It is a very cute, yet small eatery located in a trendy part of Marseille. There are a total of three tables inside and several tables outside. The team running Mexicaine a Marseille is super chill and speaks English if needed. The menu is limited but simple. What I liked the most was that they provide quesadillas, burritos, salads, and tacos in meat, vegetarian, and vegan options. There are plenty of choices to be had. Every option has fresh ingredients. TIP 1: Skip the nachos, the guacamole is pretty good for being made in France, but the chip with melted shredded cheese is not the same as melted liquid cheese. If you order a drink, grab it from the fridge and let the cashier know at the end when it is time to pay what drinks you had. TIP 2: The benches and tables inside are seated high. If you or the accompanying diners have limited mobility, I recommend eating outside on the patio. This place gets busy. There are a lot of pickup and delivery orders, but it adds to its charm and reputation. While it may not be a taqueria from Guadalajara, the team makes every effort to bring some Mexican flavors and tastes to France.

Sadly his credit card machine did not work for us so bring cash as back up just in case. When we got home we dug into our food... Still warm from the walk.. And perfect for the night. The two people running the place were very nice and friendly. The tacos on the menu look like crispy fried corn tortillas which i would have loved but the actual tortillas are thick, soft corn tortillas and that was my only disappointment. Local residents tell me they really don't know how to eat crispy shell tacos so this might be a local preference. You can get really good Mexican beer and the flavored pop drinks from Mexico here. There is a small Mexican grocery section inside the store. I will definitely return when craving a good burrito.

They make their own homemade salsa and hot sauce. (Hot sauce is spicy - WARNING but very good) Love their passion fruit margarita. We got a pitcher for 3 adults and it was perfect. We ordered the trio tacos that were amazing especially the barbaccoa. The quesadillas were top notch with fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant as it is off the main paths and only open in the evenings but such a hidden gem.

We had to order a second helping of falafel al a carte (includes 5 extra falafel balls) which was then enough for us to feel oh so good. The fixed menu includes hommos, baba ganoush, tabouli, samboussik jebne (which is like a little samosa with cheese inside), fatayer (another samosa type with spinach inside), rakakat jebne (melted cheese inside Lebanese bread), falafel, and mjadara (potatoes and lentils). There was also a rice dish listed, but we didn't get that. You also get an ample side of pita bread! It's a lot of food and it's all perfectly prepared. At the end of the meal they brought us a couple sweet desserts, one corn based doused in honey, and the other a cream-pistachio topped sweet bread. And! A delicious serving of Moroccan mint tea. This was my favorite meal in Marseille, hands down. If it only were closer to where we stayed, we would've returned for another delicious meal. Don't miss out on this place!
