The narrow tunnel is cleaved from coquina stone and wedged between rows of multi-million dollar estates and the golf course for one of Palm Beach's elite private clubs. The road was carved through the hill -- which is made of coquina, a type of limestone that has pieces of coral, sea shells and marine invertebrates, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration -- in 1916 after a powerful hurricane cut off the North End from the rest of Palm Beach. These cliffs are the Coral Cut, or, more colloquially, the Witch's Wall -- one of the most storied and spooky spots in Palm Beach. One story says the little space is haunted by a girl who was imprisoned there. Some who tell the story say it was a witch who kept the girl captive. Another story says the small window led to the lair of a witch who would lure children through the gate by tempting them with sweets. Yet another tale says the cliffs are haunted by the spirits of sailors who were stranded on the coastline hundreds of years ago.

On the the southwest corner of the Palm Beach Country Club you will find Coral Cut also known as…read morethe Witch's Wall. It was created from a deposit of rock and coquina shell up to 200 feet tall that is the result of the intracoastal to the west and the ocean to the east converging on this spot. You can see the layers of sediments where they cut through to create Country Club Road. While this is an interesting place from a geological perspective what makes it fun is all of the legends surrounding this road. On the south face of the walk is a small window with a covered gate. Stories say a witch living on top of the mound would kidnap children and lock them behind the gate, hence the name Witch's Wall. What the gate is really guarding is a pipe that leads to a water pump station. Some of the spooky stories may stem from the fact that the road is very dark at night except for a single cage light on the stone wall. If you decide to drive down this road take it slowly because it is very narrow and there are signs reminding you not to stop. Once you emerge from the wall there is a gorgeous view of the Intracoastal awaiting you.

It's located in Downtown Jensen Beach and they close of the main street, and one street over so vendors can set up shop along main street, and the rides and stages etc are one block over. We walked down mainstreet and perused the vendors which were selling a wide range of interesting art, some clothing, jewelry, and some food as well. The carnivalish street has lots of activities for kids, and some more food and drink options as well. The stage is set up in a parking lot with some seats and room to dance. I thought it was well laid out and looked fun. I wasn't particularly wowed by Pineapple festival, but we don't have kids and besides the restaurants that we know and enjoy on the perimeter there isn't much for us after wandering the vendor lined main street. However we'll most likely be back next year to support the community.

In fact there was only one vendor there selling pineapple slush things and that was it! There was live entertainment which was great and several carnival rides. There was a great variety of fair food, however I was expecting pineapple flavored things and fresh pineapples for sale and that was not the case. Hopefully next year. The festival wasn't very large, we basically walked around the block. We went on few admission day and it was nice weather therefore we enjoyed the short walk but I would have been upset if I had paid to get in. Parking is awful.... there isn't any.

Would recommend scheduling a reservation time as I can see it can be busy on the weekend, but simply show up, select your piece (they are all marked with pricing), and paint! Loved how much fun this was. Good vibes all around. Once you finish painting just head up to the front desk, they will take down all your info, you pay for your piece, and it's a seven day turnaround time for you to pick it up! Now go have some fun!

This is an annual festival hosted by the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The Friends is a…read morevolunteer organization dedicated to preserving the natural and cultural resources of Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Admission to the event is free but you have to pay the entrance fee to Jonathan Dickinson State Park. A single person admission is $4 and a car is $6. Once you are in the park you are free to go to the festival as well as explore the park. Springfest is held by the boat docks and Elsa Kimbell Environmental Education and Research Center which is about four miles from the entrance to the park. The festival included animal shows, vendors, food trucks, environmental education, and guided hikes. Kayaks and canoes were also available for rent at the park concession stand. I really enjoyed getting to see the animal show put on by the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center which takes in injured wildlife with the hope of rehabilitating and releasing. This is a great event for the whole family. As the state park system says, come out and see the real Florida!

This year was the 21st year of the Annual Hobe Sound Festival of the Arts. It was held on Saturday…read moreand Sunday, February 5th and 6th, from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The fair is located on Dixie Hwy across from Peninsula Coffee and Chuckles along the rail road tracks. It runs from Bridge Road to Venus Street, Admission is free but they were collecting donations to fund local programs. The event is hosted by the Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce and produced by Howard Alan Events. You can catch a free shuttle bus at the Pine School but I was able to find parking close to the festival on the side of Dixie Hwy. The art for sale included sculpture, paintings, artisan jewelry, photographs, ceramics, wood, metal, and textiles. All of the artists are available to discuss their work. The festival also had food and drink vendors and other people selling plants and flea market items. The Chamber of Commerce was selling festival T-shirts. I saw earrings as inexpensive as $5 to large scale sculptures that were many thousands of dollars. Of course I love anything with mermaids, sea turtles, and flamingoes. The art definitely leaned toward the tropical here. There was a lot of beautiful jewelry that caught my eye as did the carved birds and purses made from book covers. I really liked how there was a variety of items to choose from. This is a dog friendly event and well behaved leashed dogs are welcome. Aside from looking at the art, dog watching at art festivals is my second favorite activity. The weather was beautiful and it was so nice to enjoy the festival and fresh air. It is too late to attend this years festival but mark you calendars for this fun February event when it comes back next year for it's 22nd year.

The tables were set beautifully and the flower arrangements were gorgeous. The staff was dressed in pink to match our theme. We thought it was such a considerate touch. The service staff was fantastic. We lacked for nothing and our needs were anticipated. The food was delicious. We chose to have served appetizers then a buffet lunch. We even had special mocktails. Built in 1892 the Tindall home is the oldest known house existing in Jupiter. It is in the…read morelighthouse compound so your ticket for the lighthouse includes this house. I highly recommend taking the guided tour. The house was the home of George Washington Tindall and Mary Pilcher Tindall and 8 of their ten children. George and Mary were married in 1872. George made his living by hunting, farming, trapping, and raising cattle. He came south to Jupiter when his health was failing. George built his house on 128 acres. He built the frame house with an attached kitchen, a well, and a hen house. He cleared 5 acres in order to plant tropical fruits and pineapples. You can still see pineapples growing next to the house today. The house was moved from it's original location a mile away on the Loxahatchee River next to the Pennock Plantation on the south side of the river to the lighthouse grounds. The bell from the Pennock Plantation is also located near the house. This cracker style home is very small and included only three rooms. When you see how small it is you will be surprised how everyone in the family could have fit in there. Some of the children slept on the porch for comfort. The bathroom was located outside in the form of an outhouse. The house did not have indoor plumbing or electricity. There is a very nice garden consisting of edible plants around the front of the house. This house provides a window back in time to what life was like for the first settlers of Jupiter.

The restaurant and function areas are nice (I heard they do a lot of weddings). The golf course is very good (8.0) and there's a great swimming pool (9.0) and Tennis Program too. They have camps and programs for the kids, like you would expect in a place like this. You can become a member (there's a waiting list) which gives you certain benefits like making earlier tee times. But non-members can play too. The staff at the golf course, pro shop and bar/restaurant were really helpful. We enjoyed our time here.

The North Palm Beach Country Club driving range is an easy, low key spot for a quick hour of fun in…read morethe sun. Super simple setup, a bucket of 100 balls runs you just a few bucks, and I have never had trouble finding a spot. I get out here a couple times a year and it is great for casual practice. You will see some real pros working on their game, but for someone like me it is just good clean fun. And if you are a newbie like me and just here for the fun of it, do not worry about feeling intimidated. No one is watching, no one cares. You can roll up like the pro that you are or the newbie that you are and have a blast. The only knock, and the reason I am holding back a star, is that the golf shop does not even sell tees!
