The doctor could see that, but just told me to buy a bigger shoe! Seemed totally uncaring! I ordered a bigger shoe, still won't fit. Called the doctor two or three times, never called me back! Eventually saw another doctor at the practice and he agreed that the brace would not fit in a shoe! He sent it back. Five appointments and a bunch of money spent....FOR NOTHING!

Dr. Campbell comes in, trims my nails and cuts a couple places on calluses with the same snippers , and gets me out in 2-3 minutes. Seems so hurried I'm afraid to ask more than rudimentary questions; like: how does the infection look? Is it going away? Then he says, "nice to see you," and it's time to get out. Last time he cut my calluses with nail clippers my skin split open in two places in the same locations. Every step caused horrible pain for a couple of weeks. I realize he's got a busy practice with lots of patients, and 6-week Medicare foot checks are probably not a great money-maker as compared to surgeries, but come on - he is getting paid, and my feet are important to me! I am incredibly thankful for this thoughtful and compassionate doctor. As he examined my condition and later performed surgery, he detailed clearly what he was seeing, what he was doing during surgery and the possible recovery time. He listened carefully to my question and showed great respect when I asked him to repeat. He is kind & considerate to his staff and works well with them: Mercy, Rayna, Rosie - Awesome women. My wife was in pain and my new knowledge of having 3 stages of foot support orthotics to return my wife's feet to comfort will mean a start of continued happiness for us. The location in Santa Barbara using Google was tricky. The store interior is very stark and visible products small. Considering the stories, I have heard from others getting orthotics from a physician, the scheduling appointments, and the costs associated, this was a convenient visit. We initially did not make an appointment, but our wait was like the same amount of time waiting for a scheduled appointment for a doctor, a few weeks in advance. This is not an immediate solution. Everyone will have unique differences and perhaps this will not work for them. An off the shelf solution, this expensive, is something I take a long moment to consider. However, expensive is relative to how much time you wish to stay in pain and have no working solution and plan to relieve that discomfort. Our experience was fantastic after getting the orthotics from the Good Feet Store! A simple set of foot inserts with a progressive plan to correct the muscle and bone alignments, specific for your feet, and maintain it, is what you get.
