The timing was about the worst it could be as well as several major things had recently happened so I was left in about the worst condition a psychiatrist could leave anyone with no recourse or help or resources.
