This is another location of this fast food/snack restaurant in the northeast of Brazil. Whenever I pass one, I have to stop, because they make the best coxinhas. What's a "coxinha"? Pronounced "co-SHE-nya", this little croquette should be, in my opinion, the best-known snack from Brazil. They are made with a puree of macaxeira (manhiot, manioc, yucca or many other names--a tuber that's very popular in Brazilian cooking) and are filled with chicken, shrimp, dried beef and/or cheese and then deep-fried. I absolutely love the little things! This restaurant serves the best that I've ever eaten in Brazil. They are made to order, so they're always fresh and crunchy and delicious!
This restaurant sits right on the side of a local highway en route to the beach, so if you're heading this way, it's pretty convenient. If I find myself in the area again, I will be sure to stop in (and you should too). read more
