First visitors included Napoleon and kind Willem I Today, it is a much beloved local theatre with one stage. Shows can sell out very quickly, especially the oudejaarsconferences. In the oudejaarsconferences in December and January the past year is reviewed (in Dutch) with a Dutch sense of humour. I like the music performances in the theatre as the setting is very intimate. For most shows, it is good if you understand some Dutch...but there are certainly shows where you get by without knowledge of this language. Tip: - There is a reason why some seats are at a much lower price. Do check out your seat views before you book, or you may get disappointed. - On the uitmarkt (in August), Kleine komedie often sells tickets at a nice discount. It makes sense to plan well ahead. - I booked one time for a group of 10+ friends the balcony. Was fun to have our own "skybox". To book, I called with the Kleine Komedie.

The venue seats around 100 people I think, and has had its share of Dutch cabaret/theater super stars, probably thanks to the patronage of people like Paul van Vliet. We tried to reserve tickets to a test run of a show by Droog Brood, but on the day of the performance, when I went to see what time it started, I realized I'd never received a response to my email. As I had booked two other things and emailed with those theaters, I guess I never noticed that this one didn't respond. I contacted them, explained that I was only in the country for three days, and that this was my only opportunity to see Droog Brood. They wrote back saying they were totally sold out, but would see what they could do. Only minutes later they informed me that they'd arrange seats!! So thank you, awesome people at Pepijn, for making this happen for us. We really enjoyed the evening, and we're so glad you were able to help us at the eleventh hour.

Looking for a great way to spend a couple hours on any evening in Amsterdam...and not like "that"?…read more This is the place. Burlesque dinner show is worth it. While the food is nothing to quite write home about, it is good and you wont leave hungry! Decent bottles of wine for surprisingly good prices. Main attraction, however, is the entertainment. The MC looks like a more attractive version of your grandma, but it's charming, she's funny and engaging with the crowd, and works the room with effortless ease. Main performer is beautiful and knows what she's doing with burlesque - a real pro. And if (when?) you get invited to join that table of two attractive "sisters," visiting from "Australia,"...word to the wise: just remember...you ARE in Amsterdam.
