I have been coming to Dr. O'Hara for over a year now. I first came in because my infant daughter was getting fevers frequently and was very restless. One of my friends had told me that if I was going to see a Chiropractor in Santa Barbara that I needed to see the best and Dr. O'Hara truly is the best. The first thing I noticed when I came into the office was the friendly staff member who greeted me with a smile on her face. All of the patients really seemed to enjoy themselves and were happy to be there. When I went back to see Dr. O'Hara she greeted me with a smile and lots of positive energy. She answered all my questions thoroughly. When Dr. O'Hara adjusted my daughter she did it carefully and quickly and my daughter seemed to actually enjoy it. I saw results with a week, my daughters fever had gone away and she was just a happier baby. After I saw what Dr. O'Hara did for my daughter I decided to have my husband come in. He is a personal trainer and is constantly lifting heavy weeks and was frequently experiencing back pain and headaches. Within his first adjustment he said his headaches had gone away completely. After my husband came in I then made my father come in who has severe debilitating arthritis. He had to wear special braces for both knees and could barley raise both shoulders past his chest. After a couple of months my father has much better flexibility in his shoulder and does not have to use his knee braces as much. I had never been to a chiropractor in my life and was frankly afraid to do so. Then I had intense pain along the lateral aspect of my scapula with numbness and tingling to my fingers with no known injury. As a medical professional I was skeptical about seeking anything other than "traditional" medical treatment. After speaking to several friends I decided to try a chiropractor...but who? I check the Independent Best Of and after finding that Dr. O'Hara was number one, I decided to give her a try. Thank goodness I did! She is a fantastic medical professional that eased my fears and my pain. It has taken time and is still a work in progress, but I have complete faith in her. Always upbeat and encouraging, it's a real pleasure to go to her office. And she is so willing to go that extra mile and will always be willing to meet you on her days off if you are in pain and give you an adjustment. And her office staff is unbelievably friendly and engaging. They great everyone by name which is fantastic and personable. When I spoke to Viviana on the phone to schedule my first appointment she was very reassuring when I expressed my fear of seeing a chiropractor. I've been seeing a local chiropractor for about 5 years. My dad found Dr. Ohara and wanted me to try her. Erica and Vivianna are on top of it and know my name when I come in. My 3rd visit with her, Dr. Ohara went through my X-ray with me, which costed about $150. She showed me what areas need help and what the next 6 months really looked like for me. She said I needed to come in 3 times a week ($50.00 a pop) for a month. After 6 weeks and $1150 with the X-rays and a vitamin she recommended, I stopped going. I initially felt improvement, but the method doesn't work for me. Maybe 3 times a week for other people is ok, not me. After I cancelled my appointment. Erica and Viviana called me 4 times trying to schedule an appointment to get me back in, but I really started to feel uncomfortable about it. The biggest thing that rubbed me the wrong way and I started getting skeptical was I have upper back pain in my T4 area. Twice she wouldn't adjust it and said we need to work on my T9 first. Then, she went to adjust my T4 the 3rd visit and "missed," as she put it. So then I had to sit in the waiting room for 10 minutes with an ice pack before they'd let me leave. read more

I have been a patient of Dr.Lori O'Hara's for about 4 years. Her expert care has allowed me to maintain my very active lifestyle at the age of 77. A recent example of her skill occurred when I was 2 days away from a 2 week Caribbean cruise. I had overdone my preparation for the Holidays and woke up with severe pain in my left leg and was barely able to walk. Dr. Lori Ohara is a master at her gonstead technique. Every year she is voted the best chiropractor in the area, but I didn't truly know what that meant until I visited her office. The office is comfortable and clean, usually offering tea and fruit upon entry. The girls at the front desk are also very kind and helpful. After injuring my back in a severe car accident and seeing many different chiropractors, Dr. Ohara stood out from the rest because she truly cares about each of her patients and will do everything she can to help the injury and ultimately your entire body. Dr. Lori O'Hara is the best chiropractor I have seen in my life. I have complete confidence in her ability to help me be the best version of myself. Recently I injured my lower back stepping over and catching my shoe on a puppy fence. The fence slid on my tile floor and I twisted and fell forward. I've had serious back and neck problems causing nerve damage and severe pain and muscle spasms for years now. I am personally offended by the remarks of the person who said "Don't trust the office staff with your credit card". That's just not fair. The office staff are WONDERFUL and I have NEVER had ANY problems with my credit card- and they ALWAYS automatically give me a receipt as I sign one of them. Dr. O'Hara is a kind, caring, wonderful chiropractor who is honest and is always careful to make sure the patient's wellness is priority. I have taught in College for 13 yr. Anatomy and Human Physiology, I have a good working knowlege of how the human body works. I was in a severe auto collision resulting in headaches, neck pain, and low back pain. I had been to many Chiropractors seeking heip, many of them touchy feely non force practioners, with no changes in my spinal problems. I found Dr O'Hara to be thorough, knowlegeable and very skilled. AWESOME!! I had a terrible case of tmj (locked jaw) and could barely open my mouth for 6 months. I tried everything, mouth guard, massage, warm pack, and nothing worked. I finally gave in and went to the chiropractor and within two weeks my mouth was opening up. She also fixed my atlas and pelvis. I would definitely recommend this office! I am a recent patient. I started going to her following a head on collision while on vacation in Maui. I also have Multiple Sclerosis.
